Chapter 17

*Xaviers point of view*

I picked Avery up and she wrapped her legs around me, I walked into the bathroom and sat her on the counter. She kept her legs tightly wrapped around me leaving no room to move. She wanted me as close to her body as I wanted her to mine. I started peppering kisses down her cheek to my mark making her shiver under my touch. I loved making her squirm. I was finally able to pull away from her grasp and turn the shower on.

“Ready princess?” She nodded her head and I picked her back up, she wrapped her legs around me again. I walked into the shower and pushed her back against the wall. I started kissing her again. I could hear smalls moans escaping her mouth which made Isaac growl. “I love you too Avery.” She squeezed my hand and smiled at me.

“Where do you want to eat?” I was hoping the pup wanted burgers.

“Uh I don’t care, something where I can get some pancakes.” Of course the pup wanted breakfast food.

“We can go to Denny’s” she nodded her head. We started to walk out the door.

“Wait, I need to talk to you.” I whipped my head around to see Axel standing there. Ugh he always came at the worst times I just wanted to eat.

“I’ll be back in a little bit princess, maybe you can go find Danielle and put a plan together for tomorrow.” She nodded her head and I walked away. Hopefully this didn’t take too long.

“We found Ashley.” He waited until Avery was out of view.

“Where was she?” I’m surprised she was found so easily but with how badly her plan fell through yesterday it didn’t surprise me.

“We found her about 40 miles north of the territory, our hunter tracked her down quick. Stupid of her not to cover up her scent.” I nodded my head as we made our way down to the cellar.

“She’s been badly beaten, I just wanted to let you know she doesn’t look good.” She must have been beaten when her plan didn’t work. We walked down the stairs and Ashley came into view, she was chained to a chair. She was so bruised you could barely make out her face. I almost felt like it was punishment enough for what she did.

“Wake her up.” The guards nodded their heads and threw a bucket of water on her startling her awake.

“What where am I , who are you?” He eyes barely opened but they landed on me.

“Oh handsome you came for me!” Who did she think she was.

“No I didn’t come for you, I came to ask questions before I banished you.” She dropped her head.

“I have nothing to tell you, unless you want to reconsider me being your Luna my lips are sealed.” Fine if she wanted to play dirty, I could play dirty.

“Okay, fine but I can only make you my Luna if you tell me what I need to know.” She looked up at me a small smile coming across her face.

“Promise?” I nodded my head and walked closer to her.

“I promise, I’ve only wanted you. I just had to keep the game up for everyone else but I promise as soon as you tell me what you know, I’ll let out and we’ll go get married if that’s what you want.” She nodded her head slowly.

“Okay, fine. I was working with Zeke.” I thought Zeke was dead, how was she still working with him?

“I know ‘Zeke’s dead’ but he’s not, he put a potion in one of his loyal pack members food and that made him shape-shift into his wolf and that’s why the fight was so easy.” It made sense I had always wondered how I won that fight with such ease but didn’t want to put too much thought in to it.

“Anyways he’s caught wind that Avery is pregnant and is positive it’s his pup, and our plan was for him to kidnap you just long enough so he could get to Avery, and the rest is history. Someone we weren’t expecting showed up and saved you.” I wonder who it was, obviously they didn’t want me to remember them for a reason.

“Thank you for being honest, Ashley Parr I hear by vanish you from Blue Horizon Pack, if you ever set foot in our territory again we won’t hesitate to kill you.” I turned to look at Axel.

“Even though she isn’t a pack member anymore please get her some medicine so she can heal properly.” I began to walk out when I heard Ashley sobbing.

“But you promised, don’t you want me handsome!? Think about all the ways I please you. Don’t do this to me.” I walked out without looking back. I knew she wanted to be with me but so bad that she endangered my life and Avery’s that wasn’t okay. I walked back upstairs and sat on one of the couches. Avery was close I could smell her but I wanted to give her time to finish talking to my sister.

*Averys point of view*

After Xavier left I went and looked for Danielle, I found her standing in the kitchen looking for a snack.

“So, me and your brother are getting married tomorrow.” She jumped and looked at me as a terrified look turned into a smile.

“Obviously I am on strict bed rest right now so I need all the help I can get. I’m not picky just make it short and sweet and we only want you, your dad, Axel, Brent and Francis there so please don’t tell anyone else.” She nodded her head. I felt the pup kick which let me know Xavier was close, I wasn’t done with Danielle yet so he could wait.

“Also I was thinking we could go into town today to look at some dresses?” She clapped her hands together and smiled at me again.

“Of course I’ll go with you and I’ll do all of the planning, I’m so happy for you guys.” I’m so glad she supported us, I felt like I had no one besides Xavier. Layla has just fell off the face of the earth and I couldn’t even get my mom to text back.

“Thank you.” She walked over and hugged me. I let out a sigh as my stomach grumbled, I needed to eat.

“Alright right now I have a brunch date with your brother, be ready when I get back so we can go!” She nodded her head and I walked away.

“Well hello there handsome, come here often?” I looked at Xavier who was sitting on the couch.

“Uh actually no I don’t but you’re a pretty little thing, mind if I get your number?” I just chuckled and raised up my hand so he could see my ring.

“Sorry I’m engaged, better luck next time.” This time he laughed at me.

“Oh I think I could take him, someone as pretty as you, you’re worth getting into a fight for.” I rolled my eyes and walked towards the front door.

“I don’t know, I think he could kick your ass. Of course I’m biased though since he’s mate.” He quickly caught up to me and opened the door before I could.

“Well why don’t we give him a call and see if he’s up for it.” I stepped out in front of him.

