Jo’s whole attitude changed drastically when his father was accused of corruption by the company where he worked. Arthur did not feel he had committed any act of corruption, so he continued to fight the accusations. However, he couldn’t do much, because all his assets had been confiscated. Never mind hiring a lawyer, there is no cost to just renting a house. So Ana brought her children back to Arthur’s parents’ house in a remote village. As the days went by, Grandma’s treatment made Ana and her two children uncomfortable. Ana’s mother-in-law always blamed her for the arrest of Arthur, who was accused of laundering money for his family. This morning everyone gathered for breakfast together. “Remember! Food prices are expensive! Eat enough to save money!” Grandma explained to Arthur’s wife and his children. They just stared while swallowing the bitter pill of Grandma’s words. They also witnessed Grandma giving lots of side dishes to her two other grandchildren. Jo just gulped because the food he ate was only a piece of bread without salad, fish, and fruit like Grandma gave her two other grandchildren. They accepted all of Grandma’s treatment patiently. In reality, they stay and eat while their accounts are frozen. There is disappointment in their hearts. But they remained strong and spread smiles. *** Being labeled as the son of a corrupt person made Jo a quiet person. His attitude really changed drastically. Even on campus, he rarely socializes with his friends. Because many of his friends shunned him because he was labeled as the child of a corrupt person. Jo is almost desperate to think of a way to free his father. Even though he had promised to find a way out so that his father would be released from prison, and also restore his family’s good name. In order to reduce the fatigue in his mind. Jo chose to take part in nature-loving activities as his hobby is that he enjoys going on adventures. He walked to the Nature Lovers secretariat room on campus to register himself as a potential nature lover member. When he got there, someone approached him. “Jonathan!” “Hi, Tom! What are you doing here?” said Jo, smiling at his classmate. “I want to register as a potential nature lover member! Are you coming too?” Tomy, who is often called Tom, is sincerely friends with Jo. Because Tom understands what it feels like when a family is hit by a disaster. Like Tom’s family, which was recently hit by a forest fire that spread to their settlement. That’s the reason why Tom signed up to become a member of nature lovers, to love nature and the environment more for the sake of a healthy earth. “Yes, Tom! I’m so tired of facing reality... let alone people’s ridicule about my family... luckily, I’m immune to what people say!” Jo explained, trying to cover up her sadness. After the two of them collected the forms, someone who passed them mocked Jo again. “Son of a corruptor! No shame! Follows a nature lover who seems to be told by his father to become an illegal logging spy!” said the student named Nick with his eyes slightly narrowed. Jo had clenched his fists. Hazel’s eyes flashed with anger. However, he remembered his father’s message to always control his anger, even if it was passionate. And Tom also gave support to Jo to be patient. “Calm down guys! Never mind, don’t pay attention to him! He’s famous for being stupid!” Tom tried to calm Jo’s anger. Jo found his anger difficult to contain. There is a feeling of overflowing in him when he is angry. However, he again remembered his mother and sister. He didn’t want to make things worse. So, Jo chose to leave. Even though Nick thinks Jo is like a loser. *** Tonight, Jo was pensive while sitting at a village guard post not far from his grandmother’s house. The light of the full moon this time felt soothing to Jo’s soul. The wolf’s howl sounded clearly in Jo’s ears. The hairs on the back of his neck began to tingle as the wind rustled the leaves that night. “Jo! Don’t muse!” said a sheriff who had just finished making two cups of coffee. “Oh, sorry Sir! Mr. Sam is on guard tonight?” said Jo greeting someone who was known as the village police guard who happened to be on duty that night. “Yes... but tonight I’m on guard alone.” Mr. Sam sat next to Jo. “It’s late, why are you still here, Jo?” asked Mr. Sam curiously. “Yes, sir... it’s stuffy at home, so I came here to calm down... it’s just that I was a bit creeped out by the sound of a wolf howling.” Jo said what had just happened moments before Mr. Sam greeted her. “I’m not surprised! Now it’s a full moon night... usually the creatures in the forest there are wandering around enjoying the light of the full moon,” explained Mr. Sam. “Where did that howling sound come from, sir?” Jo is increasingly curious about the village where he currently lives. “The howl is heard from the blue hills… look at there!” Mr. Sam pointed to a hill. “That, the highest hill... is blocked two hills from here.” Mr. Sam showed Jo. “It is said that the Blue Hill holds many unsolved mysteries... many people get lost after entering there, in the end the forest inside the Blue Hill becomes one of the forbidden forests for climbers to pass through... In fact, there is a climbing post to the mountain. On the red hill next to the blue hill.” Once again Jo looked up at the mysterious blue hills. He felt the wolf’s howl calling him to come there. He also felt as if he remembered a place that was so profound. However, he couldn’t remember, it only occurred to him that everything he felt was only the result of his dreams about a forest and wolves.
