Charles
They want us to get married?
I always knew that they liked Charlotte but I never thought they would make us get married.
I mean I'm not complaining but I don't think Charlotte would want to.
The look on her face says it all.
"Grandma, Grandpa, I don't think that that is a good idea," I told them gently.
"It is. We need to make sure our heir has a good wife that will always help him, besides you and Charlotte are a good fit. You've practically known each other your whole lives" Grandma says.
"I would but Charles has a girlfriend, his beloved, he doesn't want to get married to me and I wouldn't want to intrude," Charlotte says.
Am I right? Charlotte wouldn't want someone like me, she never did.
And since when was I ever in love with Ally?
"That's enough, you two are getting married or else you won't be my heir Charles. Charlotte clearly doesn't mind but you just have to be with that girl that we don't even like." Grandpa says.
"Fine, if Charlotte really doesn't mind, we will get married," I almost shouted in exasperation.
I know I shouldn't shout at them but I couldn't help myself. Of course, I wanted this to happen but maybe it should happen normally. Because both of us really love each other and not because Charlotte is forced to marry me.
I glance at Charlotte to see what she thinks. Does she really not mind?
Charlotte
Charles agreed for us to get married if I agreed.
I obviously don't mind but Charles has someone else. The way he says that makes it clear that HE DOESN'T WANT THIS. He wants her, not me.
But he won't be the heir to this whole thing? He deserves to be more than anyone. I have seen how hard he works for this. If he really doesn't mind getting married then I will do this because he deserves to be the heir. I have seen how ready for this he is. I can't let him miss out on this just because of me. If he is willing to do this, I will be willing to abide.
"I don't mind," I say quietly.
Grandpa smiles, "Great, the wedding will be soon."
No one talked again after that. It was just dead silent
Soon after we were all done with dinner and me and Charles just went back to our rooms.
I lay on my bed lost in thoughts. I was most indefinitely in love with Charles.
But he doesn't feel the same way. He doesn't want this. He wants to be with his beloved, not me.
Suddenly there was a quiet knock on the door.
I walked over to the door and opened it. I really hope that it was Charles that is there but it could also be grandma or grandpa.
I hold my breath as I open the door. Sure enough, it was Charles there.
He was in an ordinary T-shirt. Not what someone who is crazy rich would wear, but yet he looked so handsome standing there in front of my room, in the middle of the night.
Wait what is he doing here?
"Charles?" I asked.
He was staring at the floor intently.
"Do you want to come in, or..." I asked stepping aside from the door.
I have no idea why he's here but I am glad he is.
He looks at me vaguely and walks in without a word and sits on the chair next to my bed.
I closed the door behind me and went to sit on my bed in front of him.
When I thought he would never speak, he said, "I'm sorry that they are making you do this."
"It's fine," I say.
"You really don't have to if you don't want to. I know that you probably don't want to get married to me anyway so you could just tell them."
He has no idea how much I wanted this. But he is probably just saying this so he could be with Ally instead, the thought of him with Ally makes my heart ache.
"But if we don't get married, you won't get all of this, you won't be the heir. I have seen how hard you worked for all of this if this is what we need to do, then I will support you. Besides, it's not like you want to get married to me either," I tell him.
Honestly, that seems like a reasonable excuse for why we should get married anyway. It is his future at stake for this. I couldn't do that to him.
Charles didn't say anything after that, did it mean that he didn't want to get married even if it meant that he wouldn't be the heir?
"I mean it's fine if you want to marry Ally instead and be the next heir, I'll support you either way," I say trying to make it less awkward if that's what he's saying.
"No, we will get married," he says. With that, he left the room quickly.
So we will get married? Why did he leave so quickly? I don't know what's going on anymore.
But what I do know is that things would not be the same with me and Charles anymore. Things have just gotten a lot more awkward between us. He doesn't want this.
Why would he? What's so good about me while Ally is practiaclly perfect. She's pretty, smart and everything a guy could ever want I can totally see why Charles would want to be with her. I heard she is going to be an actress, I don't know how it's going but I heard that she got casted with a role and would be starting soon. I wish her the best but obviously every normal guy would want to be with her. She practially perfect and I'm practically no body. Charles would hate me for this, now, for seperating them.
