Chapter 10On Monday, October fifth, we had a regular band practice that night, meeting up on the football field to go over some new formations. Big Gay Al had another man with him, and at first we thought it was some other band director or something and didn’t really pay too much attention.
After our first break, we went back to the band room to continue practice there. Big Gay Al stood at the podium, and his friend sat at a chair near the piano.
“I have an announcement to make,” said Big Gay Al after we were all in our places. “Many of you met my wife in the past years, and I just wanted to say that we have now divorced.”
