Chapter 13 It was not yet dawn when Ryan Jayden was wakened by Sam Capone, who was already dressed. Sam pulled him out of bed and ferried him out of the condo and to the parking garage. Ryan, too groggy to meaningfully object, protested upon being lain along the back seat of the sedan. Sam did not acknowledge his words and Ryan slumbered again. An hour later, Ryan briefly stirred. The sedan was traveling at a high speed and the first hint of a clear sky was evident from the pre-sunrise light.
