Tochi was the best Student in the time of their junior waec examination, he was eagerly looking forward to sit for the senior secondary school certificate examination and the university matriculation examination after which he will be admitted into the university.
He was very happy in his school where he had teachers he was used to and friends that he studies together with.
Tochi had become a boy that his teachers and parents praise as a good student.
He knew it will be easier and fun for him to pass through secondary school and gain admission into university, if only his parents could afford to register his senior certificate examination.
Tochi had to leave school sometimes to labour for the villagers in their farm land in order to assist his parents in registering his exam.
Tochi is a very hard working boy, he works from farm to farm in order to survive.
He sales vegetables in the village market. It was raining season, Tochi planted garden eggs, vegetables, and other farm produce, mainly cash crops.
In Opanda most men are farmers and fishermen. Their wives help them to move their catches to the huts after keeping awake all night catching fish.
Many of the boys and girls of the village refuse to go to school, they love to go to the river to assist their parents in catching fish and selling to the people who took them to Eke market days for sale.
Eke was the biggest market in that city. The villagers including the neighboring village came to buy fishes and farm produce for their various consumptions. Fish, garden eggs are one of the common things in Eke market day.
They sometimes roast some of the fish when they could not take all to Eke market for sale.
Tochi participated In the market activities because he had to go and sale his farm produce and he makes some money from it.
Tochi loved football so much that he would leave hie reading sometimes and go to the football field to play ball.
Tochi joined local football club called "Young Shall Grow Fc" where he was later graduated and been taken to "Young Stars", sometimes he will go swimming in their local rivers.
Many of those little game especially swimming was daily routine after his homework about 4:pm.
Tochi and his friends will all gather on the sand beach summersaulting, throwing stones to catch fish and playing different pranks on sand, they made castle and played football too.
If any of them was unlucky to get sand into his eyes, it was no longer pleasant, the person would tie his face down in the water to get the sand out. the person would then sit down somewhere and wait till all others were ready to wear their clothes and return home.
On Saturdays, they will all wash their clothes, this must include their school uniform and all other clothes that they wore during the week.
Tochi help his parents to was their clothes including their heavy clothes. Tochi was a good boy that the villagers admired and loved.
