Chapter 11: Plan

1161 Words
Chrysan’s POV “So, the reason why I’ve gathered you all here is that, while we were rescuing Reikkie, I smelled something fishy was going on,” Daphne said while she was above on a mini stage Xyxo created. “I’m sorry! I had fried fish for lunch earlier,” Xyxo exclaimed as if he made a big mistake, making us chuckle a little bit. “Id*ot! Daphne meant that someone was fishing there in the main facility,” Vane opposed Xyxo. Seriously, what heck is wrong with these guys? They continued arguing and they just stopped when they heard Daphne clear her throat. The two of them received a hit coming from Keith which alerted Jairo. “Are you guys okay? Do I need to call Doc Fraita?” Jairo concernedly asked. “Let them be, Jairy. Don’t get involved in these idiots,” Sythel spoke and crossed her legs. “But…” Jairo said in a doubtful tone. “Shut up, Chihuahua,” Keith referred to Sy who’s busy putting makeup on. “Guys, I think you should calm down,” I interjected in their conversation but no one gave me any attention. “You―” Sythel was about to attack Keith when she was interrupted by Daphne that cleared her throat louder than the previous one. “Ehem, so, I was saying, something is fishy in there― Not because you ate fish for lunch,” Daphne said and emphasized the last word while glazing over Xyxo. He averted his gaze because of embarrassment. “Or, someone was fishing in the main facility.” Daphne did the same thing to Vane and his reaction was the same as Xyxo. “It’s because!” Daphne suddenly exclaimed, making us straighten our backs as we listen to our commander. “According to Vane’s data, there going to be a general assembly, one month from now. All citizens living here inside the Ozainus Dome are required to attend. As we all know, that’s our most hated part of the year as individuals that have special abilities. Part of the government’s agenda was to find us, so we need to double our security, understood?” Daphne spoke and we nodded as a response. I nodded but I don’t get every single thing she said. I don't know if I'm innocent or just ignorant. “Since people are into us, we gonna play hide and seek. We need to hide full of care. Once they caught us, it’s game over. They’re going to extract our blood and inject it into them. We have one month to be stronger. I’m counting on you guys!” Daphne continued. Reikkie raised her right hand as if she was reciting in a class. “How can we be stronger?” she asked, making Daphne smile. “We will enhance our skills. I’ve realized just a minute ago that it’s alright if we don’t get out of our comfort zone. It’s okay to master only one thing and just nourish that single ability you’ve to learn until it’s unstoppable. But I know you’ve reached your limits. I know you’ve drawn the fullest potential in yourself. And I think it’s the time for you to learn new abilities, and we need to unleash our trump card someday,” Daphne had a gentle smile on her face while saying those. “What’s your point, Dear Daphne?” Sy asked while filing her nails. “Let’s switch roles!” Daphne exclaimed making us stunned. “What the hotdog did you say?” Xyxo spoke while his mouth remains open and chunks of hotdog are in it. “May God bless you,” Vane said while looking in the air. “Did you just hit your head or something?” Keith asked Daphne with an emotionless expression on his face. “Whose head was hit?!” Jairo asked concernedly and wandered his gaze on us. When our eyes met, I just shook my head making him sigh in relief. “I’ll better think some strategies than listening here,” Reikkie boredly said and started sketching in her notebook. “What can you say, Chrysan?” Daphne asked me as if she didn’t hear the complaints of my friends. I looked down and started playing with my fingers while thinking of the exact words I should say. What’s my opinion? This is the first time someone asked me for my insights. “I… uh. I agree with Daphne,” I stuttered. They all gasped because of my answer and they kept asking me if Daphne paid me for my act. I wish she really did. “I know what you’re thinking, guys. But Daphne’s idea was not that bad. We need to be independent and master new things. We need to outsmart our enemies, and don’t let them predict our movement,” I said confidently but my inner self was already screaming because of what I did. What was that? That was freaking awesome! Did I really say that? “Omg,” I heard Sy gasp. “How many words was that?” Keith asked and simply hit Xyxo’s elbow. “35,” Xyxo answered while chewing the remaining hotdog in his mouth. “That’s the longest sentence she said so far,” Reikkie said and she wrote something in her notebook. “New record!” Vane exclaimed and punched the air. Jairo approached and he placed his palm on my forehead and on my neck as if he was checking me if I have a fever or what. “Are you sick? Do you need my treatment?” “That’s our Chrysan!” Daphne proudly said and clapped her hands. I can’t describe my expression right now. They are all looking at me as if I made a huge achievement in my life. Is that really my longest sentence so far? I wish they always hear my inner voices. “Fine, if that’s what Chrysan said then I’ll agree,” Keith said against his will making Daphne clap her hands. “Me, too!” Sy energetically exclaimed while raising her right hand. “Me, three!” Xyxo copied Sythel. “Me, four!” Vane copied Xyxo. “Me, fi― I’m in,” Reikkie said and rolled her eyes. “If there's no danger then, I’ll guess I’ll agree?” Jairo answered in question. Daphne clapped her hands twice to gain our attention. Her bright smile greeted us. “That settled then! Reserve your energy now, sleep all you want, because tomorrow, I’m certain that you’ll be tired as hell,” she said while grinning making as all gulped. “Then, there’s danger after all,” Jairo said while staring in the air. Can I do this? I clenched my fist because of that dumb question. It doesn’t matter if I can’t do it, I’ll still going to do it. It’s the least thing that I can do. For our safety.
