Chapter 6After getting off the phone with my dad, I felt restless. I got up and got on the bathroom scale, and discovered that while I hadn’t gained any weight, I also hadn’t lost any, so I decided to go on a bike ride, confusing thoughts swirling around in my mind. As I pushed myself to go faster and faster on the bike, pumping up hills and coasting down, riding around my small town of Middletown, I thought about what my dad had said, and how ridiculous it was. If he only knew who I really wanted to date, maybe he’d be a bit more proud of the choice I’d made.
