Women!

~Thierry~ There wasn’t much to do in the Kingdom, so I sat in my chair and let the memories of her consume me. I wasn’t a cruel ruler, not by a long shot, it took a lot to get me there, but over the course of a millennia, I often wondered if there was anything left of the man I once was. I lead my faction with kindness and fury if need be. There was only but one and I hoped that day would come so I could kill the vile and repulsive creature that was the cause of my misfortune. I wasn’t about to let another one thousand years pass me by. The time had come to end it all even if I died with her. Anything was better than living without her………if you could call this living? Immortality is nothing without your mate. Dante, Kade and I know that hollow feeling all too well. But mine was cursed. I’d meet my mate and everytime right before she’d accept me as hers she was taken from me again by the one that sacrificed her life. So you see. I am what you call the first Vampire. I was cursed to be like this and to see my mate die throughout the millennia. Amara's obsession is what made me this in the first place, but I’m nothing like the kind you refer to as feral or rogue. Although those are far and few nowadays. I had nothing, but a few rules. One you do not under any circumstances ever force or compel another human or supernatural. Two you do not kill for the sake of killing. Three, if you are granted permission you only take a little of one’s blood, but I guess it still falls under rule number one. Four, drinking directly from the vein and marking your mate is sacred. You do not abuse it. Ever! Of course, I was thankful that my first life granted me a fortune and over the millennium that fortune grew exponentially. Morden days called for modern change and the time that we drank from the vein was nonexistent. Unless it came from our mates! Donors and warm blood bags are the only ways we drink blood currently. Drinking from the vein, was saved for our mates and only then small amounts were permitted, but then again ones mate blood made you stronger because of the bond shared between them. Our bite was similar to that of the werewolves. They marked their mate once they consummate their bond. The intimate bonding of two souls in the throws of passion, love, lust and haze. The moment when your souls bonded you forever and marked your body and very being. A climax like no other. One you can't explain unless you've done it yourself. Both would be satisfied and satiated and undoubtedly marked by the end of it…call it a natural high, but nothing compared until it was done with your mate. Ours was basically the same thing, but with ours we learned early on that the bite would soon be addictive. Humans craved it like a junkie craved crack. Of course, we had to do something about it before it got out of hand. And that’s why I came up with the first solution. I only took from a willing doner a slice of the vein, poured in a glass and, then a small exchange of my blood to heal the wound as if nothing ever happened. That was one less thing I had to worry about. But, of course, thanks to technology and modern science in present times. Blood banks existed and I didn’t have to worry about explaining a trail of dead bodies and people with no memories of what happened to them. I was lost in thought when Dante and Kade walked through the throne room. I chuckle because how outdated was that? But let's call it what it is. They looked giddy if a vampire could be identified as such. “Did you hear?” Dante says as he hands me a folded formal letter addressed to me by the King of Lycan's himself. I looked up at him in surprise. My left brow rose at the sudden intrusion. “What?” I asked a little too harshly. I took the letter from his hand. When he spoke, “You’ve been summoned, My King.” I rolled my eyes. I hated it when he called me king. I looked at him and felt my eyes flare to their silver shade. “Do not call me that.” I said through clenched teeth. He chuckles. “Sorry your Highness. But your presence is needed. The council has requested a mandatory meeting.” I give the letter a once over. I don’t know how legit this meeting is or if it’s the little witch Tatianna’s doing. Let me explain myself Tatianna and I have a long history five hundred years long, but Tatianna isn’t my Goddess Fated Mate. When she took her aunts' place as a council member, she became infatuated with me. I, being the first of my kind, was also a council member. Her obsession with me is questionable even to myself. I could never ever touch her because that would only make her crave me more and that was something that I couldn’t give her. I wouldn't allow myself the comfort of a woman that didn't belong to me. My heart and love belonged to someone else. My touch and body longed for her. Danté sat on my left and Kade on my right. “What you thinking man?” Kade says, slapping my back. I scratched the back of my neck. “I’m hoping it’s not one of Tatianna’s traps to get me in bed with her.” I don't miss the repulsive tone in my voice. I wouldn't touch her even with a twenty-foot pole. I haven't been able to figure out if she's going to be a problem that I'd have to fix. They laugh. “Dude, how is it that with one meeting you get all these chicks wanting to sit on your lap?” Kade says with a glint in his eyes. I chuckle because he doesn't realize that women are psychotic and the very reason we are what we are.. “It’s really not what you think it is. I don’t take pleasure in women obsessing over me. Look where that got us. Besides, I’m taken, my heart is taken and therefore, the only one that can touch my body is my mate.” I say matter of factly. Danté punches my arm. “Yeah, but I mean come on, Tatianna is so ripe.” I rolled my eyes. Tatianna is as gorgeous as any other witch. Tall, legs for days, hair that falls in golden waves down her ass, plump lips, violet eyes that can kill with just one look, but don’t underestimate her……deep down Tatianna was a parana and she'd stop at nothing to get her way. I shrugged and patted my best friends on the back. “If y’all want a go at her, by all means help yourselves. I’ll be damned if I let another woman into my life.” friend or foe. I no longer dealt with women in any type of relationship. The only way I'd come near one is if she is mated, otherwise no woman could request an audience with me. And this was in all honesty. I’m not going to let history repeat itself with another of my mistakes. Being tricked into being a woman’s friend is what landed me in this cursed life in the first