Chapter 15

2086 Words
Lanna's POV I opened my eyes slowly. I had no clue where I was or who I was. All I knew was that it was really dark and really scary. "Hello?" I called out. I heard a branch of a tree move. A little blue bird landed in front of me. He was holding a piece of paper, folded small enough for him to carry. I took it and opened it. My dear sister Lanna, I know you are frightened and all of this makes no sense to you, but trust Papa. He is the little blue jay that brought you this letter. Papa will take you to Alex. He and his daughter Lillian will take care of you. Love always, Big Sister Kanna Little Sister Pandora I looked over at Papa. "Will you take me to this Alex person?" He chirped happily. Alex's POV It had now been a year since Pandora left and Lanna came to live with us. She wasn't a wolf, but Lillian still loved her like she was. Most don't know yet, but when Lanna shifts, she takes the form of a white owl. I left the girls to play in the front yard to play and headed to my office. I opened a letter I had gotten a year ago. Alex, Lanna is an owl, but she has a special gift from Scarlet's father. If she wanted to, she could take the form of any creature on this earth. In a year, tell her that she must activate this gift. Tell her that this is the only way she will be able to find the mate that is intended for her. Love always, Pandora I smiled again at the letter like I always did when I read it. Today, is actually one year since she's been here. I knew I had to do this. I just hoped it would work and she would find her mate. I left my office again and found the girls still playing in the front yard. "Lanna! Come here for a moment please!" I called out. She looked up at me with her beautiful purple eyes. They weren't normal, but I guessed that it was part of the gift of god blood in her. "Yes, Alpha Alex?" Her voice was always so soft. "I need to tell you something." I paused. "Do you remember what I told you about your sisters and brother?" She nodded. "Well, a year ago, I got a letter from Pandora. She told me to tell you after one year, that you have a gift. That gift, is the ability to take the form of any creature on earth. Once you activate that gift, you will also find your mate." I explained to her. "A gift? My mate? Oh dear. This is too much for me. Can't I just stay the way I am?" I shook my head. "You have to. Pandora wants you to find your mate. I know it's frightening, but I'll be here for you. I will always keep you safe." She looked down at the ground and took a deep breath. "I want to be a white wolf, but I want to keep my wings." She shifted after stating what she wanted. Her wolf was small. Her wings were large as the always were. She looked up at me and I smiled. Her eyes were still purple. "Mate!" Vince yelled in my head. I froze. "Not possible!" I yelled, making Lanna yelp. "S-sorry Lanna. Vince is speaking to me. I didn't mean to scare you." I held my hand out and she placed her head in my hand. I felt the tingles of the mate bond. This is not possible. Kanna didn't tell me that my permanent mate would be her sister Lanna. Lanna opened the link to me. "A voice in my head is telling me that you are my mate Alpha." "Vince said that same thing to me." I smiled lightly at her. "But, why Alpha?" She was always asking questions. "I don't know. The Moon Goddess works in mysterious ways." She didn't say anything and just ran off to play with Lillian again. Lillian had found her wolf form early. Lillian was my little orange and white pup. I had to get some paper work done so I headed to my office once again. I opened the door to find Wolfram and Pandora in there. She was sitting in my chair and Wolfram was laying beside my desk. "Hello, Alex." I was frozen in spot with my jaw on the floor. "Wolfie, do you think we could get some hell flies in here?" He barked in agreement. I closed my mouth quickly. "Pandora? Is that really you? Or am I dreaming? Did I fall asleep and my desk again?" I pinched myself hard and she laughed. "No you are awake. I am here in your office." I ran to her to give her a hug, but Wolfram headbutted me in the stomach sending me across the room. "Sorry. He's a little protective." She stood and I noticed then. She was very pregnant. I mean, due any day pregnant. "Now, if you hurt my sister or force her into anything that she doesn't want to do, I'll kill you myself." "I won't hurt her. You know that." I lamely defended myself. She laughed. "Good, but I mean it. I'll kill you if you hurt her." She held her arms open for me to hug her. I hugged her lightly, but not without warning from Wolfram. "I missed you." "I know you did." "How's life with the demon king?" "Eventful. Too much to get into detail about. How has Lanna been?" "A wonderful girl. Lillian loves her. She doesn't eat much though. That worries me a bit." "She was a bird. They don't eat much. Now that she's a wolf, she'll eat a whole lot more." "I hope so. So, do you know if the baby's a boy or girl?" "Girl I hope. Males kill their fathers when they turn 16." "Oh. That's odd." "Pandora!!!" Lanna yelled from the doorway. I turned and watched as she ran toward her. Wolfie stepped in the way to stop Lanna from hurting the baby. "I missed you so much, sister! And you too Wolfie!" She gave them both a hug. "We missed you too. I