Chapter 20 (The Rescue 1)

Drey’s POV

I know exactly where Andrew will be because there is only one property I could find in his name in Cleveland, Ohio, apart from his apartment, which is in his father’s name.

My father called me several times but I did not pick up. I don't need him handling things for me anymore.

It was a long drive to Andrew’s property, since it is way out of the state in an isolated area. Luke wanted us to pause at a gas station for a while so we could get some snacks, but the last thing on my mind was food, so I ignored him. He made a point that on our way back, Jacqueline might be hungry. “Then we will stop by to get it if she is. Right now I need her to be safe, I’ve wasted more than enough time. It has been two days Luke, two days!”

I fixed my gaze back on the road, focusing on my driving and surroundings, and just as I had perceived, he had a strong security system. There were two men placed far from the property, I guess they are his lookouts. They gestured for me to stop the car, and one came closer to the driver's window and the other stood in front of the car pointing a rifle at me.

“You look new. What business do you bring?” he said in his strong Russian voice.

“Call your boss and tell him Drey is here with what he asked for”, Then he nods and proceeds to call his boss, before they let us pass through.

I had this bad feeling I couldn't seem to fathom, but I had to shrug it off.

“Do you have a plan?” Luke asked

“Honestly no solid plan, but obviously we don't have the orb so we just tell him it's in the car”

“They are going to kill us for sure” Luke stated pessimistically.

“Just grab the guns under your seat and pass one over”.

After parking outside at a distance from the villa. My phone rang so loudly in the car startling an already doubtful Luke. I picked up the phone and it was my father.

“Drey, your stepmother is dead. I just got home and I found her passed out and placed on the chair. She has marks on her neck, looks like she was strangled to death. You need to come home we can get the orb later and call your sister Daniella she has refused to return my call, which sounds unlike her”.

“Dad I'm kind of in the middle of something.”

“I know no matter how much I tell you to leave whatever you are doing to come you won't answer, but my son I have a very bad feeling. Just leave your location on at all times please”

“Okay, I will”. Then I hung up and turned on both my car and my phone’s location on.

The day was already gone and I was glad we got here at night because it would be easier to hide in the dark.

We both got out of the car and we took down both the security guards at the entrance. And dragged their bodies right back into the bush then we swapped our clothes with theirs.

“Luke you will be on standby outside where they were”, then I tossed him the car keys “If anyone asks where your partner is, you can say I had some toilet business.” He nods in response then we both left the bodies tied up together and went to our positions. Luckily his security uniform had masks so I wore mine to be unrecognized.

This villa is so big how on earth will I find Jacqueline on time?

“Hey!” someone shouted and I paused in my tracks but I did not turn to face him, so he ran to me.

“Big guy come and join us and merry. The boss is in a good mood today since things are going as planned”

“As planned?” I asked sounding so clueless

“New here? I understand, news doesn't spread much among newbies, with time you'd be informed” he turned to leave but I held his arm. He raised his eyebrows questioning my action so I had to quickly cover up by apologizing and saying I wanted to party with them but I wanted to know what we were celebrating.

“If you may know the orb is back in its rightful place all thanks to The boss’s sister but unfortunately for her the boss does not want to have any form of relation with her so now we can have our fun with her. I just wish the other lady were the sister because she is so beautifully endowed. I'm certain once the boss is done with her we can have her too” this man said all these with so much joy and it's so sickening that this seems normal to them. He put his arm on my shoulder urging me to follow him to take a look at her, so I took the opportunity but told him to wait for me because I needed to use the toilet. He stood outside waiting for me, while I planted a bomb that I had been secretly carrying, hidden in the vest.

I came out as if nothing happened and followed him into the room where the sister in question was kept.

When the door was opened by him I froze and stood in place in shock. No it can't be, but how?

There was no time for me to show any expression so I whispered to the man if I could have like some minutes with her. He looked at me with a smirk on his face and told me to go easy before he left the room. His response left me irritated.

I pulled down my mask so she could see my face. “So you're the traitor? I cared for you like my own sister Daniella. You and your mother deserve every bad thing in this world. Unfortunately your mother is late and can not be punished more than that”. Her eyes widened at the sudden news and as I was about to leave she stopped me

“Wait. Drey, I'm really sorry for everything. I agree I planned on betraying you and your father but I did not want to all these years, I could have but I didn't because you and your father were good to I and my mum, unlike my actual father who only has faith in a male child. I only came back because I felt he would kill Jacqueline if he didn't get the orb, that was why I brought it but he turned on me and still has Jacqueline in chains. I don't know what his plans are but he has the orb already in his possession. Please save me and I can help you and Jacqueline”

I still wasn't buying any of what she had said and decided to walk away “Wait! I can show you where he has kept Jacqueline”, so I let go of the door handle and I just had to untie her.

I told her to stay behind the door, just in case the other guy who brought me in was waiting outside for me, and just as I had perceived he was, so I dragged him in by the neck and placed him on the chair and tied him as he was unconscious.

Daniella took me to another room where she claims that is where Jacqueline is held captive but on getting there the room was dark and empty.

Then a heavy glass object was broken on my head and I turned back to see Daniella dropping the remaining broken glass and her hands shaking terribly, but I was rapidly losing blood so I fell flat on the floor accepting my fate of death.
