"Us against the world" ang drama nina Maui at Zeth. Legal na ampon sa pamilya ng babae ang lalaki - adoptive brother niya ito. At kahit hindi naman sila magkadugo, tutol ang mga magulang nila sa relasyon nilang dalawa. Dahil sa mata ng karamihan at sa mata ng batas, bawal ang pag-iibigan nila.
Nang gabing itatanan dapat siya ni Zeth at naghihintay siya sa meeting place nila, isang trahedya ang nangyari. Naaksidente ang lalaki at critical ang kondisyon nito until the doctor announced that he's brain dead. He won't wake up anymore because the brain stopped working. At oras na tanggalin ang life support nito, tuluyan na itong mamamatay.
Maui was torn between holding on to him and letting him go. May naging kasunduan kasi sila ni Zeth noon na kapag may nangyaring masama sa lalaki, ido-donate ang organs nito - partikular na ang puso nito. At hindi siya handa roon.
It was time to make decision. Even if it was hard and killing her inside, she let him go. And she didn't even bother to ask who was the recipient of his heart. He was gone. At kasama ang puso nito sa nawalang iyon.
Walang minahal si Maui gaya ng pagmamahal niya kay Zeth. Until she met Primitivo Larkin Balvedia. He was the exact opposite of her first love. Elusive and heartless. Kung hindi pa niya naramdaman na may tumitibok sa dibdib ng lalaki, iisipin niya talagang heartless ito - literally.
