Chapter 1: The break-up.
Mark's pov
I had suffered under the hands of my beautiful girlfriend. Because of her beauty, she mistreated me more often. I had endured a lot of suffering until the day I vowed not to suffer anymore.
That day I woke up earlier than usual and freshened up. After breakfast, I decided to step out of my bedroom and admire the world out there. At the balcony, there was a chair that I always sat whenever I felt worked up like today.
All I wanted was to admire the green vegetation as I had a glance of world view from my apartment.I sat there helplessly and counted the stains on the ceiling as I did every morning.
Suddenly, I had a glance at the empty chair beside me, "you could have seated here next to me, and by now I could be admiring your smile. This chair belongs to you Trizer Mackenzie!" I angrily shouted.
With a lot of anger and resentment, I threw the chair away. Later, I decided to go to the office. What I needed at that moment was to shake off the dust in my chest and also fill my empty heart with something productive, instead of sitting in the house all day long thinking about someone who didn't care about me at all.
Once I remembered what my friend Macmillan had told me that evening about my fiance Trizer, I thought I was dreaming. "Did you really cheat on me with that jerk Trizer? I hope not because if it's true, I will never forgive you. We are done." I whispered to myself as I drove.
Driving to the office wasn't an easy task for me. On the way I changed my mind and went directly to Trizer's place of work. As I packed my car, a tall middle aged man with blue eyes and black hair walked towards me.
I wondered who the hell he was since it was my first time to see him. He moved closer and asked, "May I know who you're and what you are doing here?"
After shaking hands with him and introducing myself, I then let him know that my mission was to see Trizer in her office. At that point he laughed sarcastically and made a remark that made me so angry. "I hope you are not one of them." He softly said looking at me weirdly.
Literally, I got confused a little and asked him what he meant by that. After engaging with him in the conversation for a while, he told me on the face that he never wanted to see me near Trizer again because she was not alone anymore. "Many of you have been making fun of her, but from now on she has me and I will do everything to protect her even if it means hiring a bodyguard for her."
His behavior really disgusted me because he called upon Trizer to come and humiliate me in front of her. Trizer equally did the same and left me standing there as a stranger. I was shocked to see her leave and bang the door behind her.
Her actions helped me confirm what my friend Macmillan had told me the other day as we watched the movie. Throughout that movie I wasn't myself just because Trizer wasn't there with me and I could testify that the movie never made sense to me at all. The behaviour made me understand why she never turned up as we had agreed and the reason behind her ignoring my calls.
"Why did you decide to lie to me Trizer?" I thoughtfully whispered to myself. I never knew she would humiliate me to this extent as she flirted with her boss. The so call new found love. "I hope he makes you happy dear!" These were the words I whispered to myself over and over again.
This woman was ready to do anything to humiliate me in front of her new boyfriend as she was in the process of getting me out of her life for good. I decided to give up on her since I realized that she didn't love me anymore.
She was prepared to dumb me earlier even before I realized it but thank God I happened to be a fast learner and I saw it coming. Little did she know that I was prepared to put a stop to her lies and put her in her rightful place early than she knew it. I didn't know how to do it but I was set for good or for worse.
On the way back to my apartment, I vowed not to ever take her back no matter how hard she pleaded with me. After that incident, I made up my mind that any woman I met on the way was going to be my fiance for a day to counteract what had just happened.
I was ready to pay any prize to the woman who will stand with me for only one day as I hit back on Trizer. "You're playing with fire Trizer Mackenzie." I murmured as I crazily drove back.
It never crossed my mind at all till I met them face to face with her so call Boss. It seemed that she had been going out with him more often lately. She had become so canning.
This was destined to happen because lately she had changed a lot and she didn't care about her life anymore. Right from her mode of dressing, the way she walked and even talked.
Her actions got me worried and I obviously knew that something was really wrong, but as always she kept me in the dark all through. I was so stupid to believe that all was well since that's what she always promised. I blindly loved her with all my heart without realizing her tricks well.
I desperately wanted a woman who would agree to be my girlfriend even if it was for a day in exchange for a reward. After suffering the humiliation by Trizer and her new boyfriend, I promised myself that the first woman I met would be the one to stand by my side.
It wasn't the first time that Trizer humiliated me this way, she had done it severally. Every time she would cry, regret and even ask for forgiveness but all those were tricks she used to cover up for her mistakes.
After parking the car, I wanted to go out there and get some fresh air so I made a decision to have a walk to the nearby shopping centre to see if I would be lucky.
As I made my way through the flower garden to the shopping centre I met a street girl walking along that path. "Oh my God, am I cursed or what? why a dirty street girl now? will she even listen to me if I talked to her?"
These questions and more crossed my mind but I had made a promise to myself and was set to keep it no matter what. "The first woman I meet would be my girlfriend." With this remarks I made advances and said hi as I moved closer to her.
She was slow to respond to my greetings but she smiled. I was not afraid of any storm because I had already learned how to sail my ship through even bigger storms than that one. However, my greatest worry was how to approach a half naked street girl and ask her to be my girlfriend for a day or so.
"What if she's mad and decides to make up a r**e story as she calls for help? Will anyone ever believe me?" I muttered, and in the process of picturing out on how to approach her. She looked at me, smiled and started walking in the opposite direction.
"You are just like everyone else, I thought you were different." She said and her words touched my heart. " I must do everything to convince her to be my vague girlfriend." I whispered to myself.
Unfortunately, when I turned back I saw her walking even faster than I first saw her. I ran after her calling, "Miss.....miss!" She looked back and asked. "Did you just call me miss? Sorry I judged you wrongly handsome, you're not like them." She said.
After interacting with her for a while, she opened up to me and told me that she was homeless and that she had been loitering in the streets begging and people are used to calling her crazy girl.
She knew that she looked crazy because she wore rags and she was very dirty.
"My name is Mark Williams pleasure to meet you." She looked at me in the eye and for the second time smiled and turned her back to leave. As she was leaving I asked her, "aren't you going to tell me your name?" She laughed and her laughter was so fascinating that it sent a shiver down my spine.
"Just call me crazy girl because that's what everyone else calls me." With tears in her eyes I got touched and moved closer to her and told her to stop crying. "You're not crazy to me, because in you I see a very beautiful woman."
Suddenly she stopped crying and asked, "are you serious?" After nodding my head in resignation she then shook my hand and said, "thank you! " She further told me that her name is Lisa Mackay.
"Lisa! What a beautiful name?" I said as I moved closer to get hold of her hand because I was determined to transform her to be the most beautiful girl in the whole world.
