Episode one
Ava sat down on the grass, next to her sister's headstone. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, trying to feel her sister's presence. "I know you're not really here," she said softly, "but I just needed to talk to you."
She took another deep breath, and began. "It's been six years already, just how fast the time flies."
She paused, and then continued, "I'm going for an interview at Omega Tech, John Leonard's company. Does it ring a bell?"
She looked at the headstone, as if she was expecting her sister to respond, But of course there was only silence.
"I bet it's did. Why won't you remember the name of the man who sent you to an early grave or did I?" Ava asked looking at the headstone.
That was the question she's been battling to find an answer to for the past few years.
"Would you have escape the death if I didn't send you to school that day? Would you still be my sister and best friend till now? Would you still be here if I didn't take the scholarship in the first place? Is john Leonard really the killer or did I kill my own sister myself?" Tears dropped from Ava's eyes as she talked.
She sent her twin sister to her school in her place due to some reasons and her sister died that day in school, so since that day she has been Living as Anna (her twin sister). Since everyone thought she was the one who died and not her twin sister.
She looked at the half hearted pendant chain on her neck and clutched onto it . "You gave this to me on our 17th birthday and I find it ridiculous remember? Now looking at it I realized I've never given you anything precious as a gift. Am such a stupid sister aren't i?" Ava sniffed in as more tears fell from her eyes.
Ava looked at the headstone and read the inscription. "In loving memory of Ava, a sister and friend who will always be remembered with love and affection." It brings back memories of happier times.
Ava remembers when they were younger, playing in the park, or baking cookies in the kitchen. She remembers the laughter and the love they shared.
She remembered when Florida highschool announce the scholarship exams, she was so excited to take the exam. But her sister wasn't because she knew it's not a school for people like them.
Florida International High School was a prestigious school, reserved for the wealthiest, most elite students. But Ava was not from a wealthy or elite family. Despite this, Ava was determined to attend the school, and she worked hard to excel in her studies. She was thrilled when she learned that she had won a scholarship to the school, and her sister was equally excited for her. But Anna couldn't help but feel a little nervous about the unknown future that await her sister Ava.
"Do you think you would be okay" Anna muttered as she helped her to comb her hair. It's her first day in her new school, and Anna was helping her get ready.
"Hmm" Ava nodded "I will be fine, you should stop been worried and go get ready for school." She collected the brush from her.
"There's a rumor that school is filled with bullies, you should tell me if anyone tries to bully you okay?" Anna said
"What will you do if I was getting bullied, will you fight the bully with that little fist of yours" Ava chuckled and Anna s*****d her head
"Hey!" Anna exclaimed and Ava laughed
"Don't worry girl, I will be fine" Ava gave her a reassuring smile and she nodded and pat her head
After she was done, she bade her parents goodbye and left for her new school while Anna also left for her school.
Her first day in school was cool and she even made new friend who was also a scholarship student.
"Maybe this school isn't as bad as they say" Ava smiled as she goes through her book while walking, she wasn't looking and bumped into someone.
"Watch where you're going stinky fool" A female voice sounded before she could talk.
"A...am so sorry, I wasn't...looking" she stuttered
"Watch where you're going next time" A male voice sounded and she looked up to the voice only to see a handsome guy looking at her and she nodded.
"Let's go" the guy said to the rest of the people he were walking with and they walked past her.
"He's so handsome" she muttered as she could feel her heart beat beating faster than usual. she placed a hand over her chest and smile to herself
It's was love at first sight for her without knowing, he would be the reason her life turn miserable.
Back to the present, Ava laughed at her own thought. "The more I think about it, the more fool I realized I was" she muttered.
She looked up to the sky and saw it's getting late then she sighed. "I must have spent more time here than I thought."
"I will be leaving now sis, don't get too cold" she smile and stood up, then she turned and walked away.
On her way back home, as Ava was walking down the street, a girl stopped her and asked for the tallest building in the street.
"Hi, please where is the tallest building in the street" The girl asked
Ava pointed down the street, and the girl thanked her profusely before continuing on her way. But something about the girl's demeanor struck Ava as odd, and she couldn't shake the feelings off so she followed her.
As Ava followed the girl to the roof of the tallest building, she saw something she wasn't expecting but she wasn't surprised at the same time. The girl was standing on the edge of the roof, and she looked like she was about to jump.
"Don't you think dying here would bring discomfort to others living here" Ava said
"If you want to die, then you should die quietly, no need to make other people suffer" Ava added But the girl didn't respond, she just stood there, staring at the ground below
"Don't die" Ava muttered "there's so much to live for, I know it's may not seem like it right now but life can get better. I promise."
The girl chuckled and face her. She unzip the jacket she was putting on her gown and took it off.
Ava gasped seeing her body, there were many bruised on her body, it's looked like she has been whipped several times and she has several burnt scar on her skin.
"Who... Who did this to you" Ava asked in a whisper
"Does that even matters" The girl spoke out "It's not like it's going to change anything will it?"
"And you think your death will?" Ava said "even if you end your life now it not going to change anything. it's not going to affect those who did this to you, after you die, they will mock you, make fun of you and go over to another person, so why would you waste your life over people like that? Are you just going to satisfy them with your death? You should prove them wrong don't you think? You shouldn't give them that satisfaction. You should show them how strong you're and crush them." By the time Ava finished talking the young girl who was about to take her own life was crying real hard.
Ava slowly walked close to her and stretched her hands forward. "Don't give up on life, take my hand please."
As she was about to take Anna's hand, her leg slipped back and she fell.
"Noooo."
