LEXI POV I pulled into the little town well before sunrise. It wasn’t well lit and my headlights weren’t the brightest. I found what I thought was a legal parking place, ratcheted my seat back and dozed off. I had pointed the nose of my car towards the water so I knew the sun would rise behind me. This town was on the Gulf of California so facing the ocean faced west. I woke up to someone tapping on my car window. Despite it being late October, it was warm down here and the inside of my car was approaching a broiling temperature. I looked to see who had woken me up.
