The Council!

~Jazabell~ Lips so smooth smashed against mine. I could feel the hard body pressed against me. His movements were so fast, but sweet. The way he moved a stray strand of hair away from my face. I could feel the vibration of his chest as he chuckled. Leaving behind goosebumps that travel all over my body. He runs his nose from side to side………against the crook of my neck contemplating something. I feel the graze of his incisors and I want him to…………I bite back a sob because I know he won’t. But his touch and scent drive me crazy with frustrated lust. His lips move to the hollow of my throat and he just places the most delicious kiss right there and I can feel myself pooling between my thighs, but his teasing only illicit's a moan that I just cannot bite back. Meanwhile, he runs his fingers through my chocolate locks and breathes me in. He whispers things I can’t hear and it makes my heart ache because this beautiful man is trying to tell me something and I can't hear him, when all I want is to hear him speak. This dream is similar but not……I look like me, but then again I don’t and just when I think he’s finally going to sink his teeth into the crook of my neck. I feel a sharp pain in my back and he’s gone. And it makes me want to cry………and I can't help the tears that spring from my eyes from the sudden loss of him. I immediately woke up coughing and choking. I held my hands against my throat, trying and failing to steady myself. The sweat dripping down my body was sticky and gross. I checked my phone and saw it was only four-thirty a.m. Thankfully, I don’t have to be up. I throw myself back on the bed and hope sleep welcomes me. ************************************************** I did in fact fall back asleep for a few hours. I didn’t dream about that beautiful man with the glowing silver eyes again. I feel like my dreams are trying to make up for my lack of intimacy and mate. Some of my werewolf peers had already found their mates and it was only natural. I mean look at my brother and Vera, they were so hung up on each other………I didn’t want to continue that train of thought because it was only going to be more painful for them once they found their mates. It’s a little after nine a.m. and I head straight for my shower. Letting the hot water relax my body. I could still feel the throbbing ache between my legs. Not once did he touch me in places he shouldn’t. But I couldn’t help but wonder who he was to me? Why was it that I only ever dreamed of him? I finished washing myself in the nick of time. I brushed my teeth quickly and then I pulled on my favorite pair of black leather pants, a long sleeve shirt, my combat boots and finished off my look with my leather jacket. I ran my styling product through my hair, added some nude gloss to my plump lips and mascara to my lashes. I giggle because Vera always says mascara brings out my eyes, but it’s strange because my eyes resemble storm clouds. I contemplated looking for Vera, but I had no doubt in my mind that she was too busy keeping Alpha warm in his bed. So I made my way to the dining hall. It was pretty scarce for your typical Sunday morning. Students in and out since it’s the weekend. I get my tray and a large plate and pile on some scrambled eggs, hash, bacon, a bowl of fruit and a large glass of o.j. But hold up, I know what you're thinking. How can I maintain my physic……I’m a werewolf and I burn a lot of energy and my metabolism is through the roof. I go and sit at our table and just when I was about to take a bite out of my breakfast. I feel the quick heat of Jace’s lips on my cheek. He gives me that signature half smile that guys seem to possess naturally and he sits down next to me. He chews and quickly swallows. “What’s with the battle vibes,” he asks, pointing his finger up and down my body. I raise my left eyebrow at him. “Says the assassin that’s always dressed to kill.” I say with a sly smile while I bite into my fruit. Jace raises a hand in mock surrender, “This is just how I dress," I add. He flashes me that panty-dropping smile. “I’m not complaining.” And suddenly I feel a wave of insecurity. Jace openly gawking is new to me. Like I said, I don’t consider myself ugly. I’m just different and sometimes it's obvious that I don't fit in and that includes being surrounded by my pack. I'm always left feeling like the odd one out. Jacw taps my hand with a gentle finger. If we were mates, I’d feel electricity run through my body. But I felt his kindness through the pack link. “Hey,” he says. “You’re gorgeous Jaz, whether you think so or not. Your mate is going to be