I woke up to find myself alone in the velvet room but I was all cleaned up and dressed in a black night dress.
I felt sore from all the things we did last night. I sat up and picked up my phone to see a text from Isaac
‘Hey dumb dumb. Good morning. Call me as soon as you get this'
I smiled as I read the text and called him. His line rang for a while before he picked up
“Hey sleepy head” he greeted, his voice warm and cheerful.
"Morning, Isaac," I replied, stifling a yawn "What’s up? You sounded urgent in your text."
"Urgent? Nah. I just wanted to check on you. You kind of disappeared all through yesterday and I didn’t hear from you. You never skip school, what's going on?”
