My Father's Best Friend

-Natalie Romano - I stepped into the subway and found a seat smiling widely. I was so excited, I couldn't wait to see my boyfriend today. I had to use the subway instead of letting one of the drivers take me to his place. I was twenty and yet my dad still treated me like a child. He won't let me go anywhere without telling him where I was going and he wouldn’t let me date. But here I was breaking both laws. He would be so mad at me if he found out that I had a boyfriend and I had snuck out to go see him. I loved my dad very much but I could no longer tolerate his overprotectiveness I met Brian in my first year of college and contrary to what my dad had been feeding me about men, he was different and absolutely pleasant and when he asked me out I agreed I was now in my sophomore year and I couldn't believe that we had been together for almost a year. His house was a mere walking distance from the subway station so when I got out I started walking. I couldn’t wait to see the smiles on his face when he saw me. I didn't tell him I was coming over, I wanted my visit to be a surprise. It had been two weeks since I last saw him. I was swamped with school work and the fact that he was a secret didn't make it any easier to see him I approached his door and knocked eagerly waiting for him to open the door with smiles. I knocked again even harder when he didn't answer immediately and waited but still no answer Wasn't he at home? But I picked the time I knew he would definitely be around My hands reached for his door handle, turning it open and it gave way. Why would he go out and leave his door unlocked? Anyways, it was for the better. I could just slip in and wait till he's back, it would add to the surprise for him to come back and see me in his house I walked in and set my bag in the living room and was about to get comfortable when I heard noises coming from inside I let my ears guide me as I made my way to where the noise was coming from. It seemed to be coming from his bedroom and it wasn't noise, there were moans and the slapping of flesh Brian often told me that his friends brought their girlfriends over to his house to have s*x since he was the only one in his friend group that had a house thanks to me, the rest lived in dormitories. This was probably one of those times. That explained why he wasn't around. Was that how I was going to sound when Brian finally took my virginity? I didn't reach his bedroom, I covered my mouth with my hands, muffling my laughter and turned around about to make my way back to the living room when I heard a very familiar voice “You like that huh? Spread those cheeks wider” My laughter died in my throat and my chest thudded loudly. There was no mistaking that voice, it belonged to Brian I turned around and walked back slowly to his bedroom, hoping that what I thought wasn't happening. His bedroom door was open and I saw it Some random girl was bent over his study table holding her ass cheeks open with both hands while Brian was banging her from behind, his pants forming a puddle at his feet “Uhhh, fasterrrr” the girl moaned and Brian grabbed her waist and thrusted into her faster I couldn't believe my eyes, I froze in my spot watching them. It was like my heart was ripped out of my chest and smashed with a hammer into a million and one pieces “Brian,” I whispered but it was loud enough for the both of them to hear. He instantly turned around shocked, withdrawing out of the girl. “Oh my God!!!! Natalie, when did you get here?” he said in shock as they both scampered for their clothes. I turned around to leave and he quickly chased me after putting on his trousers ‘Natty wait. It's not what you think, I can explain” he held my hand and I turned around and slapped him hard across the face “Don't you ever call me Natty and don't you ever try to touch me again” I said, pointing my index finger at him He held the side of his face that I slapped and turned his neck to face me “What the f**k was I supposed to do huh?” He started yelling at me. I was the one supposed to yell after catching him cheating on me red handed but he was the one yelling? “You always wear these baggy clothes and you never let me f**k you. You're always giving me that bullshit excuse of ‘you are not ready yet’,when are you ever going to be ready?” My tears buds started acting up after hearing the words he just screamed out of his mouth. I felt my throat tighten and my tears started pouring uncontrollably “You cheated on me because I wasn't ready to sleep with you?” I shouted back, my vision blurring with my tears. “Where's the Brian who told me that s*x didn't matter to him as long as he had me? Where's the Brian that told me he would wait as long as it took for me to be ready?” He scoffed and ran his hands through his hair. “Natalie, don't be a child. Did you think that I'd be okay with just kissing for hours and touching boobs? I'm sorry Nat but I'm a man Nat, I have needs.” I looked at the man I had fallen for and all I felt was anger and disgust “You're disgusting” I told him clearly, my cheeks hot from the tears streaming down His face melted into fake concern and he walked closer to me. “Natalie, I think you're overreacting. It's just s*x, it doesn't mean anything. I still love you. If you think about this closely, I'm not the only one at fault here; you didn't even tell me you were coming over, if you did you wouldn't have walked in on that. But I'm very forgiving and I won't hold it against you. Let's just pretend all of this didn't happen, okay baby?” He tried to touch my face but I dodged his hand My dad was right about men. They were liars and manipulators I wiped my tears and looked at Brian. “You know what? Since all of this is my fault, I should do you the favor of removing myself from your life. Clearly I'm not what you need” I said and headed over to the living room to pick my things “Don't you dare do what I think you're about to do. No one will put up with your bullshit like I do, you're going to regret it” Brian yelled, his expression shifted to anger “Then let me regret it. It's over, Brian” I picked up my bag and headed to the front door “At least pay for the rent before you leave, it'll be due in two weeks” he said and i shook my head “f**k you!!!!!” I roared and walked out of his house, slamming the front door
