Chapter 48
Zara sat in the teacher's lounge, sipping her coffee and chatting with Ruby's teacher, Mrs. Johnson. They were discussing Ruby's progress in class when Zara brought up the issue of bullying.
"Mrs. Johnson, I wanted to talk to you about something that's been concerning me," Zara said, her brow furrowed with worry. "Ruby's been coming home from school upset, and she's mentioned that some kids have been teasing her about not having a father."
Mrs. Johnson's expression turned serious. "I'm so sorry to hear that, Zara. We take bullying very seriously here, and I'll do everything I can to help."
Zara nodded, feeling a sense of determination. "I appreciate that, Mrs. Johnson. I want to get to the bottom of this and make sure those kids never bother Ruby again."
