Another Girl, But More Attractive

Then again, I can't just leave this here. I texted my mom that I was gonna eat with some friends, hit send, and set my phone on silent. I entered the pawn shop. I looked around to see if I could spot Alex and Jenna. Luckily, I was able to find them. And, there was a shelf behind them. So I hid behind that shelf to listen in on the conversation. "Alright Damien, don't breathe too loud, that got you in trouble, remember?" I reminded myself. I pressed my back against the shelf, then carefully got my way to one of the sides and peeked into what they were saying. "Hmm. C'mon, c'mon... Oh! This blade looks-" Jenna reached up to grab the razor blade, until... SMACK! Alex smacked Jenna's hand from grabbing it. "Ow! Why'd you-" "Jenna," Alex put her hand on her hips in frustration; pure frustration, unfortunately, "what did we say about the razor blades?" "I was just gonna... look at it." Jenna reached back up for it. "Look all you want," Alex sighed, "I'm the one finding your razor blades. The best kind that'll kill you quicker, but slowly." "Quickly but slowly?" I asked myself. "Yeah, that makes total sense for someone's who trying to be a friend." My phone vibrated at that moment. It was just my mom. Wait a minute... Why do I even have a phone? I got punished in the last chapter.. this doesn't make any sense. Just then, the phone vanished from my hand. It was just... gone. Not entirely sure where it went, but it wasn't worth looking for it. Filler moments is the worse, ya know? Disappointed, I walked home for dinner. Since my phone vanished, I'm guessing my text history was removed from that certain time slot. Still, it was late. My parents hate it when I'm out late without friends. It's a long s********e family s**t happened a while ago and it's not worth talking about that anyway, ~~~ School is pretty good so far. Classes haven't been too demanding this period. Not too mention, no sign of Alex! Unfortunately, no sign of Jenna. I somehow needed to tell her about her possibly psychotic BFF, but how in the absolute hell was I going to do somethin' like that? Well, I'm not sure either. I couldn't just say it bluntly. I can only imagine what would happen at that point. I have time to think, though. I'm meeting up with Michael today, too! I can tell him all about it. Man, walking down the hallways while thinking about your current life is actually pretty calming- "Ah!" shrieked a person from in front of me. The person was cute, just like Alex. Just like her, she was Asian-American. Her wavy, black, with blonde highlights, hair going a few inches past her shoulders. She was only an inch smaller than me. She surprisingly didn't seem to mind my height. As if she's seen it before... Idiotically and out of natural first reaction when I see someone cute, I just replied with, "Huh?" "Oh, hey Damien!" the person chirped. "Oh... hey. Um, I'm afraid we haven't met before, but I'm sorry I just suddenly bumped into you! I was just trying to get to my friend and you just happened to turn around and-" "He, he," the person giggled, "Jeez, you're just like Michael!" "Y-you know Michael?" Again, another idiotic-sounding tone like from before. "Hello? I've been in his class for the past 2 years!" She seemed to get mad or frustrated, but she seemed to look cute in the process. Just like Alex, except... it was somewhat different. "Sorry.. doesn't ring a bell.." I blushed with embarrassment since I was messing up my time with a girl who was downright attractive. "Name's Kayla! Just remember it from now on, 'kay?" she said. Finally, it rung a bell. "Oh! Kayla Helder! Never had a crush on her, but now standing in front of her... Damn, I'm a disappointed. And I'm blushing again... fuuuck." "Hey, man? You're blushing again. Aw... do you think some girl like me is cute?" Her eyes changed like she was trying to reach inside me. I swallowed, and thought to myself, "Yes. I do." Wait... f**k. Just said that aloud. That was supposed to be- Kayla burst out laughing, and the other girls she was talking to laughed, too. "Uh-um... I'm sorry for being like that. Normally I'm not-" Kayla gave me a kiss on the forehead, "Don't worry! I know you didn't mean to say that out loud. Thanks for your opinion, though~!" She then gave me a hug and went off to class. The bell had rung, and my time with Michael was gone. After that entire experience, I couldn't get rid of my blushing that rest of the school day. At the end of the day, Kayla was waiting for me at the gate of the school. "What the hell? I didn't tell her to meet me here! Christ, she's gonna tease me even more.." I walked passed her. Or at least tried to. "Hey!" She grabbed my arm before I could cross the street. "Ah! Don't do that!" I crossed my arms over at this girl. She was too much of a teaser. She already humiliated me enough. "Hey~! Don't give me that mean look! Just because some attractive eighth grader humiliated you doesn't give you the right to be so protective of yourself." She inched closer to me. "H-hey! Don't just get-" She put her finger to my lips, shutting me up immediately. I had a feeling I was gonna either die right here, right now, or I was about to get reverse r***d. Okay, a bit of a strong choice of words; let's say I could get forcibly laid. She only gave me another forehead kiss, and that was enough to calm me down, even if I was literally about to melt. "Look, I think you're cool and all... and you're somewhat cute, too. Look, I know that you're in seventh grade, and I'm in eighth grade, but that doesn't matter to me!" "What in the absolute hell?! This girl I've never before is now suddenly approaching me as some desperate lover. I know I'm going to fall for it but I'm literally going to be soaking into the road and sidewalk before I even answer!" "What I'm trying to say is," she breathed in, "if you need any help, with anything, I'll be there. I feel like you're one of those guys that get beaten up a lot, and I just want to know that I think you're worth it and I'm always someone you can talk to. Here, take my number." She took out a pen and wrote her number on my hand. I took out my notepad that I just so conveniently had, yet I don't remember putting it in my pocket at all, and my pen and wrote down the number. "Ah, thanks. But with the forehead kisses, can we stop?" It was actually hard to blurt that out. "Haha, no! It's our little thing now, right?" She winked at me and then walked down the sidewalk home. Well, this is just great. My forehead now gets twice the torture; flicks from Alex and kisses from Kayla. Though to be honest the kisses are better than the flicks. But I suppose I can use Kayla as a tool to help me with my Jenna project. She has access to a phone that wouldn't just disappear out of thin air, and she can actually talk to Alex when I can't. Damn, maybe I do like her, probably more than Alex. Yikes...
