Chapter Four - Corra - Discoveries

We all sat at the top of trimmer falls, with it being the beginning of November it was quite cold, 60 at most. It was nice though so we had all hiked up to the top. Grady was rough housing with jackson trying to push each other over the edge. " You don't have the guts to do it yourself Grady." Tank yelled out and dazzy and I stopped our conversation to watch. " If any ones scared it's the girls." He eyed me down. "I'll go if you do Grady." I smirked everyone looked at me like I was crazy, Jackson tightened his grip on Grady eye him down. " Problem with that Jackson." Dazzy hit me "oh come on it'll be fun."  "What about your cloths." Dazzy said concerned. "so what." I'll just jump in my underwear." All the boys turned beet red. "Your not actually going to do this are you."  She said concerned  "Why not." I said pulling my sweatshirt off and my shoes. "Don't do it." Jackson said  hovering over me. "Stop me then." I said pulling my jeans down. " Don't say that to me. Can you just use that brain of yours."  His voice was deep and demanding. I loved seeing him squirm.  I pulled off my shirt off and ran for the falls "now why would I do that?" I dove , my body feeling weightless as I fell and all there faces picked over the top of the cliff. I hit the water hard like a cold brick, when i was under it was like swimming in cold silk sheets. My chest hardened And I felt restricted.  When I came up, my first breath was harsh and Wheezy. I swam to the shore and was shocked to find Jackson standing there trying to catch his breath, he helped me out of the water and wrapped me and his Letterman jacket. He pulled me into him and squeeze me as tight as he could without popping me. “Never scare me like that again... are you suicidal!”  He said his voice filled with concern.  He kissed me, without warning, without permission. Without even deciding to do it he kissed me. Simply because he couldn’t have done anything else. It was like he needed my breath.  Who would’ve thought something so small could be so everlasting. Something so minute would be the thing I spent most of my days wanting for. And just before he stepped away He whispered to me, “ I’ve been waiting too damn long to do that.” ****later that day **** I stood on the other side of the wall as Cohen and Jackson talked. I wasn’t supposed to be listening I wasn’t supposed to be hiding either but something in me demanded me too. “is there anything she can’t handle?“ Jackson asked “ she’s been broken. She’s been knocked down she’s been defeated she’s felt the pain that most couldn’t handle. She looks her fears in the eyes day after day, but yet, she never runs she never hides and she always finds a way to get back up she’s unbreakable.“ “she’s not like us that’s true,” Cohen said “ you know? She can fall apart at night and still rise up in the morning, like nothing happened. Strong women feel pain, they just don’t let it destroy them. And sometimes… Sometimes the voices get too loud and she doubts herself. Doubt everything around her. That’s when you have to be there to check her back into reality like the other night and if you can’t understand that or won’t step up, then you don’t deserve to be around her. That’s part of the reason I don’t like Alec or warren. You should never push a caring person to a place where they just don’t care. Never make the person who feels everything, feel nothing.  “ what did he do to her?” Jackson asked “ to be truthfully honest I don’t know.” There was a long pause and tears built up in my eyes. “me Cloud and your older brother we’re going through a tough time, our parents weren’t around like usual. They were left alone together well we picked up the pieces of our lives and in that short period of time he broke every piece of her, Every good thing in her heart. One day she came home and all the sudden she changed She came back a completely different person, with a new frame of mind, and a new personality. The girl that smiled all the time and cared way too much, now didn't care at all.”  I fell to my knees with tears flooding out, crying in silence like I always had. I wasn't strong enough to keep going , but I still wished for them to not notice.  “ I think she’s finally reached a place of knowing she would be OK without him, and that’s the biggest part of the battle. Believing that you are meant to have more good in you than bad. I think you’re the reason she’s finally realized this.” “ doubtful she barely Even takes a second look at me unless she’s drunk.”  “Don’t count yourself short, in my opinion, you've always been good enough to take her from him. You’ve just been giving the best parts of yourself to everyone else just like your older brother. And if you want to continue down that path of destroying yourself for people who aren't going to care when you end up dying and the next alpha takes over. Then that’s your choice. I do know though there’s a piece of my sister willing to give up this f****d up relationship for you, and she could use you far more than all the people who are just using you for your power and rank.”  “ she could do far better than me.”  “ you don’t like going easy on yourself do you, is that because of what happened with your older brother. Or because you don’t think you actually imprinted on her because she showed no signs of imprinting on you.” “ you know about that.” “ it’s painfully obvious, for me it was the same exact way. Are used to tease me about it because it was so bad.” “ and you’re still fine with me taking her even though you know my family’s history” “ I knew Mark and your parents very well actually, and you’ll always be a monster there’s no turning back from it. But what type of monster you become is entirely up to you.” I picked myself up and headed back into the school to wash my face off and when I walked back out Jackson had already headed to the field. I followed Cohen to the stands were cloud, Anna, and Sam were. We sat there watching the game between us and Quinton prep. They were beating the crap out of each other, that's when alac slammed into tank throwing him to the ground and snapping his collar bone in half.  After they took tank off the field alac and jackson started pushing at each other and a fight broke out. I stood up and started to run to the entrance of the field.  Every emotion possible flooding over me .
