She places her hand above her eyes and takes a good long look at me. “Is that you Chris” Clarissa uncertainty said. “Yeah, it’s me. What brought you here?” I asked. “I’ll cut to the chase. You are now the state of Citadel, right? And you know that it isn’t for children to stay there.” “I was hoping the kids could stay at your place until the city’s constructions are finished.” “I promise to shoulder their food and water” Clarissa begged. “Sure” I said “Thanks Chris you’re a lifesaver” Clarissa said as she shakes my hand. She then took out something from her back. It was her purse. “Keep it.” “I think the academy can shoulder the expenses,” I said. I summoned Nimbus to give us a lift back to the academy. “Is this the Biblia Academy?” “Wow! I didn’t expect to be this huge” Clarissa surprisingly said. “I would love to tour you and the kids around, but we are still looking for our missing friend” I said. We soon landed on the academy’s grounds. “One by one and no pushing, okay” I instructed the kids. “Hey Sora, should we separate the boys from the girls?” I asked her. “I think it’s fine, they are still kids plus Clarissa will be having a hard time to watch over them.” “Imagine running back and forth just to watch over the children,” Sora said. “Fair point,” I said. “Say Clar, you’ll be staying at the ladies’ building together with the kids.” “I think three rooms would be enough,” I said. “About that,” Clarissa said as she scratched her head. “I still need to head back to the city.” “I still have certain matters to attend too, sorry.” “So, can you please babysit them while I am gone” “Clarissa begged as she tightly holds my shirt. I look like Sora thinking she might accept the offer but looking at her reaction she will not do it. I decided that Alice and the kids will board the ae a three-consecutive room. We headed there to check out the room. Using earth magic, I removed the walls separating the three rooms. “Okay kids, teacher will be gone for a while. Please be on your best behavior” Clarissa said then she walks out the room. “Clar wait!” I spoke. “I am a bit in a hurry.” “My ride is heading back to the city and I don’t want to miss it.” “Please thank Darling for me,” Clarissa said as she went on her way. “Did I just hear that right?” “Darling?” Sora said with a clueless look in her face. “Who’s her darling anyway?” Sora asked. “Beats me?” I said as I raised my shoulders. “Darling is the one that instructed us to wait for you at the statue” the eldest kid said. “What the Fuc” Sora was about to shout but I covered her mouth. “There are kids around” I said with a cheerful smile on my face. “But Draxx has a girlfriend?” “And she’s rich, intelligent, and less pretty than me” Sora said “I was shocked to hear that too, but you didn’t hear me sounded hysterical, right?” I spoke. “Everyone deserves love, even demons.” “Maybe this war was just all about a misunderstanding. Who knew that simple words would lead into ruin”? “That’s why I speak my heart content? I don’t usually sugar coat words” “It’s better to tell the harsh truth than comforting lies,” I said. “Mister can we ride that giant cloud again?” a little girl said as she tugs my shirt. “Sure, but promise me that all of you will behave until the teacher gets back okay” I said as I lifted her up. “Okay!” She spoke. Her expression was so damn cute how could I say no to that. “Alright kids follow me” I said as I jumped off the building then I formed a slide made from ice. Sora assisted the children one by one, and she too slid down. I made a temporary playground for the kids to play with. The sky suddenly turned dark at Citadel. “Strange there’s a storm coming better head inside” Samantha said to herself as she saw the dark clouds. Flash of lightning followed by strong thunder that alarmed the citizens. “What’s that in the sky?” someone shouted as he pointed at it. Everyone around him looked at where he was pointing but it was too dark. Then lightning flashed revealing a silhouette of something that has wings “Ah! Demon!” the crowd shouted then they started to flee. The mages quickly responded but they did not say anything or anyone. Several more sightings of the same figure appeared all over the city but every time that the mages responded they were already too late. Several mages already gave up on the wild goose chase they are doing and decided to take a rest. The number of patrolling