“Well I think that’s a great idea.” I pulled out my phone and fake dialed.

“Hi, yeah honey there’s this lunatic here who wants to fight you for my hand, yeah uh huh, I’ll let him know.” I put my phone in my pocket.

“Sorry he says he doesn’t waste time on rodents like you.” He let out a gasp. And grabbed my waist.

“Well maybe you will.” He began kissing my cheek and down my neck making me hungry for something other than food.

“Sorry Xavier, your pup is starving can we go eat and maybe I’ll take you up on that offer later.” I quickly kissed his cheek and pulled away. He sighed but followed me anyway.

“Whatever the pup wants the pup gets, to Denny’s we go.” He opened my door up and I stepped in. Making his way to the drivers side. The drive to Denny’s took what felt like hours probably because I was so hungry. Xavier parks and comes over to open my door holding out his hand for me.

“My lady.” He made me feel all gushy inside. I really did love this man. We walked up to the door and he opened it.

“Hello there handsome, fancy seeing you here again.” I look over to see who just said that and could see a pretty, tall, blonde woman behind the counter. She looked at him with eyes that had clearly seen his body before. I heard a low growl and looked at Xavier.

“That wasn’t me, that was you.” My cheeks flushed red and I felt embarrassed. She needed to know he was mine though. Stupid blonde bimbo. We walked over to booth in the far corner and waited for a waitress to come take our order. After about ten minutes the same girl from before came trotting over. Her uniform was dangerously high above the knee.

“What can I get you today handsome?” Xavier just stared me down the whole time as I kept looking her up and down.

“I’ll have a coffee.” I felt his leg touch mine under the table and my nerves instantly calmed.

“Of course I know just how you like it too.” She walked away without even asking me. Xaviers eyes snapped to her and he raised his hand to snap his finger.

“You forgot to take my fiancé’s order.” She spun around and he just glared at her.

“Right.” She rolled her eyes at me.

“I’m not going to be rude to you because I don’t know you. Clearly you used to have a thing with Xavier here but obviously he didn’t want you. Stop being rude to me or else.” I felt myself growl again louder this time. Xavier reached his hand across the table and grabbed mine.

“She’ll have a sweet tea.” She looked back and forth between me and him before scurrying away.

“I’m sorry, I don’t know why I’m being so protective all of a sudden. I know you were with other girls before me but it doesn’t give them a reason to be rude to me because you chose me.” He smiled at me and kissed the back of my hand.

“I know princess, I’m sorry.” Out of all the girls he could sleep with, why choose a Denny’s waitress? I just laughed to myself.

“Here your coffee.” She handed him a cup full of sugar and a bowl full of cream and walked away. It took her another thirty minutes to come back and take our order.

“What would you like to eat handsome?” Did she seriously not get it?

“My names Xavier, you forgot Avery’s tea go get it.” She quickly ran back to the drinks station and came back placing my tea in front of me.

“You keep it up and I will have a talk with the owner.” Her eyes grew wide and she nodded her head.

“Now I would like the breakfast burger please, eggs over medium and crispy bacon. Toast with grape jelly and a side of hash browns. And you?” He looked across at me.

“Uh I just want some strawberry and cream pancakes, bacon and crispy hash browns.” She quickly put it down and walked away.

“So who’s the owner?” I just assumed it was another wolf whom he was close with.

“Me.” He said flatly. That made my blood boil though, even after the way she treated me he was going to continue to let her work here?

“Trust me, I would fire her but she has a pup. No it’s not mine before you go assuming. It’s actually Axels. Yes he hooked up with her after I did.” I scrunched up my face trying to process this information. Is this why Axel didn’t have a mate? Because he messed up and got another girl pregnant first.

“Does she live on the pack grounds?” He nodded his head.

“Yes but she never comes into the house, and the only reason she lives there is because of the pup.” This made me feel a little better, I could potentially run into her but the chances were unlikely.

“Here’s your food.” She put the plates down in front of us and walked away. I devoured my pancakes and bacon and made it half way through my hash browns before I started to feel sick.

“Xavier I need to go to the restroom I’m gonna be sick.” I quickly got up and made my way to the back of the restaurant barely making it to the bathroom before I threw up everything I just ate. Silly pup, made me crave something and then throw it right back up. Once I felt like I was done I went to the sink and rinsed out my mouth and washed my hands.

I walked out of the bathroom and started walking towards our table when I could see her standing over at the table with her hand on Xaviers shoulder. I walked faster and sat beside him, pushing her out of the way.

“I don’t know how to make this anymore clear. He’s my fiancé and I am carrying his baby, he chose me not you, move along.” She just looked at us baffled that Xavier would let me talk to her like that.

“Go” I ordered and she walked away.

“You’re hot when you’re protective.” I felt his hand fall on my leg and trail up my thigh making me grow hot with desire. I looked at him his eyes dark with hunger.

“Why don’t we head home?” I nodded my head and we quickly left. Once we got to the car he opened up the passenger back door and I crawled in, he quickly followed behind me. Thank god I wore a dress today. I straddled his lap and quickly undid his belt. I pulled my dress up more as he undid his pants and slid them down. He went to push my panties to the side and just smiled at me.

Once we were finally home he left me alone to go find Danielle. Once I found her we loaded back up and headed to a local dress shop. I really can’t believe I’m getting married tomorrow. To someone as handsome as Xavier. I was really chosen to be his mate. I don’t know if the gods were laughing at us because we were such an odd couple or if they smiled because opposites really do attract. But I knew I was happy and content and I couldn’t wait to love him forever.
