~Thierry~ After we left the Alpha couple's conference hall. Ezra took off like a bat out of hell. I can't complain or blame any of them. Especially Dante and Kade. They've lived so long without Mate's that they too have wondered if the Goddesses would ever bless them with one of their own. Of course, I can't lie either and say they've held out hope. I was a prime example of what hope got you an endless cycle of rebirth and death and never truly being happy with the one that was meant for you, but slowly hope began to creep back in. My soul yearned for such hope. "Uh, is it okay if we split?" Kade asks, shyly rubbing the back of his neck. They didn't want to waste any time. I thought. I c**k my head and look at my third in command. He was so self-assured and such a ladies' man that seeing him flustered was somewhat amusing. I chuckled and smiled at them, their boyish features were now more relaxed, you couldn't tell they were over a thousand years old. For once, they looked their age of twenty and I couldn't thank the Goddesses enough for blessing them with mates, of their own. "Yes, go." I laughed, shoving them forward. I didn't need to tell them twice and with a blink of an eye they disappeared. I walked through the endless corridors lost in the darkness of my thoughts. Maybe Dante was right and he was onto something important and something that perhaps I've missed time and time again, but I just couldn't understand why her wolf would keep something as significant as a name from her human counterpart. It wasn't making any sense to me. But I wasn't a wolf, so maybe it made sense to the wolf that she was keeping her identity to herself, but so much lied with this one detail. I just wanted to figure out what it was. Now, if only I could find my way to the dining hall instead of getting lost through the endless left and right turns of the institution, would be nice. I had no idea where I was going, I was completely and utterly lost. How Dante and Kade knew where to go was beyond me. Ezra grew up here most of her young life. It's not like she had forgotten where to go. I sighed deeply, trying to center myself and figure out where the hell to go. I should have asked Thea for a damn map, suddenly I felt the sparks of her touch shoot up through my arms as she held onto my hand. I looked down at her and smiled with relief. Relief that she came to my rescue and relief that she had the confidence to hold my hand. Sadly, I thought she'd refrain from any physical contact with me because the bond did a number on you once it snapped into place and she didn't know the story, our entire story and history. How intense our love was. Her stormy grey eyes swirled with gold met my own. "Is this okay?" she murmured, her voice was soft and unsure looking down at our interlocked hands. I let her lead me to wherever she was taking us. "It's perfect," I added, With a sly smile she continues walking through a long corridor and then takes a turn to her right. She walks with such confidence and grace, reminds me of the times I caught her walking through the long corridors of the Castle, gazing upon portraits of herself and the both of us together through the Millennia. Soon she leads us through the French double doors of the dining hall. On second thought, I should have asked the Alpha couple to address the Vampire faction. I hated formalities, especially since my Mate was one of them. The ones already having dinner stood up and bowed. "Rise," I said, trying not to show my irritation. "Please, let's leave out the formalities, or pretend I'm not here." Anything would be better than the constant bowing. Darius was going to hear about this. I wasn't going to let the Lycan King get away with this. He was probably laughing his ass off at my expense right about now. Hahnnah chuckled beside me as she led me to the buffet bar. She grabbed a gray tray and a white dinner plate and added rice, shrimp and vegetables, then a bowl of mixed fruit and a small bowl of jello. I inwardly smiled, glad that she now had such a hearty appetite. "Would you like anything?" she offered. I gently shook my head at her. I had already fed beforehand and it was not like blood wasn't available. "I'll pick at whatever you're having," I smiled, then promptly added, "I wouldn't say no to a bottle of water." She gave me a slight nod then grabbed two bottles. "Remind me to speak to the Alpha couple about this." I whispered in her ear. "We'll talk to them." she says with a nod, and I didn't miss the throbbing vein in her neck as I spoke, the hitch in her breath at my proximity to such an intimate part of her, and then I caught her biting her bottom lip. This was our natural reaction to each other with or without the bond, but the bond seemed to heighten such reactions from both of us. The difficulty fighting through it had me clenching my jaws tight. My teeth ached, that dominant part of me ached to sink my fangs into her soft tender neck and mark her as mine, but I refrained from such a spectacle. I'd do it when she so wished it and was ready and consented. "Don't like the attention your highness?" she said, trying but failing to hold back the laugh that wanted to escape her glossy lips. Touche little mate. "I hate eyes on me." I murmured. "Not your eyes, I find those enthralling when you look at me." I suppose my admission might have been too forward for her. I led her to a table that overlooked the mountains so she was more comfortable and not facing anyone and pulled the chair out for her. "Such a gentleman," she says as she sits down and places her tray neatly in front of her while I tuck her in. "I like to think my Mother raised me right." She stabs her fork into the shrimp and bites. I don't know what to make of her. One minute she oozes confidence and then the next she's shy. Goddess help me. After she swallows, she sighs. "I'm sorry, I'm so awkward. I don't know what to do." she shrugs and then starts to play with her fingers. I had to get her out of her head. "Tell me something, anything. I like hearing you speak, but don't forget about your dinner." She takes