“Nah, I would like to stay here for a bit.”
“The view here is breathtaking,” Lora said.
“Say Alice, do you think what we are fighting for I just?” I randomly asked.
“Don’t tell me you got soft seeing that” Alice said to Lora then she vanished.
“Okay that’s enough” Alice said as soon as she pops out.
“Boo!” the kids reacted.
“What’s with the interruption?” I asked.
“Lora is awake, now we can talk about the important matter we need to discuss” Alice said.
“Okay kids we will continue this later. We still have something important to discuss.”
“For a while Nimbus will tour you around the city,” I said
I summoned Nimbus.
“Sorry pal but could you babysit them for me?”
“I promise we won’t take long,” I begged.
Nimbus just nod
“Thanks bud. I’ll call you right away once we finish the meeting.”
“Then you can use up all the mana you need,” I said.
“Okay kids climb aboard.”
“Nimbus will fly you around town,” I announced.
The kids all cheered as they climbed aboard Nimbus.
“Okay fall in line and no pushing” I said.
“You really love kids, aren’t you?” Sora said.
“Yeah!”
“But I like you more,” I murmured.
“Huh?” She reacted.
“Nothing!” I embarrassedly said.
I gave Draxx and Mariposa a call and informed them about the meeting.
“We’ll be on our way,” Draxx replied.
It seems Draxx finally found where Mariposa was hiding. Good for him
“Draxx and Mariposa will be here shortly.”
“Let’s go pick Lora up,” I said as I took the lead to the infirmary.
As we entered, we heard someone sobbing. Alice immediately entered and saw Lora wiping her tears.
“What happened Lora?” Alice calmly asked as she rubs Lora’s back.
“Don’t mind me I just remembered something sad” Lora said.
“If you have something to say don’t hesitate to speak up.”
“This is a safe place” I said with a smile on my face.
“Oh yeah just so you know we will be having a meeting right now, just waiting for Draxx and Mariposa to arrive.”
“We’ll be conducting it at my office because someone might hear us, and we don’t want that to happen because it’s confidential” I informed.
We all took a seat as we waited for the two to arrive.
“If you don’t mind me asking.”
“Are you two really that close to each other?” I asked coz Alice is getting awfully clingy.
“Yeah! Have a problem with it?” Alice said as she glared at me.
“Why does it have to be us?” Lora said to herself.
“Are you talking to me Lora?” Alice asked.
“Huh? Did I say something?” Lora said.
“Never mind, it might just be my imagination,” Alice said.
“Why is life already set on something? Like we don’t have a say on anything”
“Why do we need to live like puppets of this force called fate. When a string is moved there will be motion.”
“I played my cards right but why am I the one who is losing.”
“The smile on their faces earlier is so radiant that it blinds me. I manage to steal everyone else's heart but why not him. What’s so special about him” thoughts inside Laura's head.
“Say Chris can I talk to you a sec?” Lora said.
“Sure” I cheerfully said.
It was dead silence for a minute then she said.
“Can we speak in private?” she seems to be dead serious. Even Alice does not know what to do.
I stood up then approached her and gave her a hug.
“If there is something bothering you let it all out.”
“As I said earlier this is a safe place” I whispered in her ear.
She then started crying
We tried comforting her, but she cried even more. Feels like all the pain and hardship she endured finally went out of her system. Then the door opened that got all our attention
“I just saw Nimbus flying around with the kids on his back” Draxx said as he barges in
He was shocked seeing us all cuddled up while Lora was sobbing.
“Don’t you know how to knock?” Alice said.
“Told you” Mariposa said as she joins in
“I want to join too,” Draxx said as he ran towards us with open arms.
“No!” the ladies said in unison.
We hugged for several seconds then all together let go. Lora finally stopped crying.
“Now that we are all here.”
“Let’s head to my office so we can start discussing the important matter I was talking about,” I said as I took the lead.
Once we were all properly seated, I started the discussion.
“The reenactment of the great war will start soon or that’s what I wanted to happen.”
“I’ve been giving this some thought, but I think the demons’ are not who are up against width.”
“Based on the story that grandpa told me that there is a much stronger force other than the demons. He is called Wasak.”
“Wasak is the counterpart of the God we all knew; he might have different names and persona, but he is the one truth God, the creator of all things.”
“I just wanted you to know that whatever happens in the upcoming war it’s fine as long as you stand up and fight.”
“We are not destined by fate alone because we are the one’s pulling its strings,” I said.
They all gave me a round of applause and Draxx even whistled.
“Was that it?” Alice said as soon as the hype subsides.
“Mariposa about that sensory magic of yours. I think it is superior to the sensory magic I am using. You can sense demonic presence in greater distance.”
“Keep that up and we can intercept the enemy before they reach this city” I said then I placed a printed copy of the map that Mariposa and Ryzen finished.”
“As you can see that this city is at the center so it is possible that the enemies will launch attacks from all sides to divide our defenses.”
“We can use your magic to intercept them one by one before they can reach the city,” I said to Mariposa.
“Draxx as the successor of the Archangel Zadkiel I have nothing to say but to unlock its true potential.”
“I want you to achieve Trinity Mode before the war starts” I ordered.
“What’s that?” Draxx curiously asked.
“We will discuss it some other time,” I said.
“Sora” I said
“Yes!” She reacted.
“You have strong destruction magic plus you have a high endurance but learn to control your emotion.”
“Emotions are a double-edged sword so use it with caution. Misuse might end up in your downfall” I said.
“You two, I know we haven’t known each other for a long time but believe me I was watching you” I said.
Lora then covered her chest with a threatened look on her face then said
“p*****t!”
“I was not pertaining to that.”
“I don’t know why but I think we met somewhere before or maybe because you just look like Sora” I said
“And you Alice I expected a great battle with you.”
“There’s no holding back alright. So, whatever happens we will accept it wholeheartedly” I said?
“What about you Chris? What are you going to do?” Sora asked.
“Me? I am going to rest” I straight-forwardly said.
“So, you’re not joining the war? Chris Sterling wielder of all elements won’t participate in the war” Lora reacted.
“I already know what the outcome is, why even bother?” I spoke.
“Are you a time traveler or something?” Lora said.
I just smiled.
“Looks like we are done here. I gotta go , I have training to do, '' Draxx said as he stood up.
“I should get going. I still have to stop by the restaurant first.”
“Aren’t you coming sis?” Sora said.
“Let’s go, Lora,” Alice said as she pulled Lora up.
With lightning-fast speed Draxx exited the room. Sora then came out next.
“Alice, leave us for a while. We need to talk about something” Lora seriously said.
Alice then locks the room as she goes out.
“So, what do you wanna talk about?” I asked to place my elbows on my table.
“Just who are you exactly?” Lora seriously asked.
“I thought you already knew, Asmodeus the Sin of Lust” I said then gave him a smirk.
“How long did you know about my mortal identity?” Lora said in a demonic voice.
“The moment that Batis healed you.”
“Your mana is far greater than a mortal so you’re either an angel or a demon incarnate.”
“You’re a skilled defensive healing ice user which resembles the Demon Lord of Lust” I said
“And how did you know those details don’t tell me you’re an incarnate as well?” Asmodeus said.
“Nah! Just heard it from my grandpa. He told the stories about the great war as my bedtime story” I said.
“Are you really not participating in the war, kinda sus if you ask me.”
“Humanity’s greatest magic user isn’t defending mankind?”
“Stop playing with it,” Asmodeus said.
“I won’t participate because I have bigger fish to catch plus the Archangels can whoop your asses again” I said.