lucky when he finds you.” He says with a little sadness lacing his deep voice. I grab his hands and squeeze them gently together with mine. “You’re mate will be the luckiest,” I say, and he smiles. That's all I wanted for him. True happiness with his mate, he deserved it. We eat in comfortable silence and I let my thoughts run. Hopeful that we'd both find that one person that will truly complete us and make us whole. Our Goddess fated mates. I bit my lip. Jace never takes more than what is offered to him. I mean I’ve heard how crazy he is in bed. That he’s an aggressive but gentle lover. I wouldn’t personally know because he wouldn’t dare get any further with me other than a few stolen kisses here and there. “Hey, if you’re down for a session later let me know,” he says huskily. His voice sent delicious shivers down my spine. Jace was sexy and the entire package. Tall six feet two inches and muscular, blonde hair slicked back but buzzed on the sides, deep penetrating hazel eyes that a girl could get lost in. He was perfect in every sense of the word and equally as dangerous. He wouldn't be the leading assassin if he wasn't. I nodded, looking down at my tray. “I’m down,, later though,” I add. We were just about done when Vera and Sophie sat across from us. Vera eyes Jace and I suspiciously, but she can't really say anything when she's sleeping with the Alpha and neither have found their mates as of yet. He chugs the rest of his O.J. and places his fingers on his chin, seemingly amused at Vera’s reaction to us sitting together. I raised my brows at her. “What’s up?” I asked. Vera and Sophie don’t say anything and suddenly Jace looks uncomfortable. What bug bit him? “Uh am I missing something here?” I asked, looking back and forth between the three of them trying to read their expressions. Vera’s eyes flashed to their electric purple shade, Jace’s were burning gold and Sophie wouldn’t even meet my gaze. “Okay, what the hell is going on here?” I snapped my fingers at them. Which was rude on my part, but I hated it when they kept something from me. We were a team, a pack and family. I look at Jace. “Don’t look at me. I can’t disclose any information.” I rolled my eyes at him. I hated it when he went into ranked wolf mode. I looked at Vera and Sophie. “Alright you two, spill.” Because I knew eventually they would give in. I could use my aura, but I didn't want to do that to either of them. Vera bites her lip and Sophie presses hers together into a thin pink line. What had them all tongue tied? I wondered. But Sophie is the first to break and speaks up. “Uh, there’s going to be a council meeting tomorrow.” She whispers. I scratched my left brow in mild irritation because we’ve had meetings before. “So?” Vera sighs. “So? The High Council is sending a member to come see the school.” “Okay, and why is it bad?” I wondered. “This stays between us,” Jace says. We all nod in agreement. “It’s not bad per-say. Alpha has already briefed us about it. It’s just the council finds us odd.” He drawls huskily. I c**k my head to the side. “Odd? Why?” “Because we’re the only Academy with all the factions,” Vera says, minus one. Lycans tended to keep to themselves. And then it dawned on me. That we were a lot different than I had even noticed, because while all of us might be of a different faction, here we were just friends. “Oh,” was all I could muster. Jace pulls me into his overheated body and kisses the top of my head. “Don’t worry Princess, it’s going to be alright.” He says and gets up to throw his stuff away. Then something clicked inside me. “Oh Goddess, what are they fishing for?” I asked. “Okay, you know how I have that bi.tch, long distant cousin?” Sophie and I nodded. “Vaguely, but sure,” I said. Vera nods, “Well, she’s on the High Council and she thinks it would be in the faction's best interest if we had more Academy’s like St. John.” “Okay.” I didn’t know what else to say. Sophie stayed pretty quiet throughout the conversation. Her parents are council members. Actually, they are another power couple. Itza, her mom, is the Fae coven leader and her father, Amir, is one of the greatest wizards of all time. “They want to see how we function and interact with each other,” Vera says. Great…………… Now some snooty council member was going to be fishing around here for Goddess knew how long. Were we even ready for something like that? But if my Dad had already spoken to the werewolves, then it was already settled. Soon a member of the High Council was going to barge in here and creep around to see how we worked or didn't work together. Just fu.cking great.
