Gathering: Episode 1

The city Metro is on full alert after one of the demon lords terrorized the city. The student’s of the Biblia Academy were scattered all across town to check the boundaries. Jane the top ranking marksman decides to get a quick detour. She heads to the nearby event where different food stalls are set up. Ryzen, Jane’s leader is pissed off at her action so he sends Luis the top ranking assassin to keep a close eye on her. Several hours have passed and Jane ate too much so she starts to vomit everything she ate.
“That’s what happens when you over ate.”
“Be more careful next time.” Luis says as he pats Jane’s back to give her comfort. She continues to vomit everything she ate
After vomiting, Jane has this cheerful expression on her face. She flexes her muscles to show Luis that she can handle herself. Luis assisted her to sit on a bench and rested for a while. Several minutes later and Jane managed to get back to her feet. She stands up and heads back to the food stalls
“How could you eat in a time like this?” Luis ranted.
Jane just ignored him and continued stuffing her mouth.
Luis cannot take it anymore. With a disgusted look in his face, he said.
“That’s it I am outta here!”
And as expected Jane did not even bother saying a word. Luis went on his way with an upset look in his face. Several minutes later someone approach Jane’s table and said
“Looks like you also love eating” Alice says as she places her plateful of food on the table.
“Why are you all alone? Where’s Ms. Lora?” Jane ask but her words weren’t clear because her mouth is full
“Her? Well, Chris and her went to Citadel together.”
“Don’t tell anyone but I think they are dating or something” Alice whispered.
Alice noticed that Jane’s plate is almost empty, so she offered her food. Jane did not think twice in accepting it. Jane shoves her empty plate away then pulls Alice’s plate to her.
“Thanks,” Jane said, then she immediately scarfed down the food.
After several seconds she stopped chewing then she touches her forehead
“Are you okay?” Alice seems worried.
Jane shoves the food away then runs the opposite way.
“Jane, wait!” Alice shout then she chases her.
Back at Citadel
“Did anyone of you saw Sora?” I asked the mages with a regretful look on my face.
Everyone has this clueless expression on their faces. I guess no one knew where on earth they were. With lightning fast-speed I head back to the spice shop we went earlier, but I see no trace of them. I roam the nearby streets maybe I will have a better chance in finding them. I started to overthink
“Surely with Alice’s combat skills and Lora’s ice barrier they can’t ever be captured” a thought inside my head then something popped out of my head.
“Unless one of them is the enemy,” I said with an enlightened look on my face.“That wind magic that we came across while travelling.”
“Alice then warned me of an attack because she wanted me out of plain sight and captured another elemental user. Maybe that’s the reason why Commander went rogue because he is being manipulated of some sort.”
“Alice was holding back all this time. If she is really the one behind that mask. She can definitely take down the twins.”
“But when did she casted that illusion spell? I should have sensed magic. Not unless she casted it during the whirlwind and used that concealing spell to hide herself.”
“But if Alice were together right before the attack was an illusion. Why didn’t I notice it? Yeah, I was caught up by Sora ignoring me” I said followed by a sigh.
“What happened to you Chris? You should know better!” I started blaming myself
I was completely lost in my thoughts then I saw Alice together with a lady and a bunch of kids. I rub my eyes thinking I might be just seeing things.
“Chris! Over here!” Alice shouted.
“Looks like Alice is fine. I wonder where the twins went” I said as I walked towards them.
“Chris have you seen Lora and Sora?”
“We got separated during the earthquake. I left them in an alley because I heard distant screams. When I returned to fetch them, they were nowhere to be seen” Alice worriedly said.
“But I did manage to save an old friend of mine. She’s name is Clarissa and she’s also a headmaster in a school.” With an excited look on her face she grabs my wrist and dragged me towards Clarissa
With a confused look on my face I started at Alice’s hand and start questioning her in my mind
“Something’s off! Alice will never touch a man”
I remain silent for a while as I sink deeper in my thoughts
“Clarissa, this is Chris, the headmaster of the Biblia Academy, the military school I’ve been talking about,” Alice said.
“I know Alice has the skill to train others but sad to say she isn’t fit to teach.”
“You see Chris, my friend, is the best slacker I’ve met.”
“She tends to waste time on useless things rather than teaching her students.”
“Just so you know she uses an illusion to teach her students” Clarissa said as if she is questioning Alice’s capabilities to teach
Alice has this embarrassed look on her face.
“I don’t mind,” I said.
Clarissa gave me a glare then said.
“You must be joking.”
“It’s fine as long as she gets the job done.”
“I don’t care what her teaching style is as long as there are results, I am fine with it.”
“I haven’t seen her teach yet, but I do know one of her students that improved a lot,” I said.
“I can’t argue with that but still keep an eye on her” Clarissa said.
“So, Alice, where did you last see the twins?” I asked.
“Come, I’ll show you” Alice said as she went on her way.
“Wait, I'll just leave something to protect them,” I worriedly said.
“No need to worry sir. I can protect the kids.”
“Just go find your friends. They need you more than we do” Clarissa said.
“Yeah, she can handle it. She’s a lightning user after all” Alice said as she increases her pace.
“Wait for me!” I shouted as I chased after her.
We soon arrived at the exact location where Alice left the twins. I tried looking for footprints but did not find any.
“I only see two ways out.”
“The one we entered and its opposite end.”
“How about we split up here. If we manage to find them fire elemental magic to the sky, then head back to the open area where Clarissa and the children are staying” I suggested.
Alice gave a nod then she flew off. I also searched from the sky to get a wider view of the area.
“If I were a girl where would I go? A question I asked myself as I search the nearby area, but I did not see one of them. I head back to the meeting place.
“You’re here already?” Clarissa asked.
“Why? Hasn’t Alice returned yet?” I asked.
“Yeah” Clarissa reacted
I shoot fire magic up to the sky signaling my arrival to the meeting place
“Let’s just wait here until she arrives.”
“Once she’s here we should all head to the evacuation center so the mages can look after you.”
“Even give you some food and water” I suggested.
An hour passed and there is still no sign of Alice nor the twins.
“I’ll be heading out for a while. Please wait here” I said to Clarissa.
“Okay?” She said with a clueless look in her face.
I took off to find Alice maybe something horrible happened to her.
I roam around the city and even ask the civilians if they saw the ladies I was with earlier, but no one gave me a definite answer.
“Why on earth could those three went” I frustratingly said as I pull my hair.
“Chris! Chris are you there?” Draxx asked using telepathy.
“Yeah, I am here. Why?” I asked.
“What happened to you? You said that you’ll respond here as soon as you finish your work there?
“Half a day past and you’re still not here” Draxx raised his voice at me.
“Sorry, but something happened.”
“The ladies went missing, and I can’t find them,” I informed them.
“Huh? When?”
“Why didn’t you tell me sooner so I can help in finding them?”
“Wait for me there,” Draxx said.
“Don’t! We don’t know where the enemies are.”
“It is better if you stay there,” I said.
“I think I can manage this on my own.”
“Take care of everyone for me” I said then I partially blocked all messages.
I went back to the meeting place and brought Clarissa and the children to the evacuation center. I also asked Samantha and the rest of the high-ranking mages to help me search for Alice and the twins.
