Chapter 18

1081 Words
Jacqueline’s POV I fell asleep while watching cartoons on my tablet, but I woke up to the sound of a knock on the door. I inwardly complained about the knock waking me up, so I put my other pillow on my face trying to force myself back to sleep. I knew it won't work but it was worth trying. I got up thinking it was either Abuela or the housekeeper; to my surprise, it was Tracy. “Tracy? When did you start having courtesy in my house?” “Oh please what do you mean?”, she asked back, knowing fully well what I meant, because she barges into my room every time, even if she knocks she has never been patient enough for me to open the door for her unless it's locked. “Jacqueline why didn't you say you were leaving school early, I was looking for you everywhere on campus like a mad person and I'm really not exaggerating. Please next time just say something.” I sincerely apologized for not telling her, because I know how worried Tracy can be. “So there is going to be a party organized by a friend of mine and I want you to come Jacqueline and I'm not taking no for an answer” “Ughhh, Tracy remember our last encounter at the other party.” “Heyyy don't blame me. You invited me for that one. I had no idea about it. Trust me this one is going to be good. We are not inviting the boys so it's going to be our girls' night out.” “Fine Tracy, but I don't promise to stay long”. She squealed loudly in excitement, then she went to my bed and she literally jumped in my bed, then she lay on her stomach spreading her legs apart. I laughed at her playful behavior and hoped that she wouldn't get up wanting us to go to the mall to buy clothes. “What time is this party anyway?” “It's by 8”, she responded still very comfortable in my bed. “Hey scoot over I still want to sleep”, then Tracy did so and we both slept for a long while. We were both woken up by the housekeeper, my grandmother asked her to bring the food to us upstairs, and just the scent of the food made our bellies growl. After eating, Tracy checked her time then she remarked how fast the time goes. It was 6pm now and she was trying to be really fast in getting ready for the party. She looked through my closet and she saw nothing according to her. She had to go home and get some clothes. Initially I was thinking she was going for just her clothes, but Tracy came back with four dresses, one for herself and three for me so I can have options. I'm taller than her so these dresses will be very short. I chose the green one, but Tracy being Tracy gave me the black dress that has an opening in the front, it gives a Y-opening, and if I’m not careful my boobs might just pop out. She checked my heels collection and handed me a pair of silver heels and she took black heels with the red bottoms for herself. I took a silver purse while she took my wine purse. By the time we were done dressing it was already 8:30pm. Tracy ordered the ride and we arrived at the party at 9:10pm. I adjusted my dress properly and mustered a lot of confidence before walking through that door. Tracy held my hand and we both walked in together. Music was blasting loudly as soon as we stepped in. It seemed like the building was noise-proof because from outside I couldn't hear the music. Tracy was shouting trying to communicate to me cause of the loud music, but I still did not understand a word but I nodded like I understood, she also nodded and said she was coming, I understood that cause I read her lips. I was left alone dancing without a care in the world. I haven't even had any drink and I was already carefree. I felt like I needed this because of all the things I've been through, from my breakup with Andrew, to the fling I had with Drey. I never thought of it as a fling, I thought it was something different and special but I guessed wrong. Tracy came back with two drinks in her hand and gave one to me. It was going so well, I enjoyed every bit of it. A guy approached me asking for a dance, I wanted to decline politely but Tracy just had to leave intentionally. I know she did that deliberately because of the smile she had on her face. “Your friend is really nice, she gave us some space,” he said shouting trying to be heard over the music. “Can we go somewhere quiet?” he asked still shouting. I just nodded in response cause I also needed a break from the loud music and the crowd. We went outside and sat on the porch. I started stargazing because the sky looked so beautiful. I didn't even know I zoned out until the person I was with waved his hand in front of my face. “Sorry I got lost in the stars,” I said apologetically “That's fine the sky looks really beautiful tonight”, he said “It always is”. “I’m Bryan by the way”, he said introducing himself. I just told him okay “You don't want to introduce yourself to me?” “Yes, Bryan I do not want that. I came for just the party” This pissed Bryan off, that the glass I placed between us he picked it up and threw it on the floor. Then and there I knew not to trust a book by its cover, he looked all calm but his prentious act said otherwise. I felt irritated, then I got up angrily so I left Bryan. I left the house party venue but not too far. I was walking allowing the night to devour my worries at least. Before I could see what was going on, a sack was put on my head and I was dragged into a moving vehicle.
