BEFORE THE BEGINNING
Chapter 1
You broke up with mum thrice?
I could see the shock on his face as I told him this words. Perhaps he didn't expect his dad to be a bad ass while growing up.
Yes son I did, and it's a very long story. It's high time you heard about my teen years. Hurry, go get me my favourite soft drink and we'll come back to discuss everything as it happened.
Jordan quickly hurried up to get my favorite soft drink, and as he went, different thoughts beclouded his mind. "Dad?? No not dad, he looks like the nicest person on earth". He was so lost in thoughts and anxious to hear the whole story that he forgot to bring the drinks opener. Of course, I was the traditional old dad that preferred the old bottled drinks to cans or whatever new look it now takes.
'Sorry dad, let me quickly go get the opener', Jordan said as he got ready to go. Don't worry son, come sit right next to me. Jordan looked anxiously as I carried the bottle of the cold Pepsi, I used my teeth to remove the cork of the bottle. "Dad! Don't do that next time it could get you injured " don't worry my son, we've been doing that since the early years nothing has happened to us, I replied with an old smile on my face. "Tell me everything dad and don't miss anything, we have the whole day to ourselves". But of course my son, I said as I rubbed his head.
Zara, my lovely wife had gone out with my beautiful daughters Zoey and Michelle probably for ladies stuffs.
It was on a sunday, and I was home alone with my First child Jordan, very inquisitive and always eager to learn new things,he reminded me of my prime self, vibrant, young and enthusiastic.
Power holding company popularly known as NEPA refused to restore the light, I mean, how won't they? It was a sunday, everyone knows there's always light on Sundays. 'Later they'll place high tariff on electricity', I hissed and shook my head as this thought crossed my mind.
The house was beginning to get boring, and sadly true Jordan was right, we have the whole day to ourselves. My girls won't come home on time, all this ladies stuffs,it takes too long.
I and Zara have been married for 22 years now, we live comfortably with our children in our cozy three bedroom apartment in the city of uyo, in the South southern parts of Nigeria.
I was happy I had everything I wanted. My parents are doing great, enjoying their old ages in the comfort of each others arms. My sisters too are happily married.