can't stay long. I have duties in hell I have to deal with. Plus Damian doesn't like me leaving his side for too long nowadays." She rolled her eyes at the last part. "That might be because of how far along you are." I said. She hissed at me and I laughed. A black whole appeared on the wall and Damian stepped out. "Pandora, you must come back to rest. You are due tomorrow and I want you well rested for you to survive labor." "Grr! Damian, I am much stronger than you think! Just because I forfeit our fight a year ago, doesn't mean anything!" "Brother Damian." Lanna said. He turned to her. "You did not tell me your sister had purple eyes! I will give you anything you want for the rest of your life if you let me have those eyes of yours!" Tears welled up in her eyes and I stepped forward growling. "Do not touch her!" He backed away. "Oh, I see. My apologies Alex." Lanna's POV I ran from Damian. I had heard about him from Pandora, but I had never met him. He was terrifying! I ran to my room and hid under my bed. Childish I know, but it made me feel safe. My door opened and someone walked in. I felt a pull inside my chest. It was Alex. "You can come out now. He's not going to hurt you." He said. I slid out and looked up at Alex. He was much taller than I was. His ice blue eyes have always caught my attention. "Do you promise?" He nodded. "I swear he's not going to hurt you. He just loves different eyes. Believe it or not, but he still wants Lillian's eyes." "Who is Lillian's mother?" I asked bluntly. I always wanted to know, but I never had the courage to ask him. He smiled lovingly at me. "That doesn't matter now. You'll be her mother now." I gasped. "No I couldn't. I can't take that away from her. What if her mother comes back? It would hurt her if Lillian was calling someone else mommy." He kept smiling, but it was Lillian who spoke up. "I don't have a mom anymore. She went to the Moon Goddess a long time ago." "Oh Lilly! I'm so sorry hunny." I pulled her into a hug. "Will you be my mother?" She asked. I nodded and started crying. Pandora's POV Damian and I returned to the castle. I always thought that it would be dark and fiery here, but it's not. It's actually a very nice place with lots of sun and green grass. I yawned and sat down on the edge of the bed. Wolfie was always with me. He was now more of a pet than my steed. I kept my broken sword from a year ago. I had it put into a case and put on my wall. "Do you miss Ryu, Wolfie?" I asked. He whimpered and looked up at the sword. "I agree. I wish he was still here too." "Why didn't you tell me that your weapon was your older brother?" Damian asked. "Because you wouldn't have broken my sword if I did. If you didn't break my sword, we would have had to keep fighting. I didn't want to fight anymore. Wolfie was hurt and I had fallen in love with you." "You didn't fight me with all your strength did you?" I smiled. "Nope. I wanted to lose the moment I saw you. I knew I wouldn't have been able to kill you." He sighed. "You cheeky little shit." He stalked closer to me. I smiled, but suddenly felt a sharp pain in my stomach. I stood up, putting a hand on my stomach. "Ouch." I said. Wolfie started whimpering and Damian came to my side. "Are you okay love?" He asked. "I'm f--" I felt like I was peeing, but when I looked down, my legs were covered in slightly bloody water. "My water broke." Wolfie ran from the room quickly. He knew what to do for when my water broke. I felt another wave of pain and I screamed out. "Oh that hurts!" I yelled. Damian helped me to the bed. I told him that I wanted to be in my own bed when I gave birth. I had told him that when we found out that I was pregnant. I screamed again and crushed Damian's hand. "I f*****g hate you!" I screamed at him. He froze and Wolfie came back in with the doctor. "Not to worry. That's only what they say because they are in pain. After the baby is born, she will love you and have forgotten all the things she said. You best forget them too." The doctor said. I was covered in sweat and in a lot of pain. "Damian I swear to god I'm going to kill you for putting this thing inside me!" I screamed. "You're doing great my love." He smiled at me. I wanted to punch him in the face so badly, but instead I crushed his hand again as another wave of pain hit. "Pandora, when I tell you to, I want you to push." The doctor said. "What? This is my first baby! I don't know what the f**k I'm doing!" "Push like you are trying to poop. It's the same muscles that push the baby out." He said. "Oh f**k off!" I yelled. "Push Pandora." The doctor said. I began pushing, but I felt like I was about to be torn in half. I screamed, then I heard a smaller scream. My baby was born. The doctor quickly cut the cord and cleaned up my baby. "A boy." He said with a smile. I went to take him, but felt another wave of pain. I screamed. The doctor handed Damian his son and came back to me. I had already begun pushing, soon enough, a small scream was heard. I fell back onto the pillows. I was tired. "A girl." The doctor said. I held both of my babies on my chest. I smiled at them. They were beautiful. I looked over at Damian. "What are we going to name them?" I asked. "Ryu and Kanna." He said smiling. I smiled and looked at my babies. "My boy Ryu and my girl Kanna. I love you."
