Kate's team traced the notebook to a small stationery store on the outskirts of town. The owner, a nervous-looking man named Mr. Jenkins, revealed that a mysterious figure had purchased a batch of identical notebooks a week prior.

As Kate pressed for more information, Jenkins hesitated, glancing over his shoulder. "I don't want to get involved, detective. This person...they didn't seem right."

Kate's instincts kicked in. "What do you mean?"

Jenkins leaned in, his voice barely audible. "They had an aura about them. Dark. Sinister. Like they were hiding something."

Kate's mind raced. Was this the killer? Or someone else entirely?

Meanwhile, Kate's partner, Detective Ryan, had been digging into Sarah's past. He discovered a shocking revelation: Sarah had been involved in a high-stakes fraud scheme, along with several other victims.
