Book One of the Shadow Moon Series

“I said I wouldn’t do this to myself.” I whispered with my face less than an inch from his.

“Do what?” He closed his eyes and rested his forehead against mine.

“Want you.”

I could feel his face lean closer to mine before an audible gasp was heard a foot away from us. We both looked up at the same time to see Lily with tears in her eyes. Before either of us had time to move or even speak she turned on her heels and ran.

“Lilliana, wait!” He called after her as he ripped his body from mine getting ready to follow her actions before I spoke up.

“Is it wrong for me to want you to put me first?” I asked with pain as my eyes pooled. “Not first, I guess, but before her?” My voice barely whispered as I got the last two words out. My heart broke.

I watched a pained expression flash over my mates eyes before turning around to go after Lillian.

He chose her.

When the Shadow and Midnight pack join back together after more than 20 years of seperation how do all of the members handle it? Especially the Alphas daughter of the midnight pack.

Prologue
"Mason! Benjamin!" I heard my father yell excitedly as we walked into the Shadow packs meeting house. "James!" They both responded, sharing the same joyful expression that was on my father's face. "And where is Elijah?" Alpha Mason wondered.     The Shadow packs Alpha had salt and pepper hair, looking as if he'd gone prematurely grey seeing as he couldn't have been any older than forty. He was a strong looking man; strong face, strong physique, everything about him emitted strength. With brown eyes and a defined jawline Alpha Mason looked my father in the eye so he had to be around least six-four.     Benjamin however had a completely different physical appearance. He was around six-two with a head full of chestnut hair that was obviously dyed. He stood strong but his shoulders weren't as wide as Alpha Mason's. His demeanor wasn't as hard and cold as the Alphas. Alpha Mason was a calm and sweet man but the air around him held a layer of chill only an Alpha could produce. "He is getting loose ends taken care of with the new pack house but rest assured, he is more than happy for our reunion." My father spoke. I had never met Alpha Mason or Beta Benjamin, but my father and Elijah spoke highly of them so they had my respect. My twin brother Noah and our sister Ivory stood behind our parents while my mother was by his side. They were equals in everything and that is something I respect most about my mother. "Elizabeth. What a pleasure to see you again." Alpha Mason kissed my mother's hand as she smiled politely. "Mason. Benjamin." My mother was a cordial woman. My parents had come to their hometown a number of times to visit the Shadow pack in my lifetime but I had never come with them as I held a lack of interest in meeting regular wolves, even if they were the people my father grew up with. I kept a respectful smile even if I didn't want to be there, every alpha and beta deserved respect for their high title. "And these must be your children." Benjamin smiled at us. "I feel like I know you already. Your dad never shuts up about you kids." Noah and I smiled at the comment while ivory was in her own world. "This is my son Noah, he will be the next Alpha." My mother introduced my twin brother. Although we were obviously fraternal, we looked exactly alike. Both of us had dark auburn hair and bright green emerald eyes. Noah's eyes were soft though, his held empathy and kindness unlike mine. We were both tall like my father, Noah standing at 6'2 and me at 5'9. Our looks were definitely our fathers while Ivory could be our mothers twin. "His twin sister Blakely. And our youngest daughter Ivory." My mother's eyes showed pride in every word she spoke. She always told us her greatest accomplishment in life was her kids. Our younger sister Ivory had bright blonde hair and brown eyes, she was barely 5'5 and her looks were a contrast to ours. While she looked exactly like my mother, she looked so different from Noah and me that nobody ever assumed she's our sister. Her looks could kill, my mother and Ivory both had the looks and body of a supermodel as opposed to my more muscular build  and I couldn't help but be jealous.  "It's nice to finally meet you." Alpha Mason spoke so proper and crisp in his words. Right as he was about to say something else, five kids came barreling down the stairs, ages ranging from twenty five to fifteen id assume, all chasing one another like children. "Kids!" Alpha Mason spoke in a powerful voice making all of them stop dead in their tracks, realizing company was here. "Yes father." The oldest boy immediately held a stoic face while coming to stand by his father's side, all of the kids lining in between the alpha and beta. The oldest boy was a replica of his father. The stance, the strength, the physique, everything, just twenty years younger. He was the same height as his father and had luscious curly brown hair that I'm guessing alpha Mason had in his younger days. The same large brown eyes but his fathers showed tired while his showed a power and slight immaturity. He was intriguing. "This is my oldest and next in line, Dylan." Dylan. His name seemed to roll off the tongue and the second I said it in my head I got a disgusting taste in my mouth. "My middle child Danielle. And my youngest Alyssa." They all nodded at the mention of their names except the youngest who couldn't have been older than fourteen at the most.  Danielle and Alyssa had very similar features. Both shared the brown hair and brown eyes their brother and father had but their faces were littered in freckles and they both showed their dimples when they smiled. They were stunning. Danielle was around the same height as me while Alyssa was closer to Ivorys height. "And my boys, Zachary, my next in line. And Leo, my youngest." Benjamin smiled proudly at his children. I couldn't quit staring at Dylan with annoyance. How was he supposed to run and lead a powerful wolf pack when he still acted like a child? Running down stairs and playing tag when he should be studying his father's every move and knowing his schedule. If he had, he wouldn't have made a complete embarrassment of himself as a first impression.  Childish. I thought to myself, not realizing the mind linke was open.  Blake, stop being so judgemental. My father spoke through our mind link. I just rolled my eyes but kept my respectful smile towards the Shadow packs alpha. I knew I was going to hate it here.
