Emily Rose's Point of View My heart almost leapt out of my chest, and I fought back tears that welled up in my eyes. I only had one question, my last hope. "How about strong ancestors?" I asked, trying not to show how upset I was. "Well," he paused for a moment before taking a deep breath. "How powerful is the bloodline in question?" I furrowed my brows, realising I had nothing to say. "Alpha ancestry?" My voice was trembling as I replied. "I see," he said with a sigh. "Was the alpha werewolf poisoned?" "Yes," I said quickly. "Can you tell me his name?" I paused once more. I only knew his first name, and the doctor mistook my silence for tact. "I ask because if I know him, I will know about his bloodline," he patiently explained. I was not sure if I should tell him, but what had I got to lose? He was my only ray of hope. "Klive Brion," I grumbled. I did not have time to say anything else before he went insane. He pretended to be a fan who was about to meet their crush. "Klive Brion Ravewood?" He screamed into his phone. "The Alpha hybrid! I have dedicated an entire study to him! Give me a moment, and I will look into it!" Surprisingly, I raised my brows. My mystery man was a celebrity, a hybrid even. He could not just be a werewolf; he had to be a hybrid of two magical creatures. Amazing! I heard a muffled voice and the shuffling of papers. Then there was silence for what seemed like an hour. I tried to be patient, but my nails almost fell off. He was finally back. "You will need his twin brother," he surprised me with. "Is he his twin brother?" I repeated myself, frowning. Where should I look for Brion's twin brother? "Yes, his blood should help Alpha heal with some adjustments," the doctor said firmly. "How was he poisoned?" I paused for a few moments to reflect. Brion never told me about his injuries. My response was based on my OR experience, and I was only guessing. "There is a sharp object in his chest," I explained. "What is going on right now?" He persisted with his interrogation, and I peered into the living room, where Brion was sleeping. I noticed his chest rising, which indicated that he was still breathing. "He is dozing off. The wound appears to be in good condition. But it opened two hours ago and was bleeding. His blood was boiling at times." "It is been two hours!" He screamed in horror. "How long will he be out of commission?" I quickly counted the seconds on the big watch. "About thirteen hours," I replied hesitantly. "Goddess, please help us," he sighed before continuing. "He is a lot stronger than I thought. The average werewolf would die in half an hour." I felt a shiver run down my spine just thinking about Brion being dead. My mind could not process such information. "How should I proceed?" I edited out his praise for some goddess and alpha's strength. "Call his brother and take at least two bags of his blood," the doctor said. "Please send me your email address. I will send you the necessary equipment as well as detailed instructions. The rest is entirely up to you." He was quiet for a few seconds as I tried to remember everything he would just said. "I wish you the best of luck, doctor. God knows you need it," he continued, and I rolled my eyes. "Thank you," I politely replied, not expecting much luck. "I will give it my all." He hung up the phone, and a few moments later, I received an email with instructions on what I needed to do. At the very least, there were numerous details. What possibly could go wrong? Everything, in fact. I had no idea how to contact the brother. Brion was fast asleep, and I did not want to rouse him. So I called Nate, the man I assumed was aware of Brion's brother's whereabouts. He responded right away. "Alpha?" His voice was filled with concern. "No, my name is Dr. Brooks. I am with him right now," I began. "Is he...?" He was unable to finish the question. "He is sleeping," I said. "However, I require your assistance." "Anything," he exclaimed excitedly. "I need to contact his brother," I said, watching Brion wiggle on the couch. "Alpha will not be pleased," Nate grumbled, and I raised my brows in annoyance. Seriously?! "Alpha will perish if he does not find his brother!" I reminded him sternly, trying to keep my cool as best I could. The guy was irritating me. "I will send you his phone number," he replied quickly. I wished him a good day and waited for his text message. It arrived after two minutes, and I dialled the number right away. The phone rang seven times before I heard a raspy voice. "Someone has to die," a man groaned angrily. "It is your brother." My filter between the brain and the mouth had become clogged. What should I do? "What!" he exclaimed. His powerful voice nearly deafened me. "Who is there?" Fuck! This is going to be fantastic. I sighed and began to explain in a steady voice. It was pointless to put emotions into my words. He was the brother, and I was just a doctor. "Silver poisoned Brion," I announced carefully. "I need your blood to help him." "Are you f*****g serious?" He shouted, and I took the phone away from my ear. "Who are you!? Where is he!?!" The guy continued, angrier with every passing second. But I also noticed that his voice was soaked with fear and worry. "Please, calm down," I said softly, but he cut me off, furious. "Don't tell me what to do!" He literally roared at me. "Where is he!?!?" He repeated the question, and I didn't see any other way but to tell him the truth. I needed him and his blood if I wanted to save Brion. Still, I wasn't very sure about meeting him. "In my cabin," I replied eventually. "It is in the mountains." "Send me the coordinates. I'll be there in a second," he barked at me. I heard muffled noises in the background and also some woman's voice. "In a split second?" I repeated, sceptically. "Can you just send me the coordinates?!?" He yelled and hung up the phone. I looked at the phone, puzzled. Nonetheless, I did as he requested and sent the numbers to him. When he appeared right in front of me, I nearly died. I screamed and stumbled over my legs, landing on the ground and hitting my ass. Great! "Wait, what the f**k happened?!?" Outraged, the man yelled. His voice rang out in my small kitchen, and I flinched uncontrollably. The powerful aura that radiated from him nearly crushed me. But I took a chance and raised my head to look at him. He was towering over me, his dark eyes piercing me. I thought I saw flames in them. I was terrified of him. The man in front of me was a carbon copy of his brother. His hair was simply a different colour. As in completely different. Brion had raven-black hair, but this man had silver hair. His hair was white in places and a little longer than his brother's, neatly combed back. His massive stature and commanding posture were terrifying. I was afraid his chest muscles would rip the T-shirt to shreds due to his heavy breathing. His biceps flexed, and he appeared to want to snap my neck. He was truly terrifying. I tried to swallow my fear, but it was impossible. I almost peed my pants when I saw him. "Matt," Brion's husky voice said, and I felt a little better. He was most likely awakened by me screaming my vocal chords out. "Do not frighten her. She is assisting me."
