Chapter 2

The competition started when some militaries opened the gates of the cages of the small wild animals. There were thousands of small wild animals and all participants were asked to kill for them to gain points. Everyone knows they are putting their lives on the line just to survive this competition. But the governor is not a cold-hearted person so he always orders some of his generals to disguise themselves and join the competition as participants. They are only asked to take action if the participants were facing high-level danger animals.

Alyxia turned herself and tried to run as fast as she can. Audiences who saw her laughed at her sudden move. They thought she got scared already. But her goal is to be at the top of that wall to see her targets. Tumbling and somersaulting, she landed safely at the top of the wall while both hands were holding the edge of it. Most of the audience was amazed. Some got frightened because they thought she will fail.

The governor clapped his hands while giving the officials his proud look. "See? Aly is a talented girl! She's good at hunting!" he said proudly.

Brigadier General is praying silently for the safety of her daughter. She may be trained but he can't help but feel worried for her daughter.

Everyone is entertained. All participants show off their talent and skills. Some participants have chosen bow and arrow. They created three lines and aimed their arrows at their targets and released them in unison. Alyxia is also trying to gain points at the same time she's supporting participants who have chosen spears and swords as their weapons. Running at each side of the wall, Alyxia positioned herself steadily. With three arrows in every attack she makes, she releases her arrows after she aims them at her targets.

Other participants can't ignore her. Some were annoyed by her presence. But they can't ignore the fact that without her support, many of them will be eaten alive by those small wild animals. Before the competition began, the militaries have putted a symbol on each of the participant’s weapons for them to easily see how many points each of them will gain. As for Alyxia, her arrows were all marked with a gray-colored thin kain as her symbol. Now she's leading because she didn't miss one of her targets.

Alyxia has used all of her arrows so she has no choice but to come down. She pulled out one of her arrows that pierced her target and use it to attack small wild animals. She can just go outside the arena because she already passed the test. If a participant used all his or her arrows at the enemy and missed none then automatically he or she passed.

"Why doesn't she use her long katana?" The crowd is wondering why Alyxia remained using the metal arrow instead of her long katana.

The Fuhrer President glanced at Alyxia's father. He is amazed but at the same time, he is mad at them. He thought that if ever Alyxia graduated from the Military Academy and got promoted by one of the officials then it won't take that long before she can become a member of the Supreme Division. If that happened, Fuhrer-President will become her dog, he can't do anything to defy her if she becomes one of the Supreme Lieutenants.

"Brigadier General, your daughter is like a lion who doesn't get satisfied easily," the Fuhrer President said half smiling yet anger was very evident on his face.

Brigadier General remained calm and smiled at him. After looking away, he throws him a death glare. That president is cunning. He may look like a good leader with the principal but he betrays his group at times of demon hunting. He is also the reason why members of Military Officers never got a chance to be promoted to the top of the summit. But even though Brigadier General knows how military leadership works, he remained silent to protect her daughter. It's very dangerous to know the dirty excuses and illegal actions of some of the officials. If they found out, he will be executed secretly.

Inside the arena, a girl was afraid to kill her targets. But wild animals don't have the will to think straight so they are attacking the participants without holding back.

"Stop it, Miss Alyxia! You are pissing me off," the girl said irritatedly.

"Why? I didn't do anything wrong," Alyxia replied innocently.

The girl rolled her eyes. Alyxia injures the wild animals and then lures them out in that girl's direction. That's why the girl doesn't have a choice but to aim her arrows at her targets. Now she's gaining points.

Participants that were gathered in front of the gates of the cages panicked. Four huge wild foxes came out of one of the cages. The five thousand participants are now panicking. The officials didn't see the wild foxes because they are wondering why the participants were all racing towards the tollgate of the arena. The graders weren't informed that the wild foxes will be released but they thought maybe it was a surprise so they changed the grading method. It will be teamwork and leadership.

"What the!" Participants were all frightened.

Alyxia can't see those wild foxes because of her height. After all, she's only a fourteen-year-old girl of average height.

"We can't fight those wild foxes!" one of the five thousand participants shouted, trying to open the tollgate.

Most of the participants followed him, and now the whole arena is rumbling, audiences are also frightened, and some of the officials are expecting something spectacular to happen. The governor ordered his special team to open the tollgate after he saw that some of his chosen people who were blending in the crowd were forced to step outside the arena because of the panicking crowd.

The ocean of people was cut in the middle. Alyxia didn't move nor flinch an inch. She is confused but she remained in her position as others were racing to go outside the arena. The four wild foxes started to walk, eyeing thousands of people. Now that they are drooling, participants are forcing their way out.

Alyxia turned herself to see what frightened other participants. Her eyes widened when she saw the wild foxes staring at her while drooling. She can't move her feet. Her heart stopped beating the moment she realized that she is doomed. If she runs, the wild foxes will run after her but because she is small, it won't take that long before the wild foxes cope up to her and eat her alive.

