----- In a faraway universe, there stand the peaceful lands of Cawayan. Then, a tremendous eerie sound filled the sky, it was the start of the despair of mankind. As the monsters appear and devour mankind and the helpless people who do try their best to fight for survival, lose their hope. Until, a man suddenly ascended from the heavens. After claiming to be an immortal god, he also announced that he will help mankind. He granted people capability to magic abilities and taught mankind how to fight the monsters. Although not all of the people manifested an ability, they all fought the monsters altogether. The number of monsters seemed to be reduced but they could not defeat them all. Afraid of the great catastrophe to happen again, the people decided to make the Immortal God to be their Emperor. With a mischievous smile on his face, he agreed. He then assigned titles for the four strongest people who received and managed to control the elemental abilities. Forst of the earth, Seymour of the water, Levan of the wind, and Rivin of the fire. They became the strongest Elementals within the empire of Cawayan. Many years passed, people had peace but waves of unexpected monster attacks still happened and the strongest families, knights and warriors did their best to defend the empire and the people. - - - - - While the current Flame Duke is having a walk in the town with his wife, a sudden person with a knife attacks them. It was his past lover Irene. “HOW DARE YOU DO THIS TO ME, ELIO RIVIN!?!?” The lady screamed in the middle of the plaza gathering all attention to them. The Flame Duke held his wife trying to protect her from the lady who attacked them. “What the hell are you doing Irene?!” He asked her. He had an idea why she attacked them. Because Irene was his past lover. Irene laughed while holding a knife in her hand. “Doing?! This is revenge! That b***h stole you from me!!” she pointed her knife at his wife who was shivering in fear. “Stole? We have been separated for a long time Irene! The stone on her wand shone and a magic circle appeared on the ground. Thick red smoke appeared and entered the duke’s body. He fell to his knees and couldn’t breathe properly. “HAHAHA NOW YOU WILL PAY FOR WHAT YOU’VE DONE—aacckk.” Irene fell down on her knees and coughed blood. Her eyes widened while she stared at the wand on her hand. A figure of a man in robes formed in front of her. “You! What’s wrong with me?! You said the spell will work perfectly!” she yelled at it. The man snickered and stared at her. “It worked. You’re just stupid. You didn’t think that type of spell is easy. Of course you have a price to pay.” After those words the man disappeared. At the same time the Flame Duke fainted. Many healers and priests tried to figure out what happened to the duke. The knights moved to seize the woman who casted the spell but she was already dead. They resorted to one thing, the Emperor. They asked him to take a look at the duke’s condition and he only said these words… “hmm… he will die soon. He’s cursed.” News of what happened that day was published in newspapers and was distributed all across the empire. Many rumours roamed about people wondering ‘who will be the next Duke?’ days after he died. Then his wife, the duchess showed signs of pregnancy. The next heir to the Flame is born. The child grew up greatly and has achieved great things. Although, many citizens did not know that the curse was also passed along the family’s elemental ability. “That’s the history of our family, Kenna. And…. You are next.” I flinched as I woke up from a dream. It was the same story that my mother told me that day. I still can remember how my mother cried, my brother's sad face. I placed my hand on my birthmark at my chest. I am cursed. My curse showed up at a very early age and I found a way to live longer. But things continue to get worse… I might end up facing my own destiny. I smirked and looked at the midnight sky. “You there… I hope you’re doing well. We’ll meet again soon…”