place. It’s not in my nature to regret anything and I don’t, but this all started with one woman and I promised myself and my mate that it was going to end with that woman……… I got up from my chair and looked at my brother’s. “Now if you’ll excuse me. I’m going to call the Lycan King and find out what this is all about.” ****************************************************** Darius the Lycan King rules his kingdom with an iron fist. The werewolves admire him as they should, but they don’t necessarily fear him. Again, we learned quickly what worked for us and how to proceed to rule. Rogues are a thing of the past, but every now and again you get one or two. It’s rare. Sometimes a wolf loses a mate and they go feral, losing their human half. But Darius delivers a small mercy and, with a heavy heart, puts them out of their misery. Darius and I share a similar story. You see the Lycan King once had a mate and her Father forced her to reject him. Of course, Selene couldn’t do it. Rejecting one's mate was like rejecting apart of you, so her father took her life and the one she was carrying. With a heavy sigh, I waited until he answered my call. “Darius, what is this about a council meeting?” Darius huffs at that moody bas.tard. “Well I can’t disclose very much information because this concerns one of my Alpha’s and his Luna.” Darius was never one to disclose such delicate information. Regarding this specific couple and Alpha and Luna are held with the upmost respect. Their pack is one of the biggest in the continent and their son is about to get his transfer of power upon his graduation ceremony. “Alright D, so what is this about?” The Lycan King sighed. “Well, it concerns a very special institution.” his tone exuded pride. He sounded very fond of it actually. I have an idea where he’s going with this. “I see. And what of this Academy?” I wait. Patience is a virtue, after all. I pinch the bridge of my nose until he decides to answer. “This stays between us Thierry.” “Of course.” “The Academy is run by one of the greatest Alpha’s in the history of Wolf Kind. Different factions study there. That’s rare. Normally we tend to stay away from each other.” “Agreed, so what makes this place so special?” “Well, Roman and Thea wanted a place for their children and pack children to learn as well as train.” But Darius is leaving out a crucial part of the information. Roman and Thea once got in touch with me to grant them permission to take in a lone vampire. She was about twelve in age and couldn’t control her emotions. Her parents didn’t want to deal with her, so I put her in the hands of the Alpha and his Luna safely. While there, she learned to hone in her emotions and abilities as a fledgling. She graduated from the Academy and is now on my personal guard. I must admit the Alpha trained her well. She is one of the best and that was about ten years ago. “They make it look easy for the factions to co-exist. I wonder how exactly it is possible. Because the council thinks it’s beneficial and crucial to the factions if there were more like the St. John, Institution. ” He murmured. I sighed. “But it’s not out of the ordinary. I mean we find mates of all factions, it's not like that's a secret. A mate is a Goddess' blessing. Hell I know a few Vampires that have witches and wolves and Fae as mates. Darius the goddess doesn’t discriminate and separate factions.” Darius couldn’t say a thing because his mate was a werewolf shifter, which’s a big difference between a Lycan. They were massive creatures well over eight feet in height, with claws that could slice you in half like butter. He grumbles something inaudibly. “Don’t be upset Thierry. I didn’t mean it that way. I mean how did they adapt? I mean, as far as I know, academically, these students excel and they have a training program catered to each faction. It is also mandatory that they know hand to hand combat.” I wondered where exactly he was going with this bit of information. Hmmm. I guess the Lycan King was right. “Team effort. The students do their part and so do their educators.” “Yes, Thea was always a stickler for education. Anyways, there's something you should know,” he says. “What?” “Theirs a hybrid amongst them.” and if we were in the same room you could have felt how stifling it was, so much so that you could hear a pin drop. I ran my fingers through my dark tresses. “How do you know?” “Tatianna.” I mentally rolled my eyes. Because that woman makes it her personal mission to know everything about everyone. “Of course,” I said, mildly irritated. He chuckles. “That was a one and done deal. I had to know what she knew. I don’t trust witches like her.” Yeah, join the club buddy, because neither did I. I laugh because I think he thinks that Tatianna and I are a thing. “Oh no buddy, better you than me.” I tried to regain my composure. Darius laughs too. Over the years, we have become like brothers. Every time he knows and finds valuable information he lets me know and vice versa. “Oh no, thank you. That woman is still obsessed with you.” That in itself is a curse. “ Yeah, look where that got me,” I hiss. “Thierry, the hybrid is……” I closed my eyes and thought of her. “What about the hybrid?” Darius sighs. “I think it’s Hahnnah…” he lets the rest of his sentence fall. It’s been a millennia since we’ve said that name. It’s always different. She always looks pretty much the same, hair slightly darker, eyes a different shade, but there is always a new scar from life before. I swallowed the lump in my throat and bite my lip. “How can you be so sure?” Darius coughs and lets out a sound that vaguely sounds like he’s choking. “Tatianna has a picture of her distant cousin hugging her friend. I saw the photo myself, Thierry.” I sigh. “This time it feels different.” I hear the sound of his breathing. The rhythm of it is forlorn and soft. “I know this time she has a wolf and she’s part vampire,” he says. The vampire gene is hard to explain. Partly because of her last life. We were so close. I shared my blood and then Amara took her life. It now makes perfect sense why she’s a hybrid. She died with my blood in her body and when her soul recycled she came back a hybrid. It’s hard to speak because I’m busy trying to process everything that I just learned. “Be careful Thierry. If you need anything, you know where to find me. I’m telling the rest I have chosen you to see the Academy.” My head suddenly throbs and my heart beats erratically. “Are you giving me an invitation?” I ask. He huffs. “I’m giving you a way in, brother.” And the line goes dead.