"What the hell are you waiting for, kid? Get out there if you don't want to die!" The crowd shouted but Alyxia couldn't think straight.

The audience asked officials to stop the competition and kill those foxes but no one moved. No members of the Military Hierarchy gave an order except the governor who stood up and decided to come down as he orders his team to save Alyxia. Brigadier General jumped off of his seat. He landed inside the arena but was also forced to step outside when lots of participants bang against him.

"Someone get that kid out of there!"

Alyxia stepped backward slowly. But her body froze when two of the four wild foxes started running toward her. This is her first time encountering huge wild foxes. Her father knows about it.

"Give way, please! I have to save my daughter!" Brigadier General pleaded but some too many participants were forcing their way out, completely blocking him from going inside.

No one expected the wild foxes to be released. Not even the governor. Everyone knows how dangerous those wild foxes are. Those wild foxes came from the Cursed Forest in the West Area and were only caught for experimentation purposes.

"Aly!" Brigadier General started to climb up on the wall just to make his way. But it's too late.

It was a mere moment before those two wild foxes have eaten Alyxia alive but her right hand moved on its own like it owned her body and soul. Alyxia's feet moved to form a fighting stance. She bent her left foot and draws out her sword. The long katana shines as the sunlight illuminates upon it and her carved name and dream military rank, "Prime Lieutenant Governor Alyxia Caitlin Domenico" becomes visible.

Everyone watches with their eyes wide open as those two wild foxes prior each other to eat her. She stepped backward and bent her left foot again before she keeps her elbow slightly bent as she raises the long katana over her head. Alyxia breathed in and out as she calms her body pointing towards the target. At the count of three in her mind, she ran faster enough to draw near one of the wild foxes. She jumped enough to be leveled with the fox's foot and swirled around then swung her long katana with full strength, creating an invisible wind force that sliced up the wild fox's neck and its head rolled over the ground as Alyxia tumbled along it. Everyone is confused yet amazed. No one can figure out how the girl managed to cut off its head when they didn't see her aiming her long katana at the target's neck instead they saw her aimed at its foot.

Alyxia's long katana is not an ordinary sword. It is specially made and forged by the world's most skilled blacksmith, Oscar Owl. It looks like a normal long blade to anyone but once you swing it with a timing stance, form, and strength, it will create an invisible wind force that can surely cut through anything. The Boomerang-Wind form combination is like a shadow of a thousand daggers that showers its specific target or a huge invisible hurricane that swirls around and can kill thousands of enemies in a swift move. Its sharp edge can cause you a deep wound that won't heal fast, more like a poisonous thorn. That's why she doesn't draw it to anyone except demons. But now she has used it against a huge wild fox.

Everyone was shocked. They can't absorb what just happened. Three foxes got mad after witnessing how Alyxia killed one of them. Now they started running to kill her. Alyxia is not experienced enough to fight huge wild animals. She was then trained in mixed martial arts and hunting but never encounter this kind of incident. Her body trembled in fear. She can't do anything but close her eyes and anticipate the three wild foxes' next move.

"Daddy," she cried helplessly.

Everyone anticipates the same scenario. Brigadier General is shouting at the officials, begging them to stop the foxes and save his daughter. But they were all miles apart and participants were keeping them all from going inside the arena. Everyone thought it is the end for the helpless girl. But four participants who were amazed by her skills and braveness moved towards her direction to give their best to save Alyxia.

One archer used her bow and arrows to shower the slowest fox with those sharp arrows. The second participant used his heavy sword to throw it and divert the attention of the second fastest wild fox and used himself as bait. They are all fast and skillful. Then the third participant with a spear is faster than those three participants so Brigadier General was relieved when he had managed to draw near Alyxia and protected her using his thrust spear. But Alyxia got scratched on her left eye.

She cried loudly when she felt the unbearable pain. The boy with a spear panicked when lots of blood streamed down her face. But he managed to stop the fastest wild fox with a sharp weapon that creates a sudden lunge directed at a specific target. It is one of the special spears called the thrusting spear. Even if he failed to completely protect Alyxia, he is relieved to know that both of them are still alive. The wild fox is tough but the fourth participant finishes it off with his sharp and unique sword. He sliced its head. Alyxia witnessed everything. She saw how the fourth participant cut the fox's head without showing mercy. She was very shocked but she immediately passed out because of the unbearable pain.

The two wild foxes are still alive. But the fourth participant finished them off. He moves very fast that everyone sees his afterimage. The medical team was rushed to go inside the arena after what happened. Brigadier General is already crying as he carries his daughter. Governor asked Major General Aligate to secretly finish the grading before drawing near Alyxia.