mages got thinner every passing minute. Then lightning struck the ground and someone wearing a robe appeared right in front of the patrolling mages’ faces “Stay back” a mage shouted. The mages slowly stepped back and when they got enough distance, they ran. “Help! Help!” the mages repeatedly shouted. Flapping of wings were heard followed by wailing and screams. One by one the fleeing mages were killed. “Please spare me!” a mage begged as he grovel in the ground. “Sure” the killer said in a gentle feminine voice. The mage slowly stands up then he lounges at the killer but before he even took off the ground he was already split in half. With lightning-fast speed she hunts the other mages down A flash of lightning then stops the killer from her tracks. “Looks like we finally meet again Asmodeus.” “How about facing someone with your own caliber?” Solomon said as he saw the mask the killer was wearing. “Eh?” the killer reacted. Solomon unleashes his aura. “Go find the others and evacuate the civilians.” “I’ll handle this,” Solomon ordered. “That’s a pretty tall order for someone who mistaken me for someone else.” “Can’t you tell just by looking in my mana?” the killer said as she teleports behind Solomon. “Remember my name mortal.” “I am Lucifer” the killer said then she blasted Solomon with lightning magic. “No!” Samantha reacted as she saw Solomon plummets. Then lightning struck Lucifer, but it did not affect her. “Looks like that attack didn’t finish you off.” “Interesting” Lucifer said Then a bolt of lightning came straight at her, but she just stopped it with two fingers. “Weaklings like you don’t deserve a place in this world. Only the strongest comes out on top” Lucifer said as she dispels the lightning bolt. “Tell me your name, mortal” Lucifer ordered. “I am Solomon Maldive, and I am gonna send you back to hell!” Solomon’s aura rages “Solomon Maldive you say.” “Looks like Asmodeus lost his touch if she thinks that you are an angel incarnate.” “Someone with low mana and lesser magic isn’t worthy of a divine aura” Lucifer mock. Thunder started roaring and the air was getting electrocuted. “Flash Cannon” Solomon casted His elemental magic started to concentrate. With everything he got he fires. Then a bolt of lightning pierced thru his attack and struck him in the gut “How does it feel to be weak? Hurts, right?” “Right from the start you know you can’t beat me.” “Why do mortals like to become heroes? Don’t they know martyrdom is a waste of one’s life their race will eventually turn back to their downfall” Lucifer said? Solomon then coughs blood. “Don’t worry that the wound won’t bleed because your insides are already roasted.” “I’ll let you slide this time. Face me again when you have developed your power” Lucifer said then lightning struck her as soon as the smoke cleared, she was already gone. “Stay strong Sol.” “Help is on the way,” Samantha said as she assisted Solomon to stand up. “Move!” Solomon shouted as she pushed Samantha away then lightning struck him. “Ahhhh!” Solomon shouted. “Sol, no!” Samantha shouted with a helpless look in his face. The back-up mages just arrived, and they too look pitiful. “Ahhhh Mmmm Okay guys nothing to worry about” Solomon cheerfully said. “Looks like that lightning’s purpose wasn’t to kill me.” “What are you up to Lucifer?” thoughts inside Solomon’s head. “Don’t scare me like that,” Samantha said in a relieved manner. “What was that about Asmodeus?” “Why did you heal trash?” Lucifer asked. “As I told you he’s promising. You just haven’t battled him to his full potential yet.” “You’ll see, just you wait” Asmodeus seems confident. Back at the academy Lora finally awakens. “You’re finally awake” Alice cheerfully said as she hugs Lora tight. “So, I lost,” Lora said. “Who expects to win against a manifested power?” “Unlike us we can do it anytime but yours is another story.” “Plus, I know that you hold back,” Alice said as she rubs the back of Lora’s head. “Are those children I am hearing?” “Looks like they are having fun” Lora said as she got out of bed, but Alice stopped her. “Don’t move yet your injuries might hurt again” Alice worriedly said. “Don’t worry I’m fine.” “Chris’ divine beast healed me.” “Look,” Lora said, then she stood up. She then walked to the window and peeked. She saw Chris and Sora playing along with the kids and they all looked happy. “Want to go outside?” Alice asked.
