His mom hugs him tightly, sniffing his scent and ruffling his hair like a little boy.
CJ is the first to pull away from the tight embrace. The minute they break apart, his mother's eyes land on me and she hisses.
"You!"
She looks at me in horror.
CJ whispers something in her ear that makes her calm down. She sails past me, sneering at me.
That was weird.
She grabs a glass of wine and raises it, smiling at the guests.
"To my comeback!"
We all toast to that.
Heaven graces the room a few minutes later in a hot red dress. The second CJ's mom sees her, she screams hysterically.
The two women clash in an embrace like long-distance lovers. Okay, that was a bit dramatic.
"I have missed you, darling," CJ's mom says sweetly to her, admiring her dress.
