How cold the heart can get
Dimitris I race down the isolated road in my white Audi convertible with it's roof retracted enabling me feel the cold prick of the wind on my face as it blew my blonde hair backward. The brunette sitting in the passenger seat beside me had her head buried deep in my lap, giving me a pleasurable blow job. She didn't flinch a bit when my free hand slid under her blouse, piercing deep into her skin with my claws, drawing out blood. A sly smile cross my face as I lick my bloody claws, savouring the sweet metallic taste on my tongue. I grinned, twenty minutes later, when the mansion came into view. The huge iron gate creaked open automatically allowing me drive through the vast interlocked driveway fanned by old oak trees along side. Moment later, I came to a stop in front of a huge double doors with gold lining after circling round a fountain of water. "welcome sire" a servant greeted me, bowing slightly as I came down from my car, the brunette staggering beside me. "Get my luggage from the trunk" I ordered, looking at the gigantic house in front of me that would be my home for the next two weeks. As I step into the vast hallway still gripping the brunette to prevent her from tumbling over, the Viallos stood, waiting for me, a smile spread across their pale white faces, welcoming me into their home. They were about seven in numbers but I could only recognise four of them. The Lord of the viallo's mansion, Lord Viallo stood at the center, his wife, Austin's mother stood beside him on the left while, at his right hand stood a woman that looked not a day older than thirty. She had on a pair of big earrings and her head was clean shaved. I remember Austin talking about her, she was Lord Viallo's mother and Austin's grandmother but I couldn't remember what he'd say her name was. Not because I didn't have retentive memory, but probably because I wasn't paying attention. The soon to be bride, Kate, stood very close to a woman she had striking resemblance with. I could only assume to be her mother, Austin's elder sister. "Welcome home, Austin" Lord viallo spoke. He was a short, pot-bellied man with grey hairs. If only they knew Austin was buried deep between the embraces of five women in Rome as we speak. "humans" Austin's mother hissed, her face contorting into a frown as she eyes the girl who was staring into space beside me. of course, they would smell her blood, it was pure, not tainted like the servants roaming the mansion. "how dare you bring her here?" she squeals. Her silky black hair cascade down to her waist and there was a scowl on her face. "Hello to you too, mother" I grinned, cringing inwardly at the words. "you sure have changed over the centuries, son. What message are you trying to pass across? We are supposed to be a model vampire family. The humans are looking up to us not to mess up the agreement we have. Number one which is no hypnotizing or drinking human blood. We have enough genetically engineered blood bag to sustain us......." Austin's mother droned on. Who were they to lecture me? I made the damn rules thousands of year's ago when I was naive and in love with a human. I never thought the entire Vampire would later adopt it as a law when humans finally accepted and recognised them. They had no idea how much he's changed. It never ceases to amaze me how vampires fail to recognise their own family after living for a thousand years. Living for centuries did that to us. We'd lived for so long, renewing our skin with human blood until we barely recognise our own family after a long time apart. As I stood in front of Austin's family, they had no idea - not even a single doubt that I wasn't their first born son. I had the same blonde hair and blue eyes just like him and I look not a day older than nineteen. The same age I was when the unfortunate incident had happened and made me into a monster. The age I would be stuck in for the rest of my miserably immortal life. "Austin, this barbaric act will not be accepted here" Lord Magnus berate, his face turning white as his fangs elongated. "Barbaric act?!" I growled. They don't scare me. This bunch of stupid vampires in front of me acting all high and classy. "it's against the la-" "f**k the law" I cut him off, the rest of the family gaped in extreme shock. "the law is old and stupid" "It was made by the first vampire" a timid voice interrupted me. my gaze landed on her. "little kitten" I grinned wickedly at her, "The first vampire was a stupid fool" "Now you over there" I point my finger at a servant standing by the door who scrambled over quickly. "take her to my room" I pushed the brunette who'd been staring into blank space the whole time. "I presume you must be the bride" I looked at the girl still hiding behind her mother. "congratulations on your wedding" she smiled shyly. "Now with the pleasantries out of the way, I should head to my room. I need my rest." I bowed playfully and strutted up the stairs, leaving the family in awe. They must be wondering what happened to their perfect son. I didn't