Chapter 14
Upon returning to the condominium in Scottsdale, Sam instructed Ryan to collect his personal items and to prepare for travel. Sam left the unit while Ryan showered, ate, and packed. Ryan was watching a classic film noir mystery on television when Sam returned ninety minutes later and retreated to the bedroom. Sam closed the door, but Ryan was able to hear a portion of his end of the phone call.
"I believe Zachary suspected Ryan," Sam said into his phone, presumably to Vicente. "Or at least the Aleksey character did. There are no clues to be found in that condo. None. I scoured it from top to bottom."
