Silence did not return after the light vanished. It stayed. Heavy. Alive. Lyra Vale stood in the center of the chamber, motionless. Her eyes were open—but unfocused, as if she were seeing something far beyond the room itself. Kael Draven took one careful step toward her. “Lyra…” he said softly. No response. The second Alpha stayed behind, watching her like a calculation that no longer made sense. Kael moved closer. “Lyra, can you hear me?” Still nothing. Then— Lyra blinked. Once. Slowly. And the first thing she did was look at her own hands. As if she didn’t recognize them. “…this body…” she whispered. Kael’s chest tightened. “What did you say?” Her fingers curled slightly. Not shaking. Testing. “…it’s still here,” she said. The second Alpha frowned. “Still here?”
