Rance stormed into his motel room, slamming the door behind him. He had followed Lainie around for the rest of the day, but there had been no sign of the Serpents’ members. He had allowed Lainie to leave the bar ahead of him, but even then, they saw neither of the gang members hanging around, which made no sense to him. They had been there to follow her, to get her alone so they could force her to do what they wanted her to do, which was break in and get them Roger’s phone. So, where the hell were they?
He moved over to the fridge, yanking it open and grabbing a beer from inside. After twisting the cap off, he tossed it into the sink and then took a long swig to help cool his frustration. It didn’t help.