know my way around the castle so I traced the blood of the brunette. It led me to a door and when I opened it, she was inside, sprawled across the bed, my luggage on the ground close to a walk-in wardrobe. Everything was luxurious, polished to perfection. Austin's family was sure stuck up as he said. It would be a fun-filled adventure toying with them. They would never know the difference between me and their ever-loyal, humble son. I looked at the brunette sprawled across the bed fast asleep, bite marks visible on her neck, her breast, her hands, all over her delicate body and the hunger in me rise again. Instantly, I sank my fangs into her neck drawing out blood as she lay there without wincing. After a full-blood meal I dozed off. Dimitris A soft knock on the door woke me up from my sleep the following morning. The sun was mild on my skin, sneaking in through the curtains at the window. I grazed the fake ring on my middle finger. It was only there to make them believe I could burn in the sun like the rest of them without magical rings. "Your family awaits you at the dining for breakfast" the servant's voice floated through the closed door before he scurried away. They all seem aware of our heightened senses. After a nice warm bath and a change of cloth, I left the brunette still fast asleep and stepped out of the room. The whole family was sitting at the dining table, eating quietly. this is no fun. Lord Magnus sat at the head of the table, followed by Austin's mother at the right and on the left, was Ausin's grandmother. The rest of the seat was filled with unimportant uncles and aunties. The only vacant seat was next to the bride-to-be, Kate. I remember Austin talking nicely about her. she looked not a day older than seventeen but I knew better. Vampires stop aging when they get to a particular age. Humans turned into vampires become trapped at the age they were turned but a vampire-born ages until a certain age. Sometimes, seventeen, eighteen, or even nineteen depending on the individual. Kate had lived for five centuries now according to Austin. I took the vacant seat beside her, watching her smile sweetly at me. Austin didn't lie when he said she was charming, she sure is making a good impression on me. Eyes darted towards me but not a word was said. Boring. They were strict with rules. I ate in silence too. Glad to see my cup was filled with blood. Fine, they wanted me to act sophisticated, I will. After eating for a while, I gulped down the liquid and spit it out immediately, watching it splatter on the faces of people sitting close to me. Kate's face too quite a chunk of it. They all look at me in horror. "what the hell is this?!" I growled. Austin had told me his people were crazy, delusional, and mad but I didn't expect them to be extremely mad and f*****g hypocritical. who drinks wine mixed with blood when the castle was swarming with human servants. If my memories serve me correctly, I never pass this into law. "Did the first vampire put this into law as well?" I asked Kate, looking directly into her horror-filled eyes. She pursed her lips, too scared to reply. "Austin!" Lord Magnus's eyes filled with anger "you are a disgrace!" his fist slams the iron table causing the people seated to flinch in fear except me. I met his angry blue eyes with my menacing one. "Austin" I heard the soft plea of Austin's mum. 'sorry mother but I am not your son ' I wanted to say but instead, I say "who the f**k drinks wine so early in the morning?.... mixed with blood? ewwwwww.." I wrinkled my nose in disgust, enraging Lord Magnus the more. His face had gone whiter and I wonder how white I can make it get. I gripped the servant trying to wipe the table I had sputtered drinks on. My claws elongating, piercing deep into her neck as she screamed in agonising pain. In a flash, I drank from her but not for long. Her blood was laced with vervain and it burned my throat. I push her away, staggering to my feet and away from the table. Eyes followed me, some in sheer wonders, others clearly dumbstruck while some were furious just like Lord Magnus. "f**k this s**t!" I said through clenched teeth, climbing back up the huge double staircase to my room. I didn't bother checking the state of the brunette still sprawled across my bed as I sank my fangs into her thighs. It was stiff, the warm liquid I was expecting did not flow into my mouth. I paused, removing my canines and felt her pulse. s**t. she was long dead and in a state of rigour Mortis. Dammit! I hadn't bothered to feed her since yesterday only drinking from her until I'd sucked her dry. I looked out of the window into the green grass spread outside. The fence is huge with barbed wires and no human could climb over it. But to me, it was a piece of cake. I open the double glass window and jumped, the wind making a whooshing sound as I landed on my feet. In a flash, I sped closer to the fence which was three miles far away from my window. My claws extended and pierced the wall, causing a huge c***k in it as I climb over it like a lizard.
