Chapter 12

1000 Words
Charles Ally's here?! Dad glanced at me, "Who is this Ally girl, son?" "Um, just someone from school Dad," I lied. I know that he won't be happy about this. "Girlfriend?" Dad asked. I averted my gaze. "Sort of dad," Dad sighed. He turned to the guard, "Let her in." "What Dad?" Let her in, can't we just pretend that we aren't home? The guard left the house and went to the front gates. "Dad, why are you letting her in?" I asked once he left. I know that if he met her, he wasn't going to like her. "I want to see who your little girlfriend is," Dad says. Even though he is good at hiding his emotions, I can sense there was a hint of mockery in them. I don't know what to do. Why was she here? I mean technically she's still my girlfriend but I was planning to break up with her soon. A few minutes later, the guard came in again with Ally. She was wearing a ridiculously tight short dress and a flirtatious smile. I sighed, my father really was going to hate her. I glanced at him, his face was emotionless. I couldn't tell what he was thinking but whatever it was, it wasn't good. Ally coughed, I looked at her. She wanted me to introduce her to my Dad probably but she still came so uninvited. I stood up. "Um, Dad, this is Ally, Ally this is my dad." Ally smiled, "Hi it's so nice to meet you Mr. Denver, gotta say, I'm a big fan." I looked at her, since when was she a fan? I didn't think she even knew him or that she knew anyone from the business industry at all. I thought she wouldn't be interested. Dad didn't say anything, he just merely nodded. If it wasn't obvious, he clearly doesn't want to talk to her, but she isn't taking the hint. She looks around for a bit, "Wow, is this your house?" "Yep," I said shortly. She then walked over and came to sit next to me. Leaning towards me. "Did you miss me, Charles?" She asked. "Yes, of course I did." "I know," she says. She then moves closer to me and leans her head against my chest. My dad castes a disapproving look. He clearly already dislikes her. I move back a little. "What are you doing here?" I asked getting a little irritated. "What? I can't come see my own boyfriend?" She says innocently emphasizing the word boyfriend. "That's not what I meant," I muttered. I looked at my dad not knowing what to do. He looked disappointed and motioned me to break up with her. I sighed, "Listen, Ally, I don't think that this is working out." "What!?" Ally screamed lifting her head up, "You're breaking up with me?" "Yes, I'm breaking up with you." "No," Ally says, tears brimmed into her eyes, "Why?" "I'm in love with someone else," I say firmly. "Is it Charlotte?" Was it that obvious? "Yes." Ally took a sharp breath. Ally I knew it, of course, it was Charlotte because now everything is about Charlotte. Charles looks at me empathetically. I always hated Charlotte and when I thought she couldn't do anything to make it worse, she did but mark my words Charlotte, I will be the one that ends up with Charles just wait. I looked back at Charles, I made sure that there were tears in my eyes. "But," My lips quiver, "I'm still in love with you." "I'm sorry," Charles says softly. He's only doing this because his father is here, I just need to get him alone, but how? Maybe another day, I'll come back for you Charles. "What can I do to change your mind?" I asked. "Nothing can change his mind," Charles's dad says firmly. He clearly already disliked me and what did I do? When I came here today, the last thing I was expecting was a breakup. "You should go," Charles says. I sniffed, well that broke my heart. I nodded and made to leave the mansion. Damn, it was big, and to think I could have owned it all. I always knew he was rich, but this is another level. I have to get him back. If Charles won't change his mind, Charlotte would have to. Once I got back into my car, I took out my phone and then texted Charlotte: "Thanks for letting me visit Charles, I love you and miss you already. Oh oops, wrong number sorry Charlotte. It was meant for Charles, I came to visit both of you but you weren't home. " Such innocent text surely would break her heart. I always knew she was in love with Charles as if she couldn't make it any less obvious. But Charles is mine, and only mine, and I am going to make sure it stays that way because Charlotte won't be the one taking him away from me. I'll make sure of that. Charles Now that Ally left, there was an awkward silence. I know my father will be furious, but he didn't say anything yet. After some time in silence, I finally spoke. "Uh, dad?" I've got nothing else to say. My father sighed and looked at me. "Charles, I don't know what you were thinking with her but you've got to stop. You are to be married soon, act like it." He was right. But what is the point if Charlotte didn't feel the way, what's the point if I'm in love with her but she wasn't in love with me? "But she doesn't love me, Dad," I told him. "How do you know that?" He asked. "The way she acts? It just seems like I'll just be in the friend zone forever and ever. She's only doing this because you guys want us to." "She could have said no though," My father told me. True, she could have... But didn't.
