The lost kingdom

Chapter 3 - Children

"Hi miss Juliette. How are your children?"

"They're fine thanks to you. You did a lot in these few years for all of us living in your Kingdom"

"I did that because it was my duty regarding all of my people. I will always stand by your side."

Jack and Alphonse come to us running a bit.

"Hi you two. Be good kids and I hope you'll achieve all your dreams. I'll help you with it. Bye, see you soon" I concluded the conversation heading back to the castle. This was the last one. The last one family that I can visit. I managed to go see everyone in the Kingdom and now, with a baby of around 7 months, I did it.

It's dawn, so I headed directly to the bedroom, layed down and immediately fell asleep.

The sun was brightly shining waking me up. I sat on the bed still tired. After some moments, I noticed how the other part of the bed seemed like it was not used. I chose to not worry about that and, after getting dressed, I got out to reach the dining room. There was no one. The castle was completely empty like everyone had just vanished leaving nothing but dust behind. It was incredibly scaring and I started to panick.

After a pointless walk around looking for just even one person, I came back to my senses. The only thing that would explain this it's doomsday. I did the ritual to save all of them and I'm here alone. Therefore doomsday must be coming for me. Immediately I ran back to the castle where I reached the weapons' room and I put on a pocket belt with two knives and a sword in my hand. At first I was a bit too positive about my abilities but, given that it was too heavy, I changed it with another one. When I finally finished to prepare myself, I got outside and sat on a bench waiting. I waited, and waited, and waited. For so long that I got thirsty and hungry. I needed to eat something, however it seems like fate isn't on my good side because in the exact moment that I got up, the sky started to become darker and scarier. The clouds were almost screaming and the lightnings started to set some buildings on fire. I was alone. Alone in this Kingdom that's bound to be destroyed. My crown became just a paper crown, forgotten on the floor. I tried my best to survive during those days or years. I lost count of time. Hell had rised his way up just to destroy my Kingdom. Using every mean in he's hands. At some point, I just layed down, heavily breathing, spitting blood from both my mouth and my body. 'Is this how it feels to die? Is this the end of everything? I just hope they're safe and sound. Please, if there's a God, let them be saved' It was my last thought before losing consciousness.

I ended up in a strange place. Then I realised it was the castle's garden. There were two kids, no, three kids playing. I got nearer them. I was about to ask them what were they doing when I realised that it was a memory of mine. There were Will, Lothar and I playing by the fountain. It was the time when all the fishes were still there alive. However, their behaviour was a getting stranger by the time I was there. It wasn't anymore my memory, they were trying to burn the garden to the ground. At that point I screamed against it, they all turned to look at me but they're faces were gone black and scary.

I finally woke up from the strange dream, I could feel that I was sweating. It was dark and I couldn't see anything. All the previous happenings came back in my mind. My body recalled all of the pain and it was awful. Even though, I managed to move what was covering me and got out. I had been covered by the rubbles. My back was badly aching, my head felt dizzy and my arm had lost a lot of blood. Also, I had probably got one or two broken ribs. Luckily they were the lowest ones, if this can be called luck. Using my sword to keep myself from falling, I was standing. I looked all around me, there was nothing left. Everything had been crushed. The last pieces of one of the castle's tower were still standing, however in a few seconds even that fell creating a smoke cloud that reached me making me cough badly. My whole kingdom had been destroyed, yet I was still standing. I was still alive after all this. I survived doomsday. What should I do now? Should I have just died? I kept standing there both shocked and mesmerized for some moments not knowing what to do. Suddenly, I shiver came down my back making me gasp. I woke up from whatever that was and decided that if I'm alive there must be a reason. I started walking without a direction hoping to reach something. I needed food and water as soon as possible. I found a little backpack still usable, hence I took it with me. After passing the first village, I reached the woods. Inside it was darker but I could somehow still see. Suddenly, I felt like something was watching me but I couldn't find them. This feeling accompanied me for some time until I stepped without paying attention of what was in front of me and fell from a quite high hill. I fainted right after reaching the bottom.
