  EVE   The alarm wouldn't shut up. It kept blaring like some cruel joke, and for a second, I was tempted to throw my phone against the wall. Goodness gracious, why did alarms only work when you didn't want them to? I groaned, dragging the blanket over my face like it could magically erase time.   Finally, I reached out and snatched my phone from the nightstand, blinking blearily at the screen.   11:35.   My eyes widened. "Oh, shoot."
