Chapter five

EARLIER THAT DAY.

When Luke Cage jumped down from his office through the window in his wolf form to run in order to cool down his restless wolf and his angry self.

He was running, when he came to a spot ,he perceived Mariana's scent but it was faint indicating that she was around or she was there before.his wolf was so excited when it perceived her scent.Luke's wolf was in control because he was in his wolf form.he started following the scent of Mariana to find out where she was,the further he took a step,the more the scent gets stronger indicating that she was around but where could she be.

He continued to follow her scent till he saw himself in front of a hospital"SUNSHINE HOSPITAL"

Luke was fighting with his wolf ever since he perceived her scent,he finally won,he was in control and he switched over to his human body.He was so angry,he hated this feeling ,he hated it when he was fighting with his wolf.it was like fighting with one's self.He hated this mate bond, she shouldn't have appeared in his life.his mind was in turmoil.

He turned around to Leave the hospital but his wolf kept on whispering"Mate"Mate"Mate".it was in pain,this affected Luke too,it seemed like his soul was tearing apart."f**k"he cursed clenching his fists,he went into the hospital with anger.he followed her scent,her scent was stronger inside the hospital.

Finally he reached a spot,he could perceive her scent well,her scent filled the surrounding,he searched with his eyes till he saw a young lady kneeling on the floor, crying and begging a man dressed in white he thought to be the doctor.The doctor was not listening to her.

Luke could hear their conversation well because he was a werewolf,he had ability in hearing things although he was standing far from them."what trouble has this woman gotten herself into,?"he thought to himself.

"I'm sorry miss,we can not do anything about it,"the doctor said to Mariana and left, Mariana was left alone crying helplessly."

"Mate"his wolf whispered in pain.Luke hated to admit it but he was in pain when he saw Mariana in that condition."f**k this stupid mate bond"he cursed hitting his knuckles on the wall."weak humans"he mumbled when he saw that Mariana was still crying."why do I have to be mated with a weak being?this is unbelievable."

He hated people that are weak and watching Mariana crying was not doing him any good,he left the scene although his wolf was in pain.

The doctor was in his office going through some documents when he heard a knock on the door."come in".

The door opened and the doctor looked up and saw a handsome young man coming towards him."whoah"the doctor exclaimed."Aren't you Luke Cage the owner of Dynamic enterprises"."yes I am"Luke replied with no expression on his face.

The doctor could not believe what he was hearing"Am I dreaming"he asked pinching Luke's hand."am not dreaming"the doctor exclaimed happily laughing like a maniac.

The doctor realized himself when he saw Luke glaring at him."seems you've forgotten that you are a doctor and you need to attend to people,why are humans so stupid.?"

"I'm sorry ,the doctor apologized immediately."I was just thrilled and excited,I never thought a day would come when I will meet you in person,I only see you in television and internet,you are my son's role model and he is studying business administration in the university now, everyone in my family loves you"the doctor was so happy.

"Really,well let's go straight to the topic,to the main reason am here today."Luke who was not interested in his story said to him."yh,ok but can I get your autograph,you know,my entire family will be glad, this day that I met you would be a memorable in our life's,I will make sure to hang your autograph in my house."the doctor said handing a paper to Luke,his face beaming with smiles.

Luke was already annoyed,this doctor was seriously getting on his nerves.he cleared his throat."since you don't want to do it in the easiest way,let's do it the hard way,you know am a busy person"he said sitting down.

The doctor was confused"I 'm sorry"he apologized sitting down.Lukes eyes turned red."so, why are you here?"the doctor asked raising his head to look at Luke.

Immediately his eyes came in contact with Luke's eyes,he was put in a trance,he was still, staring at Luke without moving his body."Now tell me the reason why the young lady that was with you earlier was crying.

The doctor started narrating about Mariana and her twin sister's ailment and how she couldn't raise the money needed for her twin's operation.

"So how much are we talking about?"he asked."$5 million."the doctor replied."give me the bank details"Luke ordered.the doctor brought out his phone and sent it to him.Luke brought out his phone and transferred $10 million to the account from one of his numerous accounts which didn't bear his name.

Luke brought his face closer to the doctor's face,the doctor was still in a trance, staring in the doctor's eyes."Now listen to me,A good man paid for Mariana's sister's hospital bills,he is just a good Samaritan who loves to help the needy,the good man paid extra for her sister's treatment incase you need anything, treat her sister well, make sure she survives,you never met Luke Cage today,he is just a person you love watching on the television,you never knew Good men still existed in this world."

After compelling the doctor ,he sensed that someone was coming because he heard the sound of footsteps, his eyes turned back to his normal eye color and the spell broke but he was fast to switch to his wolf form and jumped through the window.

The doctor was brought back to reality."thought someone was here"he said to himself scratching his head trying to remember but he couldn't remember anything,the only thing he could remember was that a good man paid for Mariana's sister's hospital bill.there was a knock on the door pulling him out from his thoughts ."come in"he said."

The door opened and a nurse came in."Good day sir".she greeted."what's it"the doctor asked."I wanted to tell you that the patient in ward 4 is having a seizure"."ok we will handle it but I want you to inform that young lady Mariana Peters that her sister's bill has been cleared.we will start an operation on her soon."ok sir"the nurse replied and left the office.

The doctor packed up the necessary things he needed and ran out of his office.

Luke has switched over to his human body.he brought out his phone and dialed Hector's number."get rid of the CCTV footage in sunshine hospital"he ordered when the call went through."consider it done Alpha"Hector replied and the call ended.

Luke heaved a sigh of relief,his wolf was now silent,he was happy for helping his mate.he picked out a cigarette from the box and lit it up,he put it in his mouth and smoked admiring the nature.

He was on a tree in a forest ,he was at peace with himself.he closed his eyes,his back rested against the tree.
