After several minutes of walking Mark finally arrived at the city’s western wall. Using wind magic he easily hovers above it and from the top of the wall he looks at the city with an expressionless look on his face. The city is all run down and several bodies of his fallen comrades are scattered all over the place. He didn't even flinch upon seeing the lifeless bodies.
“Wind Creation Magic: Mystical Whirlwind” Mark casted then a current of gushing wind blew around the city lifting only the bodies of his fallen comrades and civilians
The whirlwind continues until all bodies are carried to the city’s square which is located at the center. With wind magic Mark then levitates and flew above the pile of bodies
“Wind Destruction Magic: Stream of Crushing Wind” Mark casted then the mystical whirlwind he casted earlier swirl around the bodies crushing anything that touches it
“Help!” Someone shouted desperately
Mark immediately notices where the voice came from and sees some movement but he just stares at it with an expressionless look on his face. The whirlwind then increases speed crushing the bodies way faster.
“Help! Help!” The same voices shouting from the top of his lungs yet Mark was just levitating and couldn’t careless
A few minutes passed and all the bodies were crushed, blood and grinded meat were piled in the center. With a move of a finger wind blew from the center outwards. This was used to drive away the scent of human blood and meat.
Some of the fallen demons started to rise up and flew towards the town square
“Feast, so you can replenish your strength”
“The war has just begun” Mark said in a demonic voice
“Oh dear oh dear”
“The sin of sloth finally doing his job?”
“What happened to you Belphegor?” A voice said in a teasing manner
“Shut the f**k up Satan or you will be next” Mark said then wind started encircling Satan
“You two cut it out”
“Let us just find the others and head out, Master is demanding an audience with him” Asmodeus said
“I only sense few concentrated mana”
“Besides us, who has awakened?” Mark asked
“Satan and I which are taking a break after facing Gabriel and Chamuel” Asmodeus said
“So looks like the angels reincarnated as well” Mark said as he creases his chin
“Proceed” He added
“Mammon you is breaching the enemies base now” Asmodues said
“Yeah I sensed him earlier I think he is in a tight spot right now because he just unleashed his battle beast”
“Maybe angel incarnates are swarming there” Mark said
“He can handle that” Satan murmured
“What about Lucifer, Beelzebub, and Leviathan?”
“I can’t sense them” Mark asked
“Lucifer and Beelzebub are surging the other city earlier”
“Maybe looking for the hidden transcripts about the ancient civilization”
“About Leviathan I did sense her faintly but it quickly vanished”
“It is just a hunch but I think she isn’t fully reincarnated yet” Asmodeus informed
“Now we must head out”
“Just leave the army here” Asmodeus said
The three demon lord flew back to the mountains
Somewhere outside the rundown safe zone Draxx and Sora are resting
“Master I can sense demonic presence close by but they are not potential threats should I wipe them out?” Kirin as telepathically
“No need, let us just rest for a while so we can regain our strength”
“We will dealt with the demons on our way” Draxx ordered
“Kirin how out you hide first so you can rest properly”
“I’ll just call you out when the situation is dire” Draxx proposed
Kirin unmanifest itself to conserve mana
“As for you” Draxx said to himself as he looks at Sora’s unconscious body
Then Draxx sees some movements as if Sora is having a horrible nightmare. He quickly lounges towards Sora's side and tries waking her. Upon touching Sora’s skin Draxx immediately pulled his hand off as if he touched something hot. Draxx takes a good long look at his hands as he endures the burning sensation he is currently feeling
“Draxx” Sora weakly said
“Yes Sora!” Draxx said as he reaches out for Sora once more but still she was piping hot
“Draxx go! I can’t contained this monster anymore” Sora said in a fluctuating demonic voice
Kirin immediately manifested itself
“Kirin, what's happening to her?” Draxx worriedly asked
“As what Golpo said earlier she is the host of a demon lord” Kirin with a menacing look at its face
“Is there a way to undo it?” Draxx worriedly asked
“What is bound to happen cannot be unchanged”
“Father planned this and His will must be done”
“The only thing that we can do now is to kill her to end her suffering and stop the demon lord to reincarnate” Kirin said as it charges a beam of concentrated lightning magic on its horn
“I won’t let you!” Draxx said as he stands in front of Kirin’s line of fire
“Kill her now or let the demon lord reincarnate and seek havoc on this land once more?”
“She is not the person you know who she is”
“She has been corrupted by the demon’s grasp which is eating her inside out”
“So please Master step a side” Kirin seriously said
“As your master I command your to back down”
“Sora is still Sora no matter what has gotten into her”
“She is the strongest and competent person I know”
“So please Kirin back down and let me handle this” Draxx said then tears starts to shed from his eyes
“But Draxx she’s a demon lord” Kirin worriedly said
“But she’s still a close friend to me” Draxx stubbornly said
Kirin unmanifest itself then said telepathically
“I was just trying to help”
After a few second Draxx immediately divert his attention towards Sora
“Draxx you should have listen to Kirin”
“I can’t handle this longer” Sora said as she grows weaker and weaker
“Just hold on for a little bit Sora”
“We will figure out a way eventually” Draxx said with a hesitant look on his face
Somewhere in the underground passageway Sarah together with the rest of the group finally find a decent place to set camp. All of them are exhausted and some even passed out.
“Water Healing Magic:” Sarah was about to cast a huge area healing spell but Maximus stopped her
“It is not necessary to cast anymore more spells”
“We are all burned out. We should only take some rest and everyone will be back to their tip top shape in no time”
“So there is no need for you to use your mana”
“You should sit down for a while and we will be the ones to guard first” Maximus said as he assist Sarah to the corner
“You there, rally up all men”
“We will start discussing about the advancement from here on out” Maximus ordered
Once everyone is all settled down Maximus starts giving insights about his plan.
Maximus' plan was to make a search party to locate the remaining frontliners that were left to slow the demons down. He wants to go back there and check if there are any survivors which the majority disagreed upon because it is foolish to go back there in their current condition. Others suggested that the best course of action is to stay here and use Maximus’ earth magic to fortify the walls, create parties that will have turns to guard the passageway, tend the wounded and injured, and finally prepare for another onslaught.
A student tried calming Maximus and he should not be worried about the frontliners because they will be here soon.
“All of the frontliners are capable and competent of their skill that’s why they decided to stay.”
“The only thing we can do now is to take turns guarding while the others rest”
“Tyrone and the others will be alright, okay” She said in a cheerful manner
Somewhere in the plains, Dean and Samantha are making a run from the demons until the ground starts collapsing, making them plummet into an underground passageway. With some minor scratches both of them manage to get back on their feet.
Dean concentrates light magic which created a floating sphere of light that brightens a portion of passage way
“Sam!” Dean reacted as soon as the passageway is filled with light
Statues of seven winged entities that resemble angels are formed around a circular manner several feet away from a huge hole.
The two got curious so they decided to take a close look at it
As they approached the statues they felt that something was lurking in the shadows.
“Light Destruction Magic: Holy Rays of Light” Dean casted a random spell that scattered all over the place
The rays of light then embedded itself into the walls illuminating the entire area. They searched all over the place but they didn’t see anyone. Because of the rays of light the hole become more visible but the inside remained dark and hollow
