Daniel blatantly mocked his uncle, masking the jab as harmless humour. His uncle quickly morphed his stony, angry expression into one of forced laughter as the whole table laughed in unison. And I just awkwardly sat there, concentrating on eating since it seemed that I was the only one aware of what was actually going on. This entire conversation was a friggin double-edged sword and it needed to end before Daniel took it too far! I got the craziest idea… and it could’ve been because of all the wine that I’d had along with the food. And it might’ve made me a bit tipsy because sober me would’ve never done something like this. “Uh, Daniel?”, I hushedly whispered to him. By then the conversation had been steered to world politics and football, so we were on safe territory… for now. “Yeah?”
