Prologue
"Raine, listen to me and listen to me well. No matter what keep running and don't stop running until I catch up. Do you understand?" I looked up at my dad still half asleep utterly confused as to why he was in my bedroom at 4 o'clock in the morning when he knew I had school in the morning. This has to be a dream, I nod my head and try to roll back over but a loud bang startled me.
"Daddy what was that?" I asked now jumping up out of bed. "There's no time to explain, hide and no matter what you see stay hidden" I look at my dad one last time and take off to my favorite spot in the house hidden beneath the floor completely undetectable. The sounds of growls and flesh being ripped from a bodies echo throughout the house. The smell of blood was overwhelming but none of that bothered me, what bothered me is the silence that followed.
The silence that followed the sounds of my parents being ripped to shreds is what keeps me up most nights. I was 16 years old when a group of rouges came into my home and took everything from me. That was almost 5 years ago. I went from the top of the world to the bottom of the barrel that day. That was the day I died not physically but mentally. Life no longer had a purpose nor was there any hope. I was forced to leave my home and everything I loved behind to go live with my Uncle Nate and his pack. My Uncle Nathan was the Alpha of 'The Blue Moonshine Pack' I made a vow to myself that I would train and become a warrior for my uncle's pack seeing as though he was my dads little brother and I was my dad's only child. I was born with Alpha blood and I knew from a very early age that when my pops was good and ready that title was mine. My father Nicklaus Reid was the Alpha of The Blood Moon Pack. He well we were the most power pack until someone decided he was a threat instead of a great ally and put a price on our heads. Boy was I in for a rude awakening, because unbeknownst to me the Blue Moonshine Pack would be anything but welcoming. I would spend the next 5 years being the runt of the litter.
