I didn’t know anyone; few wolves would even look in my direction after Damon growled at Samuel for complimenting me; and all that mate talk had been beyond uncomfortable. “Where is everyone?” I asked as Damon led me down a dirt path an hour later. Squirrels scurried around before us, scrounging for nuts and berries and picking at some moonflowers that blossomed along the pathway.