a swig of water then puts it back down with yet another deep sigh. "I....I...." another bite of her lip. "Hahn...." but then turned those gray eyes in my direction. They narrow at me and I have no idea what she's going to ask, but maybe she's taken notice of my numerous slip-ups, but she will always be my Hahnnah in any and every life. "What are you trying to say? You keep saying Hah. What does it mean?" she murmurs. Then I sigh because I really don't know how much I should say and what she knows or doesn't. Every scenario changes each time. It's never a repeat. "I'll tell you if you tell me something." I compromised, maybe she'd be open-minded and open her mind and her heart to me enough to let me in and see the parts of her she keeps hidden and locked tight. But she thinks, I don't try to push into her mind, I'd rather her tell me and I know she wants to say something. I can see it in her eyes, but I can also see how unsure she is to tell me. So I let her sit in comfortable silence until she's ready to share. She eats her dinner, drinks, swallows and thinks. I took two shrimp from her plate and it made her smile. I love seeing her smile. I take a swing of the water then swallow, her watchful eyes amused. I don't think she has much knowledge of the first Vampires, but I'd correct that soon enough. But then something happens, her body stiffens beside me and her stormy eyes shift to pools of liquid gold, her left hand grip my right arm tightly as she goes through the motions of a vision. I could almost see her life flash before her eyes, it looked so unnatural, her body rigid and holding her breath. "What was that?" I asked carefully. "I..." she looks around, but nobody is really paying us any mind except for the few wandering eyes here and there, but its normal for people to look. Their attention is on me the Vampire King, wondering how I could be mated to a young werewolf such as her, but they don't know the story, our story and they don't know that I would go to the ends of Earth to save her. "Uh, not here." she says barely above a whisper looking around at her peers. I nod and she rises from her seat picking up her things, but I take the tray away from her while she leads me to the place she feels safest. We made our way back to the entryway of the dining hall and I set her now empty plate and bowls in a bin and the tray in its designated spot. She takes my hand and leads us out of the doors and down the hall, another right turn and up three flights of stairs. "I hope this is okay." I don't think she understands that I would follow her anywhere, including death, but it seems like death wont let me follow her. Then she opens a door and pulls me through it and locks it. We're so close, so damn close, my lips almost touching hers and she's breathing heavily, my fingers twitch to touch her, my lips want to kiss her and, Goddess f**k, my teeth ached with the pain of wanting to mark her, but I restrain myself because I don't want to scare her. I don't want her to see the monster I could be if she looks at me right now. So I do the only thing I can do. I squeeze my eyes shut and try to stop inhaling her sweet scent of plums and cherries. "Please look at me." she murmurs as she takes my hands in hers, but I can't because I'm terrified of what I'd do if she saw me, the real me, the monster. She steps closer and wraps one hand around my torso, my body exploding with the electricity of her touch, "Thierry, let me see your eyes." her voice is soft and I don't want to fight it, I want to look her in the eyes. "I'm not scared if that's what your worried about." I was worried, worried for her and for her life. That would never change, but then she placed her right hand against my right cheek and I couldn't fight any longer. "There they are," she whispered with a small smile. No doubt seeing the sliver irises. I know what she means, because her eyes haven't changed either, her wolf has been stirring inside her since the moment we met out on that field. Her pools of liquid gold burned with such an intensity, but found it comforting. "Don't be afraid mate," her voice was gravelly mixed with that of her wolf. "I could never be afraid of you." I said honestly. "She's afraid." As she should be because she doesn't know what's to come. I sigh deeply, but don't let her go. "Its not what you think, its not about that.....its about her." "Tell me," "Her scars, she's afraid you won't want her when you see them." the wolf says. "I love her no matter what, both of you." I whispered and the wolf seemed satisfied when she added. "I missed you mate, let her show you and then explain, laters mate." I missed her too, it's been so long since I've seen her, but I no idea what she means, when Hahnnah pulls slightly away. "Are you okay? Did she do anything?" I could feel her distress, but she had nothing to fret. "No, she just wanted to say hi." It wasn't a complete lie. She sighs and leads me to the edge of her bed. It's so intimate and personal. Her bedroom was neat and tidy and minimal pretty much summed it up. "Here goes nothing," she grumbled. "Its okay if your not ready to share. I can wait." Waiting was normal for me. I've waited so long. I can wait for her. Her eyes shift back and forth from gray to gold a few times until she speaks. "I have visions of you, I knew you already, I know you, my wolf hardly speaks to me, but she craves you like crack and I've been intimate with someone." she spills everything and I find it endearing that her wolf pushed her through it. "She'd like you to see for yourself," her wolf says. I nod and gently I pull her palms upwards and slowly place mine on top of hers and close my eyes. I'm flooded with every vision she's ever had and there's so many of them, the same, but not and their all from her point of view. The first time we fell in love a time when both of us were just human, then her second life and then many after that. Her hair has changed in color and so have her eyes, but she's still the same and still Mine. Then the more recent ones. The oddest one of them all. The one with Amara. Fuck,
