Chapter 33

1650 Words

Chapter 33 Ryan Jayden's heart continued racing. Zachary Fellini's body language was not threatening, but Ryan believed that would be unnecessary anyway from a man with supreme confidence. Ryan realized he was trapped in a desert nook with someone he betrayed—a man who could end his life with one well-placed blow of his fist, elbow, or foot. "At ease, my friend," Zachary said. "You're shaking." "Why are you here with me?" Ryan asked. "You have a fight tomorrow, too." "Let's sit and calm down. You're right. I am fighting tomorrow. There is no way I would be here with you now, all the way out here in the canyon, if this wasn't quite important to me." Zachary lowered to the ground. His back was to the chamber entrance, effectively blocking Ryan from attempting a panicked getaway.
