Chapter 16

1113 Words
Jacqueline’s POV After I told Drey about the call in the car with Andrew, his expression went from soft to cold instantly. “Hey! Whatever thought is on your mind right now, don't do it. Please, I don't want you to do anything drastic.” Drey simply nodded his head in response to what I said, but I wasn't convinced. I hope nothing goes wrong. I stood up from the couch to lie in his bed because I was tired and sleepy at this point. He joined me after, and we both lay down in silence, staring at the ceiling. After a while, he called my name, and this time he was facing me lying sideways using his arm to support his head. “You haven't told me what made you really upset. I'm really sorry for what I have done, please I honestly don't know the gravity of what I have done but please I really need you to forgive me. I’m very sorry it won't happen again, but please can I know what I did wrong?” I don’t want to say what made me upset because I have no right to be, I probably took things between us seriously but I guess I shouldn’t have. “Don’t worry about it, let’s just say I let my mood swings get the best of me, I shouldn’t have. Let’s just start all over again.” I turned to my side with my back facing him “goodnight Drey” then I fell asleep. Drey’s POV It’s the next morning after the disaster and I couldn't sleep properly. Jacqueline is fast asleep by my side, she looks so beautiful sleeping peacefully. How I wish I could be waking up to this every day. My thoughts then went back to the call she told me about with Andrew, then to the dinner. That guy is a psychopath and he needs rehabilitation, because I see no reason why he doesn't want to move on, even after he messed up. I got up from bed quietly so I would not wake her up, went into the bathroom to wash up and brush my teeth before going down for a cup of coffee. It was still very early in the morning around 6:00am but I still wanted a cup of coffee. While I was in the kitchen preparing my coffee, Luke came down to join me so I made two. We were sipping in silence until I remembered right from a very young age, Luke knew how to identify the unknowns in any heist or robbery especially their family so I told him to get tabs on those who attacked us yesterday and make them suffer and pay for it. Drey nodded in response to my request. I know for sure I’m not going to school today but we have exams coming up so I have to wake Jacqueline up. I prepared breakfast for all of us, Luke took his and Tracy’s own up while I took mine with Jacqueline’s up. Luckily after placing the food on the table in my room, Jacqueline woke up making all parts of her body sight by stretching “Good morning. This food smells so nice”. I chuckled at her childish innocent act but told her to go freshen up, then she could come to eat. Jacqueline hurriedly got up, did everything so fast, she went into my closet to get herself a new clean shirt with a free sweatpants that turned out to be her size, then she came to join me because I was patiently waiting for her. When we were both done with breakfast she went to call Tracy out so they could go to her place first and get something school-approved to wear before going to class. Honestly, it's only when exams are fast approaching that the school officials are keen on what students wear to school. I took the plates down, cleaned up the kitchen, and heard Tracy and Jacqueline leaving “Jacqueline let me drop you guys off!” “No don't worry I already ordered an Uber!” she shouted back so I could hear from the kitchen. The next thing I heard was the sound of my door. I wonder why she ordered an Uber, cause her house isn't that far from mine, I would have simply dropped them off. Since I had nothing to do this morning I ended up watching a movie in the living room, halfway through the movie Daniella came back looking so exhausted, she looked drained. Before I could even ask anything she acted like I wasn't in the living room and walked so fast straight into her room. My face rumpled up immediately because I was shocked and still trying to understand why that sudden attitude, I wasn't the one who pissed her off. I continued concentrating on the movie I was watching but something else caught my attention, I noticed a silver round thing, very tiny close to the silver number on the wall clock, funny how this clock is new, I hung it up myself thinking it was my sister who ordered it. She said she ordered some things but she can't remember everything that she had ordered before cause it was a piled-up cart and she did not bother checking what was in the cart properly before sending it out so I opened and hung it. At first glance, I thought it was probably a company default on one of the silver numbers, but my whole being was disturbing me bad just to check properly. I brought it back down and to my greatest surprise it wasn't any default it was a camera. Immediately I hit the clock so hard on the ground and I stepped on it to break it. Daniella and Luke came running down the stairs to check what was happening. I called Bob immediately to come and dispose of it. Luke looked puzzled while Daniella looked like how she was when she came in this morning but a lot more frightened at the sight of me. I had to take in breaths to control my anger and I used my right hand to comb through my hair from the front. They were both still standing for an explanation, so I had to tell them about the camera. “It looks like we are being watched, I saw a camera in the clock, I was already imagining how many more cameras there are in this house. Daniella, you need to contact whoever you bought this from or lay a complaint because this is practically an invasion of one's privacy.
