Awakening: Episode 39

After Dean and Samantha scout the entire area, Dean has an uneasy look on his face as if something bothers him. Samantha noticed it so she tried calming him down. “What’s the matter?” “You look pale.” “Are you alright?” Samantha worriedly asked. “Don’t worry, I am fine” “I just have this eerie feeling, that's all.” “Like we are being watched” Dean said as he looked all over the place with his peripheral vision. “Maybe you’re just tired.” “How about we sit for a while and take a rest sitting?” “And please deactivate one of your spells. It must be draining a lot of mana to sustain such spells”, he asked in a concerned manner. “Okay, but first I'll just take a peek at what’s inside that hole” Dean said as he walked closer to the hole. Using the sphere of light, he slowly lowers it down to the hole, but upon reaching the hole’s entrance, it vanishes. Then ancient scriptures made of light magic just pop out into thin air. “A barrier!” Dean mutters with a dismayed look on his face. “Let’s get a move on Sam.” “This place is bad news for both of us” “Magic is being nullified by those ancient scripts” “Maybe what lies beneath that barrier should remain there.” “Let’s go” Dean said, then he took his leave. “Dean! Wait!” Samantha shouted. “What could be under there?” “Even a portion of my light didn’t manage to pass through” “What could possibly be down there that needs to be sealed using a formidable barrier like that?” Dean asked himself. As they walk further away, the rays of light slowly vanish, leaving a trail of pure darkness behind them. Somewhere in the plains, Sora is screaming and making tantrums because she can’t take it anymore. The demon is suppressing her will, slowly devouring her inside out. “Draxx run!” “I can't handle it anymore.” “Leave!” Sora furiously shouted. “I won’t leave you!” “Not in this state” Draxx stubbornly said as he wielded his sacred gear. “Lightning Destruction Magic: Divine Nimbus”, Draxx casted a spell which turned the sky dark. “Draxx!” Sora shouts, then suddenly she turns silent. It made Draxx trouble some as he took a good long look from a distance. Seems Sora is not budging at all. “Sora!” Draxx repeatedly shouts, but Sora is not moving. “Sora” Draxx said as he slowly crept towards Sora. As soon as Draxx is several feet away from Sora’s unconscious body, he immediately jumps backwards and summons Kirin. Sora begins levitating to her feet then extends her hand towards Draxx as if she is insisting Draxx hold it. “What’s the matter, Draxx?” “Aren’t you happy to see me well?” Sora said with a frown on her face. “Don’t toy with me, demon!” “What have you done to Sora?” Draxx furiously asked. “Draxx! Run!” Sora shouted. Then she covers her mouth using her hand, then says “Opsie that kinda slipped” followed by sticking her tongue out Lightning then struck down from the clouds above, directly hitting Sora. Thick smoke oozed out from the explosion covering a large scale of the area. “Is that how you treat your friend?” Sora said as the smoke flowed away from her. As soon as the smoke clears, Sora was just there standing on shattered ground and she’s unscathed. She now has these wings covered with thick scales which she has used to block an attack. “Kirin” Draxx said to grab Kirin’s attention. “Why become so tense all of a sudden?” “I have moved an inch from where I am standing and here you are about to double team me.” “Unfair!” Sora ranted as she stomped her feet on the ground. “Since you are being unfair, how about I unleash my beast as well, so you won't get lonely.” “Arise the Monster from the Deepest of the Sea: Cascades” Sora said, then a huge whirlpool materialized in front of them. A huge sea creature with two snakelike arms then came out of it. Somewhere in the underground passageway, Tyrone with the rest of the survivors are on their way towards the new campsite. “Not now!” Tyrone said to himself as he felt a stinging sensation in his upper right rib cage. He stayed calm and continued traversing the tunnel until his body gave up on him, making him stumble on the ground. Everyone started panicking and immediately picked him up and let him lean on the wall. “Tay! Tay!” Everyone shouts at him as his sights starts to fade as if he is losing consciousness “Where am I?” Tyrone asked himself as he walked into nothingness. He continues to walk on a straight path, but what he only sees is a continuous path heading into more nothingness. After a while, several colored lights filled the sky. The path that he was standing on changed into a war zone where craters, fire, smoke, and debris covered its land. A group of angels flying above him are all heading forward and in front of him were a flock of demons. The two groups started clashing and Tyrone tried using fire magic but he couldn’t. Being so helpless, he decided to hide. The big question is where? Every spot has its own battle and, by the looks of it, he can’t defend himself using his bare hands. With everything he got, he tried evading anyone as much as possible and tried even blending in just to go unnoticed. After several attempts at making a run for it, he saw and grabbed it. The sword is emitting light, which leads Tyrone to the conclusion that it must be from an angel. The sword was a bit heavy, making it difficult for Tyrone to swing it. He gives it a whirl and it manages to stick a demon but it just passes through. Tyrone managed to get a glimpse of what was happening so he tossed the sword and tried touching the angels and demons barehand. “Just as I thought this was not real”, Tyrone exclaimed as his hands passed right through the demons. “So this is all just an illusion.” “But why exactly? I clearly don’t understand the purpose of all of this”, Tyrone said to himself. With the knowledge of living in an illusion, Tyrone continued walking around the area. Several hours later, a new army of angels arrived. It was composed of healers and marksmen. Not long after, the demon army is easily wiped out and the angels quickly advance. Tyrone was then mesmerized by what he had just seen. An armorless angel but has the courage to march on the front lines. Out of excitement, he rushes towards the angel, disregarding all the entities in front of him as he passes right through them. As he gets closer, Tyrone becomes more agitated and starts questioning himself. “Calm down Tyrone, why are you getting so worked up?” “He clearly can’t see you, so just get your ass there already.” After several deep breaths, Tyrone has the courage to continue “Great you have arrived” the angel said. Tyrone was speechless since he thought that everything was only an illusion. He didn’t expect that the angel would interact with him. “Just where in the world am I?” “Is this heaven? Am I dead?” Tyrone asked the angel. “No, I summoned you here because more is still in store for you and your people.” “Father expects great things from creation” the angel said, then grabbed Tyrone by the waist. Tyrone’s composed face was immediately wiped off the moment the angel touched his broken ribs. The angel quickly notices and decides to heal it. A flame then lit from the angel’s hand which he used to rub Tyrone’s ribs. “Strange, his flames are not hot at all. It is warm but not too warm to burn me”, Tyrone said, as if he was enjoying it. The flame then vanishes and the relieved look on Tyrone’s face means it was effective. The angel once again grabbed Tyrone’s waist then took off. “What could your intent be? Surely you have something to say to me?” “Now is the best time to tell me, my friends are waiting for me”. Tyrone said “We will get there, but now I want you to look around” the angel said. Tyrone just obeyed and scouted the situation in front of him. “What could have been his intention of showing me such a thing?” “I get it, demons and angels are enemies, but why?” thoughts inside Tyrone’s head.
