Mislead: Episode 43

1506 Words
Everyone was shocked to hear such words coming from Tyrone. "So how will we turn the tide of this war" "This is great! We can cut down the number of lives at stake" Dean reacted. "Go on spill it" Sarah reacted with an eager look on her face. "My dream went like this" "It started blank then everything just popped out. The next thing I knew I was in the middle of the war between angels and demons" "I grabbed a sword and tried to swing it to a demon but it just went past it" Tyrone said "That's the point, you knew it was a dream right?" Samantha asked interrupting Tyrone's story telling. "Yeah, but an angel swoop down and started conversing with me" "We soar high into the sky to get a better glimpse of the situation" "The battle went like these demons and angels were slacking. The moment I saw it like what the f**k, there's a war going on and they were just sitting there doing nothing" "Weird right" Tyrone said. "Maybe they were resting" Sarah reacted. "Yeah but why in the center of the battlefield. Like only a few feet you can see a duel happening but they don't care at all" Tyrone said. "Maybe there is more to it? A plan to lure the opposing side" "They may look helpless but maybe it's a trap" Samantha reacted. "Yeah it was a trap and I learned it the hard way" "But you know what's sad. Angels and demons have no free will at all" "Like they were all machines following their programs" "I was confident since the angels had the numbers to overwhelm the demons so I insisted them to strike fast so they could get the demons while off guard" "Big mistake, the demons were only at standby. The moment the angels made their move undead raise from the ground" "Angels died because of my foolishness but I learned something from that dream" Tyrone said with an enlightened look on his face. "So what's the secret in turning the tides?" Maximus asked. "Were you not listening!" Sarah said with one eyebrow raised. "I did that's why I am asking duh" "He forgot the lesson he had learned" Maximus said. "What a dummy" Sarah said as she roles her eyes at him. "You see Max, Tyrone learned to analyze the situation first so he won't make another rush decision" Samantha said. "Thanks Sam" Maximus said with such appreciation. "Not only that" "Every decision counts. You may succeed with your plan but you should also look into the possible effects" "It may benefit us right know but what about the succeeding days?" Tyrone said His question then sunk deep into the group making them think hard. "How about this" "So you are saying that a problem can have multiple solutions but each one has a different effect on the future events?" a student exclaimed. "Exactly" Tyrone reacted as he nods his head. "I think we are over thinking this too much" "At my perspective, yes, every problem have multiple solutions but solving the problem at hand only matters" "Let's say solving the problem and a new problem pops out. Is it just like a cycle" "Just one problem at a time" another student said. "What if your actions resulted into multiple problems each scalates quickly" Maximus raised a question. "As I said, just address the problem one at a time" "Surely the problems are not all the same. Time, gravity of the situation, and even task to accomplish may have different variations" the student answered. "He is right" "We should only focus at the problem at hand" "It would be risky if we think too deep in a problem especially the state we are in" "We need outcome fast cause lives are at stake here" Dean said. "Also no one can look into the future to know the effect" the student added. Everyone was enlightened of the discussion and it just continued rolling. ---------------------------------------- Somewhere in the wastelands. Mariposa just got her consciousness back. Her mind was a bit hazy making her dizzy and unable to move. "Where am I?" a question she asked herself. She tried recalling her thoughts but it just gave her a massive headache. Having no strength and no recent memory, she just laid her back on the ground and look at the clear blue sky. "It sure is peace here" she exclaimed. She was calmed by this soothing atmosphere and bit by bit her haziness was completely lifted. She sits up and scan the area throughly. She's a bit unfamiliar of the area so she find higher grounds. On top of a hill she gave it another thorough scan of the area but she has no clue of her current location. Using wind magic, she soar to the sky only to see a huge scourging crater. Her head then started aching as she remembers some of her recent thoughts. "No" she said as her tears pour out of her eyes. She recall a man standing up for her just so she could flee. Frustrated, because she cannot even remember her savior's name. "Oh no! The kids" Mariposa said in a very distressful tone. Using wind magic she burst into the sky and flew straight to the city of Metro. The look of greif on her face the moment she saw the city. The buildings were all destroyed and there is no sign of live nearby. "I am too late" she blamed herself. "Pity" a manly voice said. Mariposa immediately felt this eerie feeling making her shiver. She looked around, up and down only to no one. "Am I hearing things?" a question she asked herself. "Nah! I am just exhausted from all this flying" "Better to take some rest and just continue the search later" she said as she descends. She walked around a bit and found this somehow intact cafe. It somehow looks abandoned so she just help herself in. She walked straight into the kitchen and open all the drawers and cabinets. She found several can goods, bottles of preservatives, and even clean drinking water. "What a haul" she exclaimed as she gathers all the items in one location. She grabs a table cloth then carried all the items with her. Loud thuding sounds then came outside the kitchen. The sound keeps on going but slowly getting softer and softer. Mariposa had a bad feeling about it so she grabbed a piece of metal. She creeped her way towards the door and waited for someone or something to pounce in. The door then slammed open so she immediately pound the metal onto the infiltrators head. The man immediately noticed so he manage to move his head away hitting his should instead. With Mariposa's force she manage to slam the man to the ground "What was that for?" the man said in a pissed manner. "Sorry, I thought you were a demon" Mariposa said as she offers the man a helping hand. "Next time don't go barging in like that" Mariposa added. "Well ... Sorry!" "First, you tresspass in my shop" "Second, you hit me" "And it seems you are stealing my goods" the man with a suspicious look on his face. "Sorry I didn't know that these thinf belong to you" "I was just looking for a place to rest and my search led me here" "I thought everyone flee" Mariposa explained. "Flee" the man said with a disgusted look on his face. "If you don't mind me asking how many days passed since the invasion?" Mariposa asked. "I can't remember" "I just recently wake up from a coma only to see the city put into ruin" "The lasting I remembered is that I was assisting my customers to the underground passage way" the man informed. "A passage way" "Can you please show me?" Mariposa eagerly replied. She was thrilled to find a new hope about the students location. -------------------------------------------- Under ground passage way entrance. After traversing the tunnel they reached a dead end. Several huge boulders were blocking the path. Mariposa unleashed a gust of wind trying to dismantle the boulders blocking the path. It was too heavy for them to move also her wind magic isn't strong enough to blew them away. "Are there any other routes beside than this?" Mariposa asked "I can't remember" "After the incident I just remained here and search the area for more useable items" "Is there someone you are looking for?" the man asked. "No one in particular but my friend's dying wish instructed me to look out for the kids" "I just want to repay him since he saved my life" Mariposa answered. "If you want we could lit my gas tank" "I think the explosion is enough to shatter the boulders blocking the path" "If I remember it correctly LPG vapor is explosive. Maybe with the aid of your wind magic we could easily spread the vapor" the man said in a somehow scientific way.
