Hector arrived immediately because Luke had mind linked him.when he saw the unconscious lady Luke was carrying.he became curious
"What's going on here ?"he asked."This is not the time to ask questions,we have to take her to the hospital."Luke replied.
"Okay"He replied him.They headed to the hospital in their car.earlier when he was passing with Hector to go to his car.The workers were all staring at him
They were wondering who the lady their boss was carrying was.They had never seen their boss carry a woman like that.This was the first time it was happening.
When they arrived at the hospital.she was admitted.the doctor performed a checkup on her,he gave her some injections too.
"Is she okay now?"Luke asked the doctor who nodded."she is fine now,she just need to stay here for a few days to check her condition thoroughly,she caught a cold and unhealthy diet too,she doesn't eat well,you should advice her to eat more of vegetables than junk food and she shouldn't stress herself too much,we also found out that she had difficulty in breathing before passing out, According to our findings,someone tried to strangle her before she passed out,I think we should involve the police."The doctor explained.
"Thanks for your help but you just do your job and that's to treat her,you can't be a doctor and an investigation officer, we will let you know when you are needed, thanks"Luke said to the doctor.As soon as the doctor mentioned about strangling,Hector gave Luke a suspicious look.
"Okay sir,I will be on my way now,call me when you need me"he said and left.Hector and Luke we're now alone.
"What really happened?"Hector asked Luke."Nothing much"Luke replied."don't tell me nothing much Luke,How did you end up with that lady?,did you know her before?,is she one of your s*x toys?"Hector asked impatiently which irritated Luke.he hated it when he was being questioned.
"Mind how you talk to me and don't ask me stupid questions"Luke replied in an authoritative voice which can make werewolves to bow down to him.
Hector laughed"who are you using that tone on,Have you forgotten that am not a wolf like you,am a vampire,that tone can't work on me,I am your beta because I am your friend and I am loyal to you and not because I see you as my Alpha,so cut it out,that tone doesn't work on me.
Luke didn't reply him."I am talking to you now as a friend and not because you are Superior to me or the fact that you are my boss,I really missed the days when we were like brothers."Hector added.
"We are still brothers"Luke replied patting his shoulders and Hector smiled.
"Can't we let aside any work stuffs or anything ,let's talk like brothers,let's talk freely like how we used to, just for today"Hector demanded.
"Sure"Luke replied."so what do you want know about the lady"Luke asked."I want to know what exactly happened between you two"Hector replied.
"Nothing much happened,she happens to be my mate"Luke replied."what?"he was shocked."yeah"Luke added."so you have found your mate and you kept it from me"
"When did I start telling you things"Luke asked and Hector laughed."you have not changed a bit Luke"
"So tell me why are you so interested to know about her,did you know her before?'Luke asked staring in another direction.
"You are right,I know her but not personally,I love her and I am trying to make her mine"he replied.
Luke's wolf was not happy with this,he was jealous."what did you say?"he asked,the beast in him waking up.
Seeing his reaction, Hector started laughing raising his hands up,"come on dude,I am not a threat to you,I loved her,yeah,I fell in love with her for the first time I saw her and that's why I chose her to be the face of our new company product"he replied.
Luke raised squinted his eye"The face of our new company product, Don't Tell me......before Luke could finish his sentence,Hector cut in"yes you are right,she is the girl I gave contract,I don't have to woo her anymore since she is your mate,I surrender,I can't take what's not mine although I really love that girl"Hector added.
"Wait,you mean she is the actress you gave contract,so that means I will be seeing her often in this company."Luke was already getting annoyed with what he found out.
"Yes,I see that you are happy,you will be seeing your mate around."Hector replied.
"Who says am happy, infact you have to terminate that contract,I don't want to see her anywhere near my company"he told Hector who was surprised.
"We can't just terminate the contract like that,the girl's heart will break into pieces"Hector replied him but Luke didn't not say any word to him again.
After some minutes of silence.Hector decided to break the silence."so are you rejecting her because I know that you hate relationship.
Luke didn't reply him,his eyes was closed.after some minutes,he spoke up"who says am rejecting her"
Hector was surprised."I thought you don't believe in love"
"I am not all those weak Alphas that reject their mate,my name is Luke Cage,I won't reject my mate and saying I won't reject her doesn't mean that I will love her,I will make life miserable for her,she will regret being mated to me, unfaithful creatures."Luke pointed out.
"Don't talk like that, please don't hurt her,she didn't do anything wrong ,all women are not the same"Hector tried to reason with him.
"Just shut up,all women are the same,they just want money and fame, nothing else"he replied.
Hector didn't want to argue with him again because he knew that if he continued,it will end up in talking about Luke's parents which will make Luke turn feral.
"What If she rejects you?"Hector asked.Luke didn't reply him, realizing that Luke ignored him, something came up in his mind.
"Want to hunt"Hector suggested."sure"Luke added."it's been long"he added and the left the hospital.